Thanks a lot for this review Cory. This is definitely the Seventh Heaven of reverbs. From what I can hear there's nothing like it out there. The quality and naturalness of this reverb is unprecedented in VST history.
Amazing work as usual, Cory: straight to the point, well explained/detailed and still offers a music journey. I was thinking about purchasing seventh heaven but since I didn't had any example side by side and have so many reverbs, including the ones in this video, i never did. I am mind blown. Definitely will buy it as soon as i can.
Dear Cory, would you please consider doing a review of Cinematic Rooms reverb and may be compare with Seventh Heaven?
What I noticed about 7H is that it is able to give life even to crappy samples, while the rest of the reverbs were creating more of a zombies. I encourage everyone to at least try it once on your best mix.
Bought it yesterday. All my reverb searching for months has come to a halt! This has set a new standard. I think it will be hard to replace! All my other reverb plugins sound good. But the way in which this one blends with the source is something I could not achieve with the other ones easily. Thanks again Cory!
Hii... Im trying to purchase this too... Could you pls tell me whether its the Standard version that you are happy with or the professional version ?
Further.. Do you think this could beat the Valhalla Room ?
Many thanks & cheers... 🎉
Can't agree with you more! Also just grabbed it. I tell you. It feels like the search for verb is over. Shockingly impressive!
After I heard this demo, I tried about 10 reverbs. This one really has a special quality of blending with the source, which is exceptional! To me it sounds much less like a sound with added reverb but more like putting it in a space. And like you pointed out, it's especially obvious with percussion or drums. So thanks for the tip! :)
@@gitarrenvogel I feel it puts the instruments in place similarly this plugin does but of course the Pro version doesn't compare.
Thanks for the info. This needs to be pretty much the first reverb, where there are like no demos around. Maybe I‘ll check it out, when I have time.
@@gitarrenvogel I also like Rev A from Sonsig rev A from Relab but that has a alot of tail but still great for edm sort of thing
I could not agree more. If I agreed any more my head would explode and through this verb even that would sound phenomenal. Best verb purchase ever. I've literally stopped right here with this verb.
I bought this last Black Friday and this is exactly how I felt. I'd never heard a room sound so realistic, so part of the sound rather than just sitting behind it. Truly Liquid sonics! And the low end rumble is amazing, no other plugin offers that. I compared setting a dry woodwind instrument into a 'stage' position in VSS2, and this, and the two both sounded extremely comparable, so this became the much better investment. Loved this walkthrough!
Great review Cory! Certainly put this reverb on the top of my list. Sounds so realistic without the artifacts that other reverb can have. Love how that that VLF knob sounds! It's almost impossible to get other reverbs to sound that smooth.
I have just won a license of SH and SHP on a sweepstake by The Mix Consultancy.
I am overjoyed to have these reverbs in my mix arsenal, sounds so great.
Thank you!
Thanks for this review Cory! I've never been 100% happy with all my "realistic" reverbs for all the reasons you have stated. I'm defiantly going to keep my eye on this one! Would love to get the pro version when I can. That VFL knob sounds absolutely stunning!!!
Cory, love this style of review and tone of voice. Thanks! :D
Fabulous demo of Seventh Heaven. Amazing reverb and so cool that they have a $69 version. Thank you Cory.
Thank you! I bought this yesterday, actually before I saw your video....but now even more excited!
Truly amazing brother, thanks for this, cheers from Chile!
Great reverb showcase. Thank you for taking the time to do this!
I'm so glad you did a video on this! I'll buy it today.
Amazing Video Cory! Thank you so much. Give Relab reverb plugins a try, especially LX480!
Really well done. You really pointed out critical things i used to deal with.
Great. Now I need Seventh Heaven.
At first I was thinking to myself "they sound too similar. I don't understand."
Then you played the percussion part. lol.
I’m sold. A great comparison reverb video. I just checked price, and it’s very reasonable. Thanks for all your hard work on this presentation.
one of my favorites, easily top 3. That said, I'd 100% recommend the professional version. You can REALLY shape your reverb for your source, and that's huge
The other hard part is sometimes certain sound sources sound better with certain reverbs.
Sp2016 works absolutely perfect for something but then complete moss for something else
Old vid but very helpful! I have a difficult time honing in my ears to reverb. 7H is on my short list but mostly the A/B comparisons were VERY helpful. I just went through my template adjusting with 7H demo with mixed sample libs and got them much closer... long way to go for my ears but major difference. I've been looking for something like this. Many thanks!
I discovered this reverb thanks to you, it's my favorite reverb and the only I use and care for at the moment.
Thanks for this video Cory! You have helped me so much. I had been having trouble on my latest piece getting the reverb right, and you have convinced me to invest in Seventh Heaven!! As you said it sounds so natural, especially on the percussion!!! This could become my go to reverb? We will see? Thanks again Cory!! #staysafe
I still prefer RC48 for overall big orchestral tracks (it works better with other libs that sit in different spaces)..this made my CSS strings sound too hollow and thin even when all my mics were close..it does sound good on percussion and really gels everything together quite nicely..but anyting that's not close mic'ed sounds off because it clashes too much with the reverb..love your reviews btw man! You've saved me so many times from buying bad libraries!
And so back in a year to hear 7th heaven is Awsome and i am lucky to have it. thanks you for the video
So nice review, thank you very much. Thanks, and have a wonderful day
Anyways, I just bought it!!!. Uauuuuuuu. My second favorite reverb is Best Service Hall of Fame 3, another monster
Amazing. Simply Amazing. I was in my high school's concert orchestra and hearing that orchestra demo sounded like I was playing my viola again. 7th Heaven is clearly superior to its competitors.
Great demo - thank you so much for taking the time to make it. You just can't touch that Bricasti sound. :-)
Fantastic review! The examples are so revealing!
Your percussion shootout at @12:03 sold it for me. Percussion is always the most difficult....my go-to preset on Exponential Audio R4 (Famous Large Hall) is beautiful for everything except I don't like the slaps on Perc stuff.
This review is outstanding
That's such a gorgeous-sounding verb. Makes me want to buy the hardware.
Thanks Cory, I just bought it on Black Friday sale for $49. Eager to try it! :-) Your review was very convincing!
Excellent review of seventh heaven. Now will eagerly wait for black Friday! If I may, what library was used in the percussion comparison at 12:03 ? Sounds excellent!
Hi Siva... Black Friday promo ends on 7th December.. You can Grab this beast for just 49$... Cheers !!
It’s a most amazing reverb , love it
It's an amazing reverb. I've tested it some time ago but it was just too CPU heavy for my current machine. I'm looking forwad to get it since I bought new workstation.
Great video as always ;)
Excellent video, man.
Good plugin! That VLF knob is insane. I want to hear how piano sounds with this reverb.
I probably won't get this though because I'm so used to my current detailed reverb workflow.
But if it ever goes on sale then maybe.
it's currently on sale for 49$ or 179$ for the pro version.. check their website
oh my god its gorgeous
Have you tried their new Cinematic Rooms reverb? Not sure which to go for. Seventh Heaven is lush, but Cinematic Rooms may be better for theatrical and orchestral use. Anyone compared them?
Love your review style! Please do more effects/plugin vids
Excellent demo, thank you!
Thank you for such a great video on this plug in.
Just watched this video and like you I'm sold. Thanks for all your content and time you put into them. What specialty reverb do you use. Ex. Valhalla Shimmmer Etc.
I'm not sure at the moment. I've been putting synths through this thing and pushing it and it seems to give me everything I want, but when it comes to creating ambiences I use Studio One's convolution plugin and run special reverb packs through it like Frozen Plains' Frostpoint or weird stuff I've recorded and use as IR effects. I would like to get Valhalla's Shimmer though. I'll probably end up doing a video on that one.
Fantasic and very informative presentation - really a fantastic reverb ! Could someone here tell me about The Organ att 2.57 and 6.13 - Sounds SO WONDRFUL with this reverb ! What instrument is it from what company ? Kind Regards !
question Cory, how CPU intensive is this plugin?
It’s pretty good nothing more than a good reverb, here Imin studio one , marks about 9, 10 in the higher quality
@@LeonardoLima-nk4fv thanx Sete, already upgraded to cinematic rooms, like you said,a great reverb, also got studio one 5 pro now, just beginning to learn it,have bought the superb groove 3 video manual, super easy, have a nice sunday Sete

SOLD! sounds so real
Damn, Cory....in 20 minutes you sold me on this beautiful tool. My next move is a purchase. Thank you for a meaningful demo.
bought this today. still getting the feel of what works for me, but I love the scoring stage, and London plate...
I love this reverb, but I can also recommend Exponential Audio's R4. Especially as it frequently goes on sale. I picked it up recently for 7 euro (around $10 with tax etc).
when i first heard a bricasti m7 i was struck by how the verb becomes part of the original sound, it doesnt sound like an effect. even distorted sounds dont lose detail
This tutorial convinced me to buy Seventh Heaven!
Thanks for the video, have you tried the pro version? and if so is it better or same as this one? Thanks
Sounds great certainly, great review. Feels like the reverb is the space behind and around the instruments, rather than just a signal playing at the same time.
Found the mix and pre-delay you used quite interesting - despite those settings it never felt bloated or washy.
License wise, I use an eLicenser as it is, so not much difference. Better than Waves where you have remember to to opt out one machine online, then opt in another...
Waves is horrid. They make you re-pay for support and updates on all your plugins every year now. I tossed all my Waves plugins because of that.
Hi Cory, well thought processed review. A quick question would you consider this product being bought even with Studio One 4/5 Pro version stock plugins? How do the stock reverbs match to this plugin or perhaps another plugin such as Red Verb which also puts instruments in space if you will.
The Studio One stock reverbs are in my opinion, blurrgh. I've always avoided using them in favour of things like Valhalla Room and others. Not sure about Red Verb. Seventh Heaven is pretty much best for the money you can get, for the standard version.
@@CoryPelizzari Thank you Cory much appreciated for the guidance. You're review vídeos are as they say, are one hit wonders...
Great video and explanations ! Thanks
Nice review Cory.. I was wondering if you could put this Plugin and the new Sonsig Rev-A reverb side by side and compare them. I thought this was a latest interesting instrument to do a comparison with. I wanted to ask btw, what church organ did you use for the review? sounds really nice..
I'm a bit tight on finds at the moment but I'll see about doing comparisons in the future. I have a video coming on Monday talking about how I place instruments in a space and I'll be comparing Seventh Heaven to my older setup with QL Spaces and Valhalla Room. The organ is Union Chapel Organ from Spitfire by the way.
@@CoryPelizzari Thank you very much and thanks for the update!! You're the man
There is also a free 14 days trial version (full features), so you could also test it for yourself if you want to. (I have the trial version and I'm definitely going to purchase next week when it runs out...)
Hey Cory, how do you have your reverb set up? Just out of curiosity, the instrument track routed to an aux track which houses the reverb?
The real surprising thing for me is how transparent the Seventh Heaven is even with its potential for colouration. I know it is kind of sacrilegious to not like Valhalla Room but I find that it has an inherent boxiness (? Really difficult to describe it using words) which I am not a big fan of.
But yeah, if it didn't require an iLok, this would have been an instant buy for me.
I usually just chuck the reverb on each instrument track as I like to tweak it for each instrument rather than having one setting in a bus do all the work. I'll be doing a video on Monday about how I use my reverbs to put instruments in a space. Valhalla Room is good but it's a dark reverb by style.
Btw, get an iLok. No reason not to, unless you're plum out of USB ports.
@@CoryPelizzari I really would appreciate videos on topics such as that. Looking forward to it.
I do have quite a few libraries and VSTs which require the software version of iLok but the only reason I have refrained from getting the dongle is the cost. In my country, apart from availibility being a huge problem, the asking price is generally three to four times it's actual retail price. It's been hard for me to justify a purchase with the marked up price.
@@sayandas27 Yeah, libraries have been costing me a fortune lately do to AU's dollar dropping. Where do you have to get an iLok from and how much does it run you?
@@CoryPelizzari Story of my life 😅. The exchange rates are outrageous and I have to wait for 'big' sales to be able to afford (with a lot of saving, planning and compromise) the libraries I really want. We have a few indigenous websites who deal with musical/music related instruments who at times stock ilok dongles, otherwise it'll be Amazon (which has a dedicated country website with local sellers) where it might be available. Either way, a device that generally sells for $30 (USD) or so elsewhere, I'm expected to pay something equivalent to $100-120. Even a price in the range of $50-60 should be a good deal considering taxes and import fees.
@@sayandas27 On iLok's website it costs USD $49 plus around USD $60 more for FedEx shipping. Could you do me a favour and contact me at cory.pelizzari@gmail.com ?
Hi Cory, I don't know how high end your computer is but looking at the performance meter, Seventh Heaven seems to be pretty light on CPU resources
I have been using Waves Abbey Road Plates convolution plugin and it just about takes over the cpu in my 8 core Mac!
Tried it yesterday. Good one !
what's this percussion (bass drum?) & library name playing @3:33?
edit: oh I see Cory mentions it's a grand casa, so I assume it's from True Strike maybe
Hi Cory.
Great review as usual !! At 18"48s, it's a viola? Which one is it? Performance sample ? Thx
Solid video, thanks!
Are you showcasing the version you link to ($69) or the pro version ($299)?
The standard version, which I mention at the end of the video. I highly recommend the standard version for it's unbelievable bang-for-buck ratio.
@@CoryPelizzari Dear Cory.. Firstly thanks millions for your amazing reviews... 🎉
Do you think that the Standard version has the exact same quality that of the Pro has to offer...
Want to make a quick decision.. But as You said the Standard version is hands down the best bang for buck !!! THANKS A BUNCH 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
What the Trumpet plugin do you use? it sounds fantastic good!
For a big "mixing" noob who doesn't know how to use a reverb and who will certainly only use the presets, do you think it's better to buy the standard version or the pro?
Standard version, definitely. Paying the extra money for the pro version will give you more controls, but you need to know what you're doing with the post-eq and whatnot to really get the most out of it. You can always apply for the 25% discount on the pro version later if you feel confident controlling more parameters. The presets are actually the core of the plugin - you pick one, then choose one of the different recorded lengths for that preset, then adjust the wetness setting and use the early/late knob to bring the sound closer or further away. I'll have a video up on Monday showing this.
Thank you for this review. I also have 7H lite version, and as much as I can agree with many of your opinions, I still think that Altiverb sounds more natural for orchestral settings. One thing to keep in mind - there is no discount if you upgrade from Lite to Pro which I found a little bit unfair. Anyways, always pleasure to check your reviews.
Cheers. Zbigniew
I checked that on their site and they now offer a 25% discount for the full version.
7h makes more sense for ambient recordings than altiverb. altiverb = better for dry sources or to put it further back in the hall. 7h is for sweetening the already placed source.
@@profundisconfutatis8093 No, Seventh Heaven is perfect for placing dry sources. Valhalla Room is better for ambient spaces, but I stand behind Seventh Heaven as a complete go to for dry instruments, plus it doesn't cost much.
@@CoryPelizzari Not to be rude, but do you own Altiverb?
7H is one of my go-to's - and I have quite an extragivant amount of reverbs. Different sources like different reverbs, and there isn't anything wrong with that - even if it's the same instrument.
for rhapsody percussion I'd use altiverb or MIR pro
for Berlin percussion I'd use 7H or SP2016
for adventure brass, I'd use altiverb or lexicon randomhall
but for cinebrass I'd use 7H or spaces 2
Sometimes it's the sound I'm going for that makes me pick them - for church verbs altiverb is hard to beat. but its not my first pick for a scoring stage.
trying to put a try source way back in the hall with 7h doesn't work, just makes it sound like a dry source being drenched on a reverb.
@@profundisconfutatis8093 Saying that Seventh Heaven is only good for sweetening the already placed source is something that many other users (and the person who designed the reverb) would strongly disagree on, considering the whole point of the plugin's design is to place any kind of instrument in a natural (albeit M7, not real life) space - which I provided examples for in the video. If those examples sound bad to you, that's fine, but it seems to me you have a very particular taste for reverb. Saying Seventh Heaven isn't good at placing dry instruments in a space is certainly a valid opinion, but it's simply not true. That's like saying the only way to get a decent space would be for composers to spend thousands of dollars on your specific setup and use it your specific way - it's not something that applies to other composers the same way that it does to you. In other words, if I were to say "Studio One doesn't really work for mixing and mastering", that would be a valid opinion, but simply isn't true - that's where I'm coming from.
excellent review
What will happen if I use this on a synth lead or some made up sound?
You sold me.
Are there any stereo placement tools, to use alongside Seventh Heaven, for dry instruments that aren't pre-panned? I've been eyeing Virtual Sound Stage, because it has a clear interface and costs way less than VSL MIR Pro.
Most DAW's should have a factory plugin that allows you to narrow the stereo field, pan and swap the left and right channels. The rest is done with reverb. If you're buying a plugin that places the instrument you're basically buying another convolution reverb that has its own stereo tools - it can be useful but it'll cost way more than just getting Seventh Heaven (if you have the funds though it's no problem I guess). You could always try out Virtual Sound Stage for free just to see if the workflow helps with your initial placement.
I"m still paralyzed with buying either the basic or the pro version. I just don't know how much I'd use the params to justify the freaking over triple price differential. Thoughts?
I have the pro version and haven't used it on a track yet. Just been using the standard version. Hope that helps.
Cory Pelizzari so the standard is full featured enough for you not to feel the need to use the pro version?
I have Altiverb 7, Spaces II, FabFilter Pro-R, Valhalla Room, as well as some others. Once you own great reverbs, spending more just to add another great but expensive reverb doesn't make much sense. If you own nothing but crappy reverbs then sure, get a good one like Seventh Heaven and be done with it.
I love your trumpet. Which one is it ?
@@CoryPelizzari thank you. You're video is really interesting. I'm looking to a good reverb for my Spitfire Studio Strings. Think I found a good contender.

how about HD Cart?
Great video, does anyone know whether you can adjust the Decay time on the SH standard presets or are they fixed?
It does however work with ilok cloud, if you use it over internet network connection you can use it without having\owning a dongle!
I thought it required a physical iLok after reading the info page about iLok licensing... ?
@@CoryPelizzari it supports only ilok 2/3 and ilok cloud. Not many people pay attention to ilok cloud but because I don't have an ilok dongel and I REALLY wanted this reverb, I tried the demo key on the ilok cloud and it works!
Man i wanted to try itnout but it is not working with ilok for me? I only get an error that i donnot have iLok on My PC. But i have, since i am using izoptope and softube plugin...
You may want to ask Liquid Sonics about that. The plugin works without an iLok, just using the iLok manager software to activate it using the cloud.
@@CoryPelizzari thanks for replying Cory! I have contacted Liquid but they say this is an iLok issue, contacted iLok, none of their suggestions have worked so far. i am thinking this has to do with Cloud Session somehow since my regular "none" cloud licenses works fine.
