Humic acid is a naturally occurring substance that is found in soil, peat, and coal. It is a complex mixture of organic molecules that have a number of beneficial effects on plant growth.
· Improves nutrient uptake
· Increases water retention
· Improves soil structure
· Promotes root growth
· Increases resistance to stress
Here are some of the ways to apply humic acid to your plants:
· Soil application: Humic acid can be applied to the soil as a liquid or powder. It is best to apply it when the soil is moist.
· Foliar application: Humic acid can also be applied to the leaves of plants as a foliar spray. This is a good way to get the humic acid to the roots quickly.
· Compost tea: Humic acid can also be added to compost tea. This is a good way to make the nutrients in the compost tea more available to the plants.
However, as a general rule of thumb, you should use 1-2 pounds of humic acid per 100 square feet of garden. For potted plants, use 2 tablespoons per cubic foot of potting mix.
When choosing a humic acid product, it is important to choose one that is high quality and that has been tested for purity. It is also important to follow the directions on the label carefully.
