Tailwaters Fly Fishing Co. and The Palometa Club present a film short that highlights some of the fly fishing action and good times from the 5th Annual Palometa Club Permit Tourney.
This video features Caribbean saltwater fly fishing in Ascension Bay, Mexico out of Punta Allen, as well as budding friendships, unique experiences, and above all, a week of fun, good food, and lots of tail.

Many years ago, I took my wife to Boca Pilia which I believe is north of Punta Allen. It is a small Fishing lodge also on the Ocean Side with Ascension Bay. We saw schools of Bonefish so thick it looked like you could walk across them. The first Permit I hooked turned and left a HOLE in the water when it took off. Permit are a spectacular fish that will break your heart because they actually rub their nose in the sand in an attempt to get the hook out. What that does is fray the line in short order so the guide told me to repeatedly bang my free hand on the reel and rod... it sends vibrations down the line and causes the fish to run again. It works..! I fought a "GRANDE PERMIT" for thirty minutes only to have the hook pull out..! 😨
Gentleman... this is a Bucket List Trip..! Go and you will see.
