Hey fellow Michigander! I have been loving the cooler days here too, but its supposed to get hot again... right in time for our anniversary! 🥵 Anyway, my plans were to get our house cleaned as much as possible this week and enjoy the clean spaces for several days, then begin the fall decor closer to the end of September. My knees have been giving me a LOT of trouble thus year and so idk what I will be able to get done. Bc even my summer decor was basically stopped due to the excess pain. I did manage to plant my flowers before they got too bad! I have since returned to tending to my flowers, but these darn mosquitoes are making it nearly impossible! Oh well! I'm planning on planting some mums for fall this week and I want to enjoy them sooner this year! Some of my petunias didn't do very well and so plucking a couple of them out and replacing them with the mums will be a welcome addition!

I have rheumatoid arthritis so I certainly sympathize with your knee pain. I see so many people decorate with neutrals and even though it is beautiful one of the most beautiful things about fall is the all the gorgeous colors and I love that you use them.

I wonder if you've considered posting shorts to your UA-cam channel, since you have so many other exciting things happening in your life...not the heavily edited shorts that take an entire day and compress them into less than a minute - but maybe a once a week short of less than 30 seconds (or even 10!) just of the chickens or kitties or a quick shot of a yummy meal or just a huge load of laundry - lol. That way - you could still do your intended longer videos - but on a much more infrequent schedule - but could keep a weekly connection to your subscribers for any future hobby or business endeavors on UA-cam...sorry if that's too nosey of me to suggest! I am thankful for your channel - no matter what the posting schedule is. I thank you forever for showing me the concept of early fall decorating (apples and more apples!) before Halloween decorating!!! Also - because of your channel - next year we are putting in three large raised beds and trying our hand at growing veggies! I love the large library of videos that you provide to us - it is not only enjoyable - but a large learning resource for so many things! Enjoy your new adventures!!!

I, too have an abundant of tomatoes, I discovered a recipe on Pinterest. It’s a roasted tomato and garlic sauce. Wash the tomatoes, cut up a big onion, a ton of garlic, cut up the tomatoes, add to a big roasting pan. Add olive oil, balsamic vinegar(don’t skimp on these two). Roast on 400 till they are blistered and smelling delish. Take them out, add to your food processor and pulse till smooth. Chefs kiss deliciousness 🧑🍳Dorene Weiss. P.s I freeze in mason jars, you’ll love this simple recipe. Let me know if you try it. 😍

As always Lauren I so love your posts. So good to see Chewy and how happy he is just being with you as you decorate. Continued prayers. I wanted to share my devotional from last night as it was very simple but true. David Jerimiah spoke of the Impala from Africa. It is a creature that can run and leap at great heights with ease. However, if it is put in a small, enclosure it will not attempt to jump and escape. Impalas want to see the ground in front of them and know where their feet will land before they jump. He of course, was making an analogy in regard to having faith in what we cannot see. I know he was speaking in the biblical sense but that seems applicable to many aspects of our life. I love that people can connect through channels like yours who would never meet otherwise. Your channel has been inspiring, fun, and real! So glad you are tweaking it so that you can take that leap of faith in a new career! Off to do some Fall decorating!!!

Research trimming back tomato plants. If you follow this trimming you get a lot more tomatoes from your plants. The sun can get at them much better.

Lauren, love your garden beds!!! My Zucchini sneaks by me making HUGE fruit but my family and I aren’t so thrilled with the end product. If your dipping your toes into canning and preserving your harvest ( I enjoy water bath canning) I recommend turning the zucchini into “ Zucchini Relish” the flavor is soooo delicious! I’ll never use the green stuff in the ketchup, mustard and relish 3 pack ever again. Is so simple and also a great gift for friends and family. Look up the canning recipe magazines at checkout. I’ve made 3 batches myself this summer so far, plus shared a few monster size fruit. You’ll feel such a sense of joy sharing what you have accomplished.

Here in WI, on our 80 acres, we have a mini apple orchard which is almost a 100 yrs old. We cannot use all the apples so we had our Amish friends who have 6 children to come over and pick to their desire. So charming to see the kids have fun picking apples and throwing them to our steers in the pasture. Since we planted corn this yr for the 1st time, I will have our own cornstalk's to decorate with, we also planted pumpkins for the 2nd time.this yr. I was disappointed last yr as the pumpkins were so huge, really huge, as you couldn't use them on the porch of even in the house. We had to sadly put our beautiful 10 yr old kitty down three days ago because cancer had cruelly destroyed her little body. We love our animals because they are family members. Lauren, your channel was the 1st one I found on decorating for fall 2 years ago! Truthfully... the other ones I watch with one exception, are just not as good as your channel is! The fact that you keep your kids off of social media is so smart! Especially since they're all little! Also, I was surprised to find that you found another job and one that is way more involved, but if it is what you love doing, then good for you! ❤Anyhow, this older gal just really wants to say, that I enjoy whatever content you choose you share with us, including and especially your gardening experiences bc I do love gardening and wanted to so badly this year restart our old vege garden, but bc my knees went and decided to throw me a serious curve ball this summer, everything I WAS doing and planning on getting done outside this summer was halted! (Talk abt being frustrated!) I am hoping a procedure I will begin doing in a couple weeks will truly help me get back to being able to be outside much more so I can hopefully complete at least 1 or 2 of the projects I had intended to get done! My husband has a bad back and cannot do a lot of things like he used to. Yes, we're both jacked up! 😂😂 For me, seeing your content being so varied and not just the same as everyone else's... is truly inspiring! You remind me of my mom! I do miss her! Your fall decorating is such an inspiration to me and you have gotten me off my butt and wanting to make my humble home look so much better! Please continue doing your decorating and whatever else you feel that you can! Us ladies who watch you love your more traditional style and since so many others are into the more modern and what I call "everything neutral" bland decor, I get excited when I see your latest videos!!!
Always enjoy your videos, no matter what the schedule. Hope you plan to show some of the remodel in progress. I LOVE watching transformations in process. I agree with Balsam Hill quality, but customer service was poor when the trunk of my Christmas tree bent while storing it upright in the rolling tree bag. Ended up removing the bottom section, making a smaller tree from the remainder. Then removed the limbs from the bottom section that was damaged and use those as picks and fillers for the new tree we bought from Lowe’s. 😄. I had to do something, those BH trees are too expensive to just throw away! But I was disappointed by their lack of concern for a reasonable solution.
