Struggling between the Technics AZ80 vs Sony WF-1000XM5. I have read superb reviews on Technics earbuds (eg: their premium build quality, durability, longevity etc.), whereas Sony earbuds are well known for their battery issue after about 12 months of usage.
I'm tired of buying "cheap but mind blowing top notch" earbuds from reviews I see online. Just got the Soundpeats Engine 4 buds based off raving reviews in which I think sound like junk and made from macaroni noodles. I guess if you really want mind blowing sound you're gonna have to pay a mind blowing price. Just ordered the XM5s.
Try the earfun air pro 3 once you update them the sound and anc and transparency is up there with the best... Sony always have problems. And fir all that money nope !!!
Thanks for this, I rarely find a good comparison between the value priced (Anker) and top tier headphones. I only wish you had added the Anker Liberty 4 NC, their newest that came out a month before the XM5's. Thanks again, this is great
I tried the Bose Ultras and the Sony 5. And Bose just drowned the music in distorted bass. I had to return them. If I want crazy bass I’ll buy Skullcandy Hesh. The Sony 5 is AMAZING !!!
The future is raw but it's expensive. You have more tools at your disposal than ever before in human history to be able to afford them though. Hustle up!
I already have the soundcore, just ordered a momentum 3 tws despite the release of the xm5 cause I know it won't suddenly get super comfortable, sony has never prioritised comfort. And also everybody talks about how deep the bass of the senn is compared to competition
You are absolutely right about everything in your videos. Especially the Anker (soundcore Space A40) they shocked me how good they are! And I owned all of these what you discussed! Bose is the best and probably Jabra Elite 85Ts.
I've been using my liberty 3 pro for about 2 years now. Daily use at work(8+hrs a day). They have been great and still work perfectly, but are starting look show their age(scuffs, scratches etc) Recently picked up a set of buds2 pro and the sound quality isn't great, gonna return the buds2pro. The l3p just sound better, clearer, cleaner, better instrument separation, better bass-mids-highs. I'm still searching for a new set of buds so if you have any recommendations.
don't listen to anyone who tells you to get the xm4's instead when they've never owned a pair... there are A LOT of issues with the xm4's that have been addressed and resolved in the xm5's one big one being a wax guard with all eartips bc sony earbuds are really hard to the nozzle
I just got my Sonys today honestly not what I was hoping for they still make me look like Shrek the fit is very similar than before... I'm gonna return them if the galaxy buds pro 2 fit better I ordered them for 99 on eBay new.
Im also selling them. The fit is really bad, sound quality is mediocre at best and the most annoying thing to me was the automatic mode adjustment which is always acknowledged with a chime like every two minutes.
Please note DO NOT use the wireless charging pad on any of these earbuds really, Sony at least has told me through customer service that there are questionable effects on the battery life when using the charging pad. I would also like to note, I am returning my xm4 earbuds because of the firmware issue sony had that drastically reduced the battery life and may have permanently damaged the earbuds. I do not have a warranty on them, I purchased them through amazon however sony is still giving me a full purchase refund, so in terms of customer service, sony really is hard to beat, they really do their best, which is something to consider when the earbuds are fairly pricey
I had Anker, sold it soon, absolutely didn't like its sound, it is lower league, my Samsung Buds Pro 2 is 100 times more advanced and has 5x better sound. Anker is not a serious player beside Sony, Bose and Bowers Wilkins.

I just bought the new Anker Soundcore Liberty 4 NC after returning my Sony WF-1000XM5 and I have to say these blows everything I have owned including the buds2 pro and even beats Bose and Jabras in everything except ANC. ANC is probably slightly under Bose QC 2. I seem to be reaching out to these to listen to music and phone calls now adays more than even my favorite bose quiet comfort 2 earbuds. That may say something about these. And I have tried almost everything under 350 bucks.

So unfortunately I have to tell you that the Sony Xm 5 are not the best in Sound! The Nuratrue Pro and Status Between 3ANC are currently the kings of sound and don't care!

No. If anything go for a different brand. The xm4's have too many problems. The main one being that they are way too bulky

Interesting no one else is saying that these headphones are good at present but after a software update in the future they should Improve
Everything on the Sonys is good but coming from the bose qc2, the AMC is super underwhelming in comparison

sony xm5 fit are so disappointing they must have an earfins sizes to make a good seal! and the anc is a we expected.. bose qc2 still worth it!
