Not 'epic' in the current day common sense, people throw that word around to describe every mediocre thing. But epic in the sense that it builds and builds, it culminates, it changes, it takes you somewhere. At least, that is how I experienced it. Let me know your thoughts.

Great stuff. I’m terrible when it comes to genre, so we’ll have to leave that to y’all…

Since you are asking for people's thoughts I might as well comment. I would like to see some more actual jamming in your "jam" videos. In my opinion these are more an in studio track performance than a jam. I'd like to see some improvisation, meaningful tweaks, and actual keyboard playing. These types of jams are why people go dawless because from the viewers perspective it appears you are just playing an ableton set and barely interacting with the gear.

I get you, I try to do more live keyboard playing but sometimes it doesn't work out. I think my jams are not jams in the sense that everything is made up on the spot in that exact moment. But it's the sum of its parts. And all parts are created while jamming. And when I hear something worthwhile, I keep the MIDI recording. So basically, the endproduct is very little jamming how you describe it, how I get there is me twiddling every knob and connecting every patchpoint (except the 2600, I'm having trouble 'getting' it 😵‍💫).

@fromhillrecords I love your tracks but agree with the previous post. You have the talent brother, have a look at how Kebu performs to get an idea. You don't have to memorise a ton of stuff, just some live performance will make a huge difference man.

My keyboard skills are nowhere near Kebu 😅. And I like to sequence drums live. Maybe I want to do too much and 'play it safe'. Thanks for chiming in!

@@fromhillrecords Kebu is not really jamming from what I know but performing completely written tracks where everything is set up and nothing is improvised. Jamming doesn't have to be entirely made up on the spot but there should be an element of spontaneity. Imagine a 5 piece band where someone shows up to the jam with a riff they made up and the band just jams on the riff for 20 minutes or whatever. They aren't necessarily writing a song but exploring the riff and textures that might work over it. For my own jams I set up around 75% of the parts ahead of time but the order of the parts is made up on the spot. Anything with a keyboard I try to play it in the jam because even if it's bad it makes the jams more personal. Sometimes bad or average playing can be relatable and some people like relatable videos. As for the 2600 it's a tricky synth to get a handle on. ua-cam.com/video/uozhamHxgSs/v-deo.html this video might be helpful for some general use tips.

@@Bata9999 Yeah so I'm probably doing more of a studio performance instead of a jam. I think my main problem (well, more a challenge)is: I want to sequence the drums live, I want to include fx, I want to play live, I want to alter timbres, filters etc. I'm even practising using the Push 2 to live punch-in loops.
And I feel the result of that is that I don't commit to a certain performance set. I'm doing everything a bit. Which looks like I'm not doing much (sometimes that's true). It's also hard te keep track of in my mind, because I make these things in 1 afternoon so there's little to no practice.
