DELIGHTED I found your channel this morning. When I owned a home, (sold 4 months ago) my crafting, sewing closet was a treasure cave like yours. So fun and precarious to search. Your grandmothers girdle with stocking brackets, I would have saved too.
I love the new intro! Seeing you work on your sewing with real-life interruptions is so valuable. Sometimes I feel like I'll never finish anything, but I can how you continue to work through it all and it keeps me going! Thank you for sharing all of the process, not just the good parts 💕
It came out so cute!!! And as a mom (my youngest it now 17), thank you for reminding me of those glorious, love filled, frustration filled, exhausting days of when my children were littles.
Thank you❤ I think I'll miss these days so much when they're both bigger, but not gonna lie, sometimes I look forward to having some more me time too 😅
You need to put a warning label on this video! Cuteness overload, between your baby girl and that dress it's too much cuteness. Just kidding. I loved it. Thank you for sharing her with us.
A 1 hour 1920s dress? Sounds like a project runway challenge for some reason and I tried making a dress in one hour and it was 1920s style but I put the gathers on my actual waist to give me a bit of shape there since I'm wide from front to back and I have a more Edwardian shape since my spine sorta bends like an S-Curve style because of my posture. It actually looks kinda 1950s does 1920s.
As long as it gives you a fabulous dress that you're happy with, who cares?😊 there could've been some folks who did that back then too for all we know 🤷♀️
Can you make that same dress again in a more drapey fabric like some kind of polyester blend that lays flat? I have a lot of vintage polyester fabric that I didn't know what to make with it. This dress would be perfect.
Thanks!😊 I drafted the pattern myself, but I've included a link in the description box to a blog by the Closet Historian that describes how to draft your own.
@@GwensShenanigans Thank you I just found it will give it a go I like yours out of all the ones I have seen. The colour, the collar and the embellishments a lovely. Thanks for getting back to me promptly I do appreciate it. Cheers Tricia.
Look at her and her shoe! I have a grandson who takes just one shoe if anyone’s & makes off with it. The person without that shoe literally runs around the house looking for that shoe! 😂
Well clearly this one isn't. The term 1-hour dress is used here to indicate the type of dress, the 1-hour dress of the 1920s, named so because you could hypothetically make one 1 an hour.
So pretty! There isn't enough 20s content on UA-cam, I feel like most of the vintage community focuses on the 40s/50s, so this was fun to watch.
Glad to hear it! I got a new 1920s video coming up soon I hope😊
Love the dress. The embellishments added much to the dress.
Thank you! I'm glad you like them🤗
Very nice job of covering up the holes! It’s adorable.♥️👍
Thank you!🩷
So cool with the appliques!
Thanks!🩷
One of the coolest fitting/cut one hour dresses i ve seen. The flower idea is nice.
Thank you! I keep improving the pattern a little bit each time I use it.
turned out super cute. I am glad you showed how to draft the collar as it was a nice touch.
Thank you! It was just my chaotic method as I suck too much at pattern drafting. I never thought people might actually find it interesting😄

Hurray for treasure sewing caves🤗❤️

Well, ditto! The way you keep on going with those projects that take so. Much. Time. To knit inspires me🙂

suuuper cool dress and I really love how you honestly share the work process, kids and interruptions and unexpected holes and all
Thanks Alexia!😘😊
I could have done without the recorded interruptions, even though kids are cute.
This is the best One Hour Dress I've seen on UA-cam! Love the embellishments!
What a lovely compliment, thank you so much!
The dress is adorable. Meanwhile, I want one of those bouncy horses... it looks like fun.
Thanks! They are a riot, I speak from experience 😆
I so relate to the struggle of trying to sew while parenting young children! You are right; they do not make things easy!
They SO do not😂 one day we'll look back and marvel at all the things we managed to make despite all that and be amazed😉
Lovely! You did such a good job, with sewing, embellishing, and mothering. 😍
Thank you!😄
That design looks fantastic on you. It's the best one hour dress I've seen.
Thank you! What a wonderful compliment 💖
I would love to see your vintage stash from your grandma and how you plan to use it. Love the dress. So inspiring!
Maybe I'll do a video if I can find everything in that chaos household of mine😆
I am sure all mom's and crafters can identity!!
This turned out adorable and I love the way you dropped at the collar, that's genius, and so much easier than trying to measure and flat draft
Year, if I'd have to draft that...no. Just no😂
Wonderful dress! Wonderful video!
Also, those socks you are wearing as you seek out your felt stash are super cute!❤
Thank you! They were a hand knitted gift from my bandmate❤
Absolutely enchanting!
Thank you!💚
Beautiful dress!
Thank you!
Oh mama! The creative process with kids is a thing! The dress is also adorable!
I'm a 1940s fan, but I still enjoyed this video very much. Your closet and mine look quite similar.
Thank you! ❤

Hahaha thank you😄❤ I couldn't resist☺
Jane here. That's a lovely dress. I really like the addition of the felt flowers.
Thanks! I'm a big fan of felt applique 😊
A white sailor collar would be darling on that dress.
Yes, definitely!😊
wow , the dress is beautiful, moreeeeee please!!!!!!
Thanks so much!🥰
Cuff? I don’t know the word either. What a lovely dress.
Thank god I'm not the only one😄 and thank you!
Hi, new to your channel. I love the 20s too. Love the dress.
Thanks and welcome!
Kid walks right over my pattern...yep sounds about right just like my household! lol
Glad I'm not the only one😂
Love and interruptions! Is there a better defenition for the word "mother"?
Excellent point😄
That looks sooooo comfy and cute!
Thanks! It is indeed a pretty comfy dress🙂
It’s adorable!
Thank you!💚
It turned out so cute!
Thank you!😃
the music on your videos always makes me so happy :D Thankyou
Thanks Annabelle! I'm happy to hear it! Finding the right music is important to me, so I'm glad you like it😊
Lovely!!!
Thanks mom😘

Yes, if I would make it again I'd definitely try a more drapey fabric! I've no great love for polyesther though😅
Super cute
Thank you!
Super cute!
Thank you!🙂
Very nice!
Thank you!❤️
Love your videos you keep it real. Where did you get the pattern would love to make it. Thank you have a great day. Cheers Tricia

@@Pke6853 cool! Happy sewing and thank you so much for your ko-fi donation, I appreciate it so much❤
Very nice
Thanks!
Jaren 20 staat je zo leuk!
Dankjewel 😘 het is ook zo comfortabel en makkelijk en snel om te maken. Top combinatie wat mij betreft 😁
I really like those applications. Can you post a link to the original article ?
Oh, I knew I forgot something 😅 will do!
@@GwensShenanigans thank you ! :)
Dolman sleeves. I hate them. But I had to live in 2 dresses that had them for 6 months just to make sure. Roflmbo
Well at least now you know for certain😂
Look at her and her shoe!

*of anyone’s
He turned one in October last year.❤
Hehehe, that's the kind of chaos energy I really appreciate 🩷
Maybe im silly, but i am a new sewer...it confused me how the sideseams go in a straight line, but then pleats are done at the side?
Look up a pattern for a 1920s 1 hour dress, it shall become clear 😊
if this is done in 1 hour, then i am mary poppins

Very 😍
Thanks!🙂❤
Really, it’s just a drop-waist dress. I’ve been wearing them since the 1960s. Making one today.
Enjoy!
Intro too long
Sorry.
Just the dress- please? All that other is fine, but off topic and distracting. We only have so long to live.
That's not how I roll, Wanda.
