LOL, you are winning me over. While getting ready for my first all day crop (hosted by a local Creative Memories consultant) I was having trouble keeping track of all the photos I wanted to scrap. They kept disappearing on me. So I downloaded the picture envelope sleeve from your website. They work great. I made one for each layout, put the pictures in, labeled the tab and then put them in a container that kept them upright. Once I chose my papers the photo sleeve went in the same individual large bag I had for that layout. Saved me hours of frustration getting ready for the crop and kept me organized at the crop. So thank you very much for your great organizational ideas. I’ve been scrapping for 25 years and I’m still learning.
Lauren, I am really excited about your Progress Planner. I had read Stacy Julian’s Photo Freedom and was trying to picture how I would use her system for my photos. Every time I worked out how I wanted to do things I would misplace my notes. I think that your planner system will help me keep my ideas organized and in one place.
Thank you for all the work and attention to detail you have put in to this series. I didn’t start scrapbooking until my children were teenagers, so I can see how your process will help me organize those older photos and start getting those big moments albums started!
I am so very glad I stumbled upon your channel. I have my whole life (I'm 68 now) as well as my married life to get busy scrapbooking. You have inspired me. I was a CM consultant back in the early 90s abs tet, never made a single scrapbook of my own. Just for friebds and as gifts.
I thought I was an organized scrapbooker but your system is above and beyond anything I have ever seen. This is going to help me complete albums so much faster.
Lauren, these videos and ideas are so fantastic! I love your Big Moments idea for albums; I had family albums (2 to 3 a year) from about 2002 to 2008 when my girls were little and then after 2010 I stopped and started doing theme albums for trips, etc. So now I can get caught up from 2011 by making a few Big Moments album, etc. I am working on theme albums for Holidays and traditions and just completed a Thanksgiving album, Halloween album and working on a Pumpkin Carving/Patch album, Beach album, Christmas album, Cutting down the Christmas Tree album, Easter, in addition to theme travel albums and the girls school and activities albums and it has been so rewarding to just have to add the current year and family can enjoy the albums at gatherings and re-live the moments. So now I am working on your POP system and it's brought back the Joy in scrapbooking so Thank you! I also have used your link several times to buy plastic sleeves, labels and sticker paper and my craft room is really getting organized!
I had been using the power layout boxes for years. But I kind of fell off the bandwagon as I never seemed to have the time to go through my stash and organize the photos with some papers for the layouts. I did do this again last fall to get ready for a weekend out of town crop I was going to in January. Decided that I was going to have to just keep on doing this as it makes me so much more efficient in getting pages done. Part of the reason being as I am now limited to what supplies I have for that page. I am really enjoying your process in organization. I was not going to follow your planner idea but have now changed my mind as the more I listen the more I realize that this will be so beneficial for me to get things done once I have done all the hard work. Can't wait to have time to review the next video. My memory planner has been ordered and I'm going to get started on working on my planning pages.
This is so brilliant, thank you so much!! Little by little I get it *LOL.. Plus I never knew what and how those Power layouts were suppose to be used!!! ;-)
I can see this way working for me once I get to my digital photos but as I have gaps in 1970s and 1980s photos pre digital I probably would scrap most of these and get some copied for my theme albums of my kids who come along in 1977, 1979 and 1987. So am unsure of Library of Memories for my pre digital. I have Christmas Albums from 1974 when I first married with some gaps. I also have theme albums for each of my kids which I am trying to work through and fill in gaps along with my early photos 1952 - 1972 and both my parents albums and my late husbands 3 Tribute Albums which I think would be under theme but I do have them chronologically.
How do you remember all the events from so many years ago? Is it by looking at your photo library? I love your series. I am so excited to scrapbook again! Thank you so much.
I love the power layout box, it has always been a great tool. Can you tell me if your doing your big moments album and then doing another album at the same time, do you ever use the same photos? I love your amazing videos, you are helping me get organised so much. I am so great full for all your information. Thank you so much for sharing Lauren xx
I just remembered one more thing I wanted to ask you. Can you do a short tutorial showing us more details about Keywords? I use a Mac as well, but have no idea how to use keywords. You mentioned you were able to group all of your pics you'd selected for one album and assigning them all a keyword at the same time. (Or if you wouldn't mind just explaining it here in response to my comment?) I would so appreciate that tip. Thanks!
Yes, great question! I will try to cover more of this as we go through, but when you are in photos, go to window, then click on keyword manager. It gives suggestions or you can add your own by clicking edit. Once it’s there, it will stay there and you will have it to chose from.
Thanks for all the wonderful info. I’m trying to order the pencil you use. I have the brand but may need additional info. Looking on Amazon and it shows the pencil in gray and black.
Thanks for all of your detailed explanations. I'm just wondering if you ever do single page layouts? It seems like you always do only 2 page layouts. What do you do when you don't have enough pictures for a 2 page layout? I like the concept of being able to see how many pages you'll have in an album, but I rarely do 2 page layouts. (It's interesting. When I started and was solely using CM products, I only did 2 page spreads.) I like the flexibility of doing how many pages for one event that I want to. Just curious about your thoughts on all of that. I have to say though - I do appreciate your photo/story focus. So many people are making 1 picture layouts these days with tons of product. It doesn't seem practical. It's like it's more art expression, than photo/ memory driven. Which is fine, if that's what they want to do. For me, I'm trying to preserve memories and the stories. Anyway, I appreciate all the help getting organized.
It’s funny, Wendy, but I do love 2 page spreads, and if I don’t have enough pictures then I usually find a way of bringing two events together with a common color theme. I will be curious once I get into LOM scrapping, because I will have more 1-page layouts I am thinking. I may end up not scrapping directly on the page so I can move things around until I’m happy with the order. Thanks for the comment about photo/story based scrapping- that is definitely my gig!
Hi hazel, I put them on the edge of my ages so that the flap lays on top of the page protector, but the adhesive is stuck on the page. I think I showed this in my winterberry video...
Have my new cart, hubby won’t let me use it till I’m in my new room as I don’t really have space. Do you have a video about using Photos as I get palpitations every time I go into it? Biggest problem we got a digital SLR and never knew it had a separate battery for the date info so we have hundreds of photos all dates the default date. - ugh!! Love the idea now I have had it explained clearly to me.
I have a couple of questions. What do you do if CM stops producing and album colour you are using? Secondly, do you have any process videos on doing power layouts. I have tried it in the past, but I am not very good at it and would like to improve.
Can I ask about overlap? For example you said you wanted to cover Ellen's 5th grade promotion in your big moments album but wouldn't that also be in Ellen's theme album? Does it depend if you are making albums for other people but for your own albums you wouldn't scrap the pictures more than once. For example, if I am making a themed holiday album about a trip to Barcelona in 2014 I would not include that in my big events 2014 album. Hope this makes sense.
Hi Julie, yes great question. It does depend on where you are putting the photos. I do see mine duplicated in family and Ellen but I also see I would probably have more detail and more photos in Ellen’s album, since it was all about her, and eventually I see her having her own albums to share with her family. So sometimes I let the pictures form the pages... if that makes sense. There may be times you want a few snapshots of an event in a big moments album, but it would be on a very small scale...it’s all your choice!❤️
I am making progress in following along. I appreciate the Red River link. I contacted them about the printer I was considering buying and they were helpful. It was on sale and I BOUGHT IT. IT ARRIVED YESTERDAY. YIPPEE. I have been struggling with this choice for several years- 5-6 in fact. I can't wait to dig in. I spent a whole day trying to locate an inexpensive Happy Planner, and ended up deciding to print your organizer for a 3-ring binder. I too, have a 15-20 year old power layout box that I LOVE USING. MY ELASTIC IS WONKY TOO I should try this trick. Can we still get them? As a CM consultant long ago, I would do this with clients and in about 2 hours we would completely plan out their album. So fun!
I also watched Stacy Julian's class Photo Freedom. Interesting and challenging. I am deleting, tagging and describing photos. I have to learn more about using the photo software on my Mac to track what I print. Need to watch your videos on printing at home.
Linda Holt Do you mind telling me which printer you bought? I’m comparing Canon printers but don’t think I need the Crafter’s printer that prints 12x12. Seems like it would take too much ink to be cost effective.

Thanks for the comment Debby! You will be the envy of the crop❤️😊

Nice! So glad it could help!
Love your tracking sheets. Great explanations. I will be binge-watching POPs 1-3. Thank goodness for a Federal Holiday today!
Love this❤️ thanks Liliana! Hope you enjoy!

Glad they can help you Tina! Step by step...use what you need😁

I really needed the big moments idea . Glad this was on UA-cam, I need to see it again

INSPIRED!!! I’m SO EXCITED to get on board with this system and approach to get projects planned and completed.
Thanks Jayne!!! It is time to get organized and get scrapping!!
Great idea with the elastic!
Love your ideas, they are really helping me plan and think through albums I need to catch up on. Thank you Lauren!
I am loving this series. Thank you so much!!!!!
So glad it’s helping Patricia! You are welcome 😉❤️
I am learning so much from your videos!
Thank you Christina! ❤️⭐️

I just love this series I wish I didn’t have to wait between episodes :) love your plan and process and how you think about everything.
Thank you Lea! I wish I could make them faster, too!🤩

I have the original Power Sort How to Handout and will post to the Facebook POP page when I get a chance some time this weekend
Thanks Lisa! More to come on power layouts!!

I don't know how to do that either.
Wendy England yes, that would be great. I know I don’t use Photos on my Mac to it’s potential!
I have a love hate relationship with it!

Do you stick the peekaboo on the page protector as you can’t open them if you use page protectors?
Hi hazel, I put them on the edge of my ages so that the flap lays on top of the page protector, but the adhesive is stuck on the page. I think I showed this in my winterberry video...
CraftSomeJoy that’s smart. Will check out the video. Thanks.
I have at least 25 Power Layout Guides. It’s a great product to help create a two page spread to help create and finish up your albums

Hi Hazel, yes I will be talking more about photos and digital organizing in a future video, so stay tuned. Some easy tips and you will be good to go!
CraftSomeJoy great as I get so fed up searching the internet for how to’s
Once you print a photo do you delete it or still save it digitally?
Where can I get a Progress Planner like yours.
I have a couple of questions. What do you do if CM stops producing and album colour you are using? Secondly, do you have any process videos on doing power layouts. I have tried it in the past, but I am not very good at it and would like to improve.

Where are your pencils from?
I am making progress in following along. I appreciate the Red River link. I contacted them about the printer I was considering buying and they were helpful. It was on sale and I BOUGHT IT.
