The Asian water monitor is the second largest lizard after the Komodo.

Monitor lizards are amazing creatures. I unfortunately like most people, simply don't have the time, space and budget to keep such big reptiles as pets. Which is why I am so glad your channel provides an up close view of them. Kenan, you really need to go on a trip to Southeast Asia and Australia as one of your bucket list item. Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore is home to the Asian Water monitors as well as other monitors like the Clouded monitor or Dumeril’s monitor. And in Australia you have the goannas like the Perentie and Lace Monitor. Last but definitely not least, you absolutely have to go Komodo National Park in Indonesia, home of the famous Komodo dragons.

You would definitely be able to add a female with Slinky, the other half of his habitat is definitely fully developed.
You should get a Komodo Dragon because those get longer like slinky does, and Komodo Drangon could run and swim and climb stuff

I watch all your videos but Slinky must have just had a major growth spurt! He is huge!! Where would he rank on the scale of your animals? Is he above or below the smaller crocodilians? He is obviously below the top 2.

Does slinky use his whole habitat? I feel like dividing up his enclosure for a female would work so well, like you originally imagined. It seems like we only see slinky on one side of the enclosure, maybe with a wall/door on the inside, slinky could get used to it before there’s actually another female for him.
I would hate to see Slinky's habitat reduced. I'm sure they could build another cage on the side, with a connecting door. The king needs ALL of his kingdom!
As I watch this, prior to 12:30 PM EST, 10 Nov 2023, I can't get teaser image of the Croc Monitor with the mouse in his mouth out of my head!

Yes, I have seen cats with mice in their mouths.
It was far less disturbing to see a kitten eat a small spider in front of me than to see a live mouse wriggle around in my last cat's mouth.
I'm used to seeing the feeding INSIDE the video not presentation on the front-end.
Then again, I HAVE seen old Tom & Jerry cartoons where Jerry cut Tom up into ham slices and Tom somehow pulled himself back together again!
Oh well. Cartoon versus reality. That's probably why I can also watch Evil Dead movies, too. Evil Dead is like 3 Stooges with prosthetic make up...

He is bleeding from both the top and bottom of the right side of his mouth and having a hard time with his food , his mouth must hurt.

Is something wrong with his mouth that’s why there was blood an he’s taking so long- she didn’t have blood on her “lips”
Kenan pointed out, that chase can have swollen gums from his teeth chewing and growing constantly. It's nothing serious or detrimental
Unlike Alligators and crocodiles/Sharks that continue to loose and replace teeth: Croc Monitors have no choice but to deal with the long teeth: I would suggest getting them filed down by a local exotic vet at Busch gardens Tampa Bay Zoo(but until Kenan sees it's a concern) I wouldn't worry about it
