Donation is used for welfare programs run by monastery. The temples were built from the donations of devotees. However it is wrong to say it is for Tibetan welfare as more than half of the monks are from Himalayan regions of India and Nepal. Even Bhutan some as far as Mongolia and Russian Republic of Tuva, Kalykia and Brytia. People from above region come to Tibet to study Buddhist philosophy. But all the lay people living in Bylakuppe settlement camps are all Tibetans refugees. Since the Chinese occupation of Tibet they cannot go to Tibet and come to the monasteries established by Tibetan. Monasteries run schools which are only monks. Dispensary is open to all who come to the clinic.
