All of the so called usb microscopes being sold today are nothing more than single lens (macro) webcams with a magnification of 25x to 40x tops, with terrible adjustments. They advertise 500x or 1000x but that is outright false advertisement. Your phone camera does as well. These do have a purpose, within their true abilities, such as for basic science, children's use, circuit board inspection, coin and stamp inspection, etc. But do not expect more.
Too many people have incorrect expectations that the magnifications of digital microscopes should mean the same thing as optical microscopes. Optical microscopes multiply objective*eye lens magnifications, but that's because they were originally designed to be viewed thru the eye piece. My computer will not take the mini disc, why is this not explained on the sale page, as I would not have waisted 1 month buying and waiting for postage just to return back to you.
I guess you get what you pay for, I got one that supposed does 1200x. You don’t need it though, just open whatever program uses your computer webcams and it will be an option for it to be used. I can’t figure out how to focus it one it is zoomed. Thank you for showing this though. I’m sure it works amazing for circuit boards and basic stuff.m

Ok. It works fine with my laptop. But it's supposed to work with my Samsung A6 too. I plug into my phone and the light comes on. But the camera screen is the same as it always is. So it doesn't work with my phone. I've tried many different apps at google play service too but none work. 😢

@@johnberry5339 you don't need an electron microscope, that's way over kill, but you do need a professional/lab grade optical microscope at least which will run you upwards of a few hundred dollars for shitty ones up to tens of thousands for good ones (if you want done truly impressive specs you may even need more money than that)

try to put it on your pants and zoom in and out...you miss literraly stick the plastic side to what you want to very closely scan, I can see between each hair of my pants without a problem...I can even see a little through skin with the light and even woodm cellulose etc....try putting it directly onto the object ;) BTW marijuan trichomes are awesome to look at...even the smallest dust of a leaf is beautiful
Why dont you maximize the image, to fill the whole screen, by simply clicking on the little square icon to the left of the red X in the top right corner ???? derrrrrrrrr !!!!!!!

dude this thing is garbage! Ive been messing with it for the last 2 hours. When I finally got everything assembled, I tried focusing the camera just once & it fell apart on me. I tried snapping the focus piece & black end back together, but it wont stick! So now I can mount the damn thing! Please don't waste your money on this!

This works like classic webcam. So you can use any streaming software. Only the maximal video resolution 640x480 is pretty low and frustrating.

Google amcap viewer, scroll past the ad and get latest the version(2016 most likely) but you probably figured that out by now...

I had same problem my small cd kept falling out. so I had to lay my pc tower on its side just while installation was complete... :)

No, you need an electron microscope for that. totally different and more expensive... :)

You have to learn to use it....the good way...takes practice...its all in placement
