Great video! I’m a turf professional located in AZ and have met Jimmy on a few occasions and have used several of Evergreen Turf’s products. Big fan of your channel also. Cool to see this collaboration
That man was super informative. You can tell that he loves his job.
That was a great experience. I met with the people from Delea Sod who provides the sod at Yankee Stadium and also got to see there new Pro Vista KBG field before it became public. I wasn't able to take any pictures at their request at the time because it wasn't available yet :)
Great sod farm documentary, Ryan. So gracious of this guy to give you a grand tour of the operation. The average sports fan probably has no idea how much work and re-sodding goes into maintaining a stadium playing surface. Cannot wait for part 2!!!
Finally got to sit down & watch this episode & I'm glad i did ! This is very in depth & informative and I'm excited to see Part 2.
I could talk to that guy all day. Your best video for us warm season guys
It is very good that you read every body’s comments great video
What a wealth of knowledge that guy was! Awesome!
Education education education. Learning more everyday from you and other lawn tubers. Thank you. Truly
Amazing content! Thanks for bringing this to us Ryan! Can't wait for the next part.
Welcome to AZ... glad you made it out to the desert. Best time of the year to come visit us.
Love this video and glad to have you in Arizona!! Can’t wait to see what they do at the stadium!
Thank you for providing a view most of us aren’t aware of. The information provided and the look of that huge PRG area...wow. Kinda think the sample area would be fun to do in a part of my own yard. Looking forward to the next video. Yep yep!
That is some great looking fields. Now if I can get my yard looking that well!
Wow! That was super fascinating! Thanks for taking us on this journey Ryan! It's like having my all access back stage pass to the grass world. And thanks to your videos, my SS9000 looks great! Thank you!
What an incredible facility. Thanks Ryan. This is fantastic insight , well done!
Very, very interesting information! Looking forward to part 2.
As always, great info Ryan! Nicely done!
GOOD stuff right there!
Wow, thanks for sharing this video. Really enjoyed watching. Looking forward to part two. Keep up the good work Ryan.
Nice video, I love seeing these sod farms at work and where their product ends up.
That was an enormous amount of awesome information! Presented well too, looking forward to part 2 Ryan!
This was awesome. Would love to see more content like this!
Thank you for sharing.
Great work Ryan, thanks
excellent video. great to hear what he had to say
These are awesome! Love this kind of stuff. Great job Ryan.
Great presentation Ryan and very informative. I agree on hand pulling the poa.
Sometimes old school is the best way to go.
What a cool video. I learned so much from this and can wait to see part 2. Keep up the great work!
This guy knows his grass. Excellent video, excellent information. Well done.
That was really interesting. Thanks for sharing.
I loved listening to his POA advice!
Makes me think that I need to get out there an pick the plants that I can see in my lawn!
Great video Ryan! Im looking forward to part 2!
Excellent video Ryan, thank you. Very informative too
Great stuff Ryan! Thank you!
After watching Connor's video, I'd say you have a significantly more luscious mullet foundation. Looking forward to Pt 2. I had no idea that they'd only get 8 games or so before they had to re-sod those playing surfaces. That's a crazy amount of upkeep.
the mullet is back!!
Another “field” trip inspiring content good work this mate! Nice score on the hoodie! Cheers Ryan!
Man! That had to be a great trip to Az.
Love your educational/behind the scenes videos. Can’t wait for part 2. Wish I had tiftuf instead of Tifway. Now I understand why it’s sluggish this time of year compared to other varieties
Good info...and Part 2 should be interesting for sure 👍
Amazing video. I like how you just let him talk too.
very cool video! thanks for what you do duuuuude!
19:10 "sounds old school, sounds like a lot of work" yup pulling them is still best method and it's organic!
Awesome experience
This was really educational .cant wait to start my lawn season.
I live near an agri-college and lots of the fields around me are r&d work. They have turf-grass programs and I always wondered how or why there could be 'degrees in grass'. I had no idea there was such an in-depth industry and so much strategy, effort, and WORK put into GRASS!
Really cool video. Very interesting. Thanks for that.👍
3 feet of snow in my yard and -13F (-25C) this morning - Hello from Yukon Canada
chomping at the bit to get all my lawn stuff out last week when it was in the 70's but decided against it, snow tomarrow, I do need to go back and find your videos of how to start in the spring, still tring to repair after the storm last summer
Very cool! Very impressed by the football turf.
Ryan, awesome information man I ha e learned so much. Love your channel brother.
Awesome video! Hope you enjoyed Arizona.
Very cool!
This is so cool
Love your channel! I hope one day you get to Visit Wimbledon in London! Lawn Tennis!
Very cool stuff!!!
I stumbled upon your channel from looking at simple lawn solutions on Amazon and the amount of information I've learned from your channel is incredible. This video is super cool. Thank you for your time!
Amazing video! Very informative!
Nice job Ryan
Great edit and story line 👌🏾
Just watched this video! I really enjoyed it and felt I was in the conversation listening to the man. Also, congratulations on your UA-cam plaque! 🍾🍻🎉
Great video
Great content from Jimmy. I just might take a short drive over there myself.
Totally amazing part 1 Ryan. Enjoyed hearing the sod farm gentleman and got drawn into his passion for grass. The part of the NFL turf was very insightful. If you ever get a chance to go to Lambeau field (enemy territory for you) they have a different way of handling the NFL. Congrats on your UA-cam button and your mullet 😉
Great Video Ryan
Very informative
Awesome video
Sweet !
Texas A&M is using latitude for its field currently. I was looking at Tiftuf, but I wanted a seed, not sod. The best Bermuda seed out there right now is Monaco bermudagrass. And that's what I'm going for right now. I'm in Texas and seeded 2 weeks ago, I'm just now getting sprouts. So excited!
Love the big hair Ryan, I have my own going, running into a problem, my ears are to small to tuck it behind. Anyway so looking forward to 2021 season! Thank you for the video!!
Freakin amazing video and info man!!!!
Nice grass farm!
Tiftuf is the new king of suburban lawn grass especially for warmer climates if you ask me, no real overall downsides but best of all, looks awesome when maintained.
Ryan in Rye Heaven!
Awesome video! Such interesting content.
I was blown away by how detailed their operation is on such a large scale
Nice lighting for the video. David Fincher style 👌🏼
Really nice people at this sod farm ! They almost always respond to questions and comments on their Twitter account- which is not the norm for most of the turf industry.
I work for a Premium Sod farm in central Washington state . Sand based sod. We do alot of perennial ryegrass and bent grass
anything Bermuda == instant LIke
awesome video!! No clue how folks can down vote some of your videos.
Great video really interesting
I hope you connect with him again very knowledgeable guy
What a fun trip for you!
Ryan Knorr...".grass whisperer."......
I wonder if they ended up growing the tahoma 31 sod for the SuperBowl as well, they had mentioned they were preparing it for 2 years. The field ended up having a lot of footing and slippage issues. Would be interesting to hear what went wrong.
You should do a seed farm next. I have never seen one.
When I built my putting green I sodded it with 777 bentgrass. Went to the farm and picked it up and it was amazing. I only needed 1,200 square feet. They had 162 acres. It was beautiful.
@@ryanknorrlawncare it really is something to see if you love turf. The farm I went to was growing a blend of bentgrass for Congressional Country Club (US Open course) and my dad and I walked a bunch of it. It was mesmerizing. It looked like the turf never ended. Out of the 162 acres, all but 4 acres were already contracted with golf courses.
Love to bring my dogs out there to add a few yellow spots.
Great seeing all those varieties of Bermuda. Did he happen to mention what they use to spray out the rye grass?
Wow! Great vid. How many ideas did you get for when you have your piece of land?🤔
ryan, after the sod is cut the field do they add more soil, my though is over time the field would be much lower
It's really cool to learn about this side of things. Thank you for sharing this with the community, Ryan!
What is the soil degradation like on a large scale sod farm like that? Is is similar to monocropping of something like corn? I'm curious how he keeps the soil rich enough year round on that many acres. Looks as if they are chunking at least an inch of soil on each sod strip
I'm sure Ryan was itching to put down some stripes.
When he says "very good cold tolerance" what is the reference for that? Survive in a cold season area or more like transition zone? Anyone know? TIA
The ultimate rye grass mecca is The Masters at Augusta 😊
👍👍👍
this is in my city!
Do you carry warm season grass i.e. Bermuda grass, on your store?
Wow what a great experience Ryan....thanks for sharing it with us....and looking forward to the next part as well
Glad you enjoyed it
