Edit: If we take Boruto into account, Gaara's Taijutsu skills are explicitly stated to be on par with Naruto's and he can keep up with Ototsuki so... yeah he melts

The thing is, though, the sand clones would be sand all throughout, or they wouldn't move like a real person would. With her ability to sense the Earth, she'd be able to sense the differences between the clones and the real deal based on how they moved and junk.

......mmmmmm......no. Chakra is very diverse. But a rock is still a rock. Water even if infused with chakra is still water. Air is strong enough to level a forest but its still air. Fire and lighting as well. Toph took Gaara's weapon against himself. Even if sand is a pain for Toph to deal with she can change its composition on the fly. Seals are still needed to make greater jutsu to focus and stabilize them. Gaara's mothers chakra can move fast but it has to stop moving at one point. All this extra movement Gaara has to do to attack. Toph just shifts her foot.

If any match needs a rematch it’s this one. It’s not even that Toph won, it’s that Gaara had to be dumbed down to lose. He watches Toph bend earth, she tells him she can sense his sand, and he decides to… keep throwing it at her. He _still_ uses sand armor after this? He decides the best course of action is to lock himself in a sand dome against someone who could’ve just created a pit under him? Brain power at 0. He watched her survive sand coffin and thought it’d work out if he just threw more sand at her? Yeah, okay.
Pretty sure what actually happens in the animated fight isn't as important as the results. That's just some flavor done for our entertainment. Also what else can he do? His whole kit relies on sand. That's his thing. Is he suddenly gonna whip out fireballs, and lightning out of nowhere?

He wouldn't stand around letting her control his sand or any around him for one. It'd be a stalemate. In the show Toph has never been shown to be able to bend two versions of the same element at once. I don't remember her ever metalbending _and_ earthbending at the same time. Yet here she's the earth Avatar. Gaara wouldn't fight stupidly. He learned Kimmimaro was too tough to crush normally and fought smarter. He didn't just use sand waterfall because a lot of sand = drown. There are two ways Toph can win. She takes hostages like Deidara or she surprises him legitimately, not by him exhausting his chakra for no reason, taking a break in his bubble, and still being tired. Not even mentioning that Toph has to be faster than him. That's the only way a fight like this wouldn't be them just playing tug of war for five minutes. Plus if they can use DVD extras and comics for Toph, the results could've only been fair if they used the databooks for Gaara. _He has wind and lighting release._ Him never using them doesn't change what the databooks say, and IV came out in 2014. He had more battle experience at 12 than Toph had in her whole life.

She's won tournaments, fought a war against enhanced fire benders, and even defeated bending masters with more experience than her multiple times. She's done many impressive feats like slowing down the sinking of a massive library, and a giant drill. Where she lack in experience she make up for with raw power. Even if Gaara didn't supply her with sand, she could just get resources from the surrounding area, and if Gaara went of the defensive, and they had "equal control of the sand" I'm pretty sure Toph can break through it. Once she was able to break an iron ship in half with a single strike. And the Toph they used in the fight may be the young, but that's because it's more recognisable. They're really using a composite version, so it includes the experience of her older versions as well.

And the very concept of metal bending is manipulating multiple sources of minerals, as certain metals are a composition of different minerals. She was able to match King Bumi, a very talented and strong earth bender with over a hundred years of experience, and I never said Toph has more experience than Gaara. I implied that she herself has certain amount of experience. Like I said Toph is a really heavy hitter and also very strong, she was able to slow down a giant sinking library, and broke a battle ship in half with a single strike. She did this while on her own ship, raising a pillar of rock from deep under water in a mater of seconds. Gaara's armor has definitely broken with weaker attacks, add on to that Toph could also manipulate his armor herself further weakening it. And technically both of these two attacking each other will just supply one other with more ammunition, but the difference is Toph is attacking with sand, stone and metal, while Gaara still has to breakdown the stones. Also Gaara needs chakra to use his abilities, while Toph doesn't have such limitations.
My man is capable of reacting to amateratsu,block village level explosions, cover a whole forest of sand, fly wherever he wants. but he loses to a child with some rocks.

I think the biggest failure of judgement here has to be this: Earth bending requires actual physical movement for them to actually bend earth (apart from remote earth bending, where Toph has never actually needed to do this and we have only seen Bumi (who required a great deal of concentration to pull it off) and Aang (in avatar state) do it). Gaara manipulates sand with his mind, and his ultimate defence doesn't even need thought it's basically a reactive armour. Gaara could quite literally encase Toph in sand, immobilizing her, and crushing her way before she could be even afforded the opportunity to even amass a pebble to launch at him.
That wouldn't work cuz as we seen before, toph has submerged herself in the earth it self to move as transportation. If Gaara covered her completely in sand she could just bend a hollow opening inside of it all for her to be in. She doesn't rly have to move to be able to do that also. Aslong as something earth related touches her hand or feet or even her body itself she can bend it she's done it b4

They only talked about Garras sand related jutsu which aren’t his only jutsu, they didn’t bring up Shukaku at all, nor did they talk about the fact that Toph just doesn’t have the speed feats to deal with Garras sand even Rock Lee couldn’t and he was beyond sound speed bare minimum by the time he fought Garra so idk this Death Battle didn’t feel very thought out

Metal would work too, as long as it is made as pure as possible. The purer the metal, the less earth in the metal. Meaning using the purest form of any metal would be effective as well.
Gaara can fly and can make his sand fly! Toph wouldn't even be able to see where he is much less send rocks at him. And his sand would stop her boulders with no problem cause he held up a meteorite before. Also the amount of sand he can control would've overwhelmed her. This fight isn't well thought at all

They were being asked questions at roughly 11 years old that were comparable to college calculus and physics combined with real-world application instead of "perfect" situations without external factors

Honestly, i've never downvoted a Screwattack Death Battle before, not even the Pokemon Battle Royale and Ryu vs Scorpion (Which were terribly done, by the way), but this one is getting downvoted. There's so many assumptions made in Toph's favour it's not even funny. 1. That she can practically use Sandbending in combat- She can't. She has NEVER shown any practical use of it in the entire series. 2. That her metal armor can allow her to withstand a Sand Burial. It can't. There have to be holes in the armor, or she'd suffocate when she tried to wear it.. The sand goes through there, splats Toph completely, game over. 3. That Toph's final attack in this animation would kill Gaara. He took two meteorites to the face in quick succession and lived. HOW would that last attack kill Gaara when MADARA UCHIHA (Who is leagues more powerful than even Aang) couldn't? 4. Gaara running out of Chakra is highly, highly unlikely. He lasted through the Entire 4th Shinobi World War without running low on Chakra. And this was WITHOUT Shukaku. 5. That Gaara actually uses Gold Dust in his attacks- he doesn't. There has never been any mention of him adding Gold Dust to his sand. He has only been shown to manipulate it, not actively use it. 6. That Gaara's experience in controlling sand would easily be overcome by Toph's, even though Toph only trained for one year, whereas Gaara's had 18 years worth. 7. That Toph is fast enough to actually avoid or redirect Gaara's attacks before they kill her- Nope, nope, nope. ROCK LEE couldn't do it without opening The Eight Inner Gates. Sorry, Screwattack, but this Death Battle is by far your worst work yet. This makes Pokemon Battle Royale look WELL-MADE. That's how bad it is.

I’ve been an Avatar fan for a long time, and been biased to choose Toph when I saw the video. But I’ve seen Naruto all the way through for the first time just recently, and oh man what was I thinking! There’s NO WAY Gaara should have lost.
Not that this was a factor back when they made the video, but he's gotten even stronger in Boruto. It's made very clear he's on or at least close to Naruto and Sasuke's level as an adult, and they're basically gods by that point. Toph is a cool character too but Gaara is so far past any Avatar character it's downright depressing what they did to him here.

Ok, let me tell you why that's bullshit (THIS IS LONG) 1. Gaara's sand is infused with both his own chakra and he also has the sand infused by his mother. Toph isn't bending regular sand so to assume she can just use and redirect it like normal and doesn't make sense. It's basically controlling someone else, so it would fall under the category of bloodbending which is extremely hard to master and takes years of practice. 2. Gaara's chakra reserves are massive due to the fact that he was born already being a jinchuriki He has enough chakra to fight in the majority of the 4th Great Ninja war without a break. he wouldn't run out for a while and absolute defense isn't dependent on his chakra and doesn't run out when he runs out meaning that it would still protect him. 3. Also Gaara doesn't keep his sand armor on 24/7 anymore since shippuden, it only if he needs to use it to conserve his chakra 4. As for Toph surviving the giant sand burial, the metal would have not fully protected her. When Gaara did the same to Kimimaro, he survived because his bones were stronger than tempered steel along with the fact that he had the curse mark to add to his durability, the metal Toph was using would most likely dent, crushing her. 5. Toph can see all of Gaara's attacks yes, but if she cannot react to them then there is no point. Gaara sand was fast enough to keep up with Rock Lee back in Naruto and it has only gotten faster since then, Toph has never shown speed even close to Lee in Naruto, so she definitely would not be able to keep up with Gaara from shippuden since he was able to stop the raikage mid attack when he was about to attack sasuke. 6. Gaara can make sand clones to throw Toph off since she would have no way of knowing who was the real Gaara. 7. Toph isn't known for taking hits too well, she's more of a glass cannon, though she is very powerful, her body int as sturdy as the rock she bends. A few good hits would end her. 8. Giving Toph Gold dust doesn't add to her power in anyway 9. Even if Toph could bend all of his sand and keep up with the speed, which we proved she can't without practicing bending sand infused with chakra, spirit, ect. she in no way has the speed required to react, dodge or direct the attack. Also keep in mind that Gaara is a decent tactician, he was the one who found out he could pull Madara from his Susano'o, he would be able to last long enough to find out what Toph was doing Toph is a beast don't get me wrong, but Gaara is just out of her league.

Since Gaara is covered in sand in this death battle she would only see sand covered "Gaaras" she has no way of telling them apart if he has his and armor on. And by your logic, since sand is just sand, even though it is infused with chakra, a living substance, and the sand infused with a soul, that means blood bending (which is what its called) is just bending liquid in the body and can be done instantly with no adjustment or practice at all, but it cant. It's like saying, if you can bend rock you can instantly adjust to bending lava Bending this sand would fall under the category of specialized bending techniques because it isnt ordinary sand. Bending something new takes time to adjust to it, which is why you don't see every earth bender bending lava, or every water bender blood bending. Gaara's sand would offer some resistance considering it's basically has its own will, making Toph unable to bend it or atleast throwing Toph's bending off.

As we've seen in the episode where Appa went missing, she has no problem with condensed sand and even if there is an argument to be made about that, she clearly has learned all forms of earthbending, including mudbending which is half-water Sand is no issue if she can bend something that is not even in her element.

Wait, with his sand, Gaara can FLY. He can simply float in the air and muffle the sounds he makes (like breathing and his heartbeat) with his sand layers and Toph would have no clue where he was until he hit her with his attacks, which, by the way, don't necessarily have to be with earth-based materials. +crzymn246 But she can sense his sand.... and his armour. She can *always* "see" him. And yes, in Avatar all bending is done from chi, the equivalent to Chakra. Manipulation can be done if the manipulator's bending is more skillful or much stronger than the victim's. Toph spends her whole life, awake, asleep, whatever, using her bending on a microscopic scale to sense her surroundings. She is one with any earth she comes into contact with. She is as skilled with her element as it is possible for her to be, and she has a great deal of natural power to compliment it. You could debate that Gaara is better with sand specifically, but even so Toph has far more versatility and can manipulate the gold within the sand as well.
+Lord Obsidious Gaara could be considered a better sandbender than Toph is an earthbender because Toph (at least, not Toph from the OG Avatar- I never watched Korra) has never controlled as much as Gaara controls rather commonly later in the show. With this in mind, there are only two times a bender can control another bender's materials- if the attacking bender relinquishes control in the form of launching an attack at the other bender, the defending bender can then redirect it. The other time is when one bender is significantly more powerful than the other, and can wrest control from the other. Gaara never 'lets go' of his sand when he attacks. He is controlling it until the opponent is dead. We can assume that he is a better sandbender because of the massive amounts of sand he has controlled. With this in mind, Toph could not bend Gaara's sand and would lose.
TheTrueWolfboy The problem with that summation is that Toph is connected on a very physical level to all earth near her, all the time. She has trained herself to be constantly connected to Earth (and later metal, sand and mud), simply for the purpose of sight. Sure, she may not have Gaara's range, but as soon as that sand gets close to her it is *hers*. She knows the nuances of earthen materials on both a structural and *atomic* level (hence why she was able to detect the trace earthen impurities within solid steel). Gaara may well have the sheer power as regards sand alone, but remember that he has no direct control over the piggybacking gold dust, other than that it's connected to his sand; Toph, however, has an insane amount of influence over both the sand and dust, and can transmute the sand to her more native earth and stone at will, which Gaara can't take back until he uses more of his precious chakra to churn it up.
+Lord Obsidious If Gaara is the more powerful sandbender, which nobody is denying, then Toph's earthbending skill wouldn't matter because she wouldn't be able to take it from him in the first place. Gaara is also connected to his sand on an extremely deep level because he has poured so much chakra into his gourd sand that it has become an extension of his body. Toph cannot transform the sand because he has control over it- as evidenced by pretty much every bending fight in all of Avatar, to bend an element it has to be under your control. When benders redirect their opponent's attacks, it is because the opponent released control over the material in a launching attack. The exception is if one bender is more powerful, in which case they can simply seize control. (Example (for both of these points, actually): Katara versus Hama, the Bloodbender.) Also, Gaara has Magnet Release techniques (whatever the hell those are, I don't watch Naruto) and the gold dust isn't "piggybacking", Death Battle was blatantly incorrect about him not controlling the gold dust. Now, obviously it isn't as connected to him as his normal sand, but he still has control over it.
It was explained in Gara's section that his sand is incredibly fast and can be changed greatly in it's size, shape and form. He has shown many times that he is well experienced and intelligent enough to learn counter measures and strategies. It also needs to be taken into account that Toph is very playful and young while Gara is more wise and patient. Gara has multiple huge and powerful techniques such as sand Tsunami and raining sand shuriken, to me and many other people it seems that it would be VERY hard to avoid things like that especially because Toph is blind and can only sense ground movement not air. And how can she sense the sand coming right at her at great speeds like faster than the speed of sound as it was mentioned before and still block it. She can only sense the ground and if she is using hearing to tell that the sand is coming right at her in THE AIR then that's very unlikely and doesn't make any sense. Gara can also use his sand to make himself fly and raise huge amounts of sand above him, Toph would be completely at a disadvantage when Gara does this and has no counter measures for it. Also the combat movement in Naruto is DRASTICALLY different compared to Avatar the Last Airbender, Toph can move around with the earth yes but what I mean is the speed and pace of the fight, Gara doesn't move fast but his attacks and defenses do, Toph is slower and isn't used to this speed while Gara is fighting people like Rock Lee, Sasuke and other really fast ninja. Gara's overall toolkit is much more versatile in attacks and defense and can Effectively hit Toph's blind spots (literally). Gara's absolute defense is much more stronger than any defense Toph has and if she even tries to come close to it Gara can create A LITERAL SAND EYE OUTSIDE TO SEE WHAT SHE IS DOING, like CMON DO YOU THINK GARA IS GOING TO LET HER COME CLOSE AND BEND THE SAND WHILE HE IS INSIDE like no he isn't. Toph probably won't have any access to metal so that's useless, she'll rely on the earth and that she has to use her limbs to bend BUT GARA DOESN'T, Gara can keep his distance and has much more deadlier techniques, that's a very key weakness that Gara can exploit very well, he can create diversions and capture a body part of hers with sand coffin, she can create turn that into rock instantly but what if he captures not her hand with sand coffin but her arm, this technique is very fast and she wont be able to bend it fast enough to save herself and her hand will not be touching the sand to be able to bend it anyway. This strategy would secure Gara an easy win because Toph would not be able to do anything about his fast movement and ranged attacks. Although it's not as strong as his sand barriers and absolute defense, Gara's sand amour is no push over as it can withstand many hits. Although it's not his strong point, Gara also got better in Taijutsu, his up close attacks and capabilities are better and can be used as an advantage if need be, Toph is not a good fighter in martial arts so Gara can use that, this is unlikely though because it's not necessary to win. Toph is also 12 YEAARS OLD she does not have the mental capacity, energy and experience to BEAT Gara, this dude has been fighting for his life and was much stronger at a younger age. AND IF ALL ELSE FAILS (VERY VERY VERY UNLIKELY) Gara can literally sink the sand and earth, as shown in the Avatar show, Toph struggled to fight her best in sand and prevent the earth to sink. Toph will have no chance in hitting Gara anyway and she'll never be able to get in close. There is absolutely no way Toph can win because of Gara's really fast automatic defenses and his powerful and fast attacks. I wasted a very long time constructing and writing a well thought out message explaining to thorough detail that Gara is the clear victor here. Do not take everything that Death battle states as a fact because in many of their videos the explanation of the battles and advantages and disadvantages don't make sense as shown in the ACTUAL BATTLE GARA IS JUST STANDING THERE THROWING SAND BALLS OVER AND OVER AND THEN JUST DIES. The way Gara battled in the video was very underwhelming and boring and shows how wrong they are. I have no problem with Death battle making the battle even at first but there is in now way you illustrate the battle that MUCH INTO TOPHS favor, Death battle puts so much effort into all their videos and I love them as well but this fight was just not good and was not up to the standard as others. This comment was basically meant summarize everything Gara has over Toph and to show how much stronger he is compared to her. I have watched both shows and like them very much, I have a lot of biased towards Gara I admit but I think I displayed very good reasoning to how Gara can defeat Toph. I don't know much about Gaara so I'm not saying anything about him, and I'm not trying to start any debate or argument, I'm just giving my 2 cents.... Ok, just gonna say that Toph, in her prime, is able to bend sand, metal, and most other earth based substances. Based on the analysis, yes I do think that Gaara had more capabilities than Toph, but you have to give it to Toph. She's learned how to be extremely versatile even with just regular Earthbending, which in my opinion, is not a largely versatile type of bending on its own.

I would say the amount of sand Gaara could manipulate should've been able to overwhelm Toph. Gaara can essentially create and manipulate an entire desert(Vs Kimimaro) while only Avatars can bend such massive amounts of individual elements.
not true benders with enough can control anything for example there has been air benders to control tornados and air everywhere. we've seen a crazy king control a whole city. and toph when older can control earth much more further than her. your bending is as powerful when you used it long enough
I love Toph. But she wouldn't win this. Gaara, being a shinobi (Kazekage to boot), can move vastly faster than Toph can. Meaning all he has to do is move fast enough for her to not properly respond to and that's game. Also, he has access to the sand clone technique (*meant to say the body replacement technique). Meaning no matter what Toph does, he can just replace his body with sand and dodge the attack. And lastly, all he has to do is keep Toph from moving. She can't bend unless she has room to move. So, he moves fast enough to catch her in his sand coffin technique to trap her and crush her. It'd take a fraction of a second to do. **Should probably add, before people google the body replacement technique and complain that the naruto wiki says it causes an optical illusion. The very notion that someone can not only move away from danger instantly but replace their body with another object already means they're faster than anyone in the entire Avatar universe.

Incorrect on a few points. Benders do not need to be able to move in order to bend. King Boomy for instance was encased in a metal coffin with only his face exposed. He didn't even need appendages to bend at all, even claiming he could have escaped imprisonment at any time, but didn't in order to keep his people safe. Depending on a Bender's ability, it takes very little, if any, movement to bend, though more movement tends to allow stronger bending. All she really has to be doing is touching the sand, and she can bend it. Sand Clones really don't mean anything. You cannot fake her out. They explain she is able to sense people just as easily as she can sand. Unless Garra can surprised his breathing and his heartbeat so much that he makes literally no biological signal for her to detect, she can find him. Clones don't do ANYTHING when you don't need your eyes to tell the difference. She'd just have to redirect her attack accordingly, knowing which was real and fake, and where he was going. And since he carries sand on him all the time (In the gourd), he can't go anywhere without her knowing, on top of sensing his heart/breathing/etc. As for actually trapping her, it'd take more than a fraction of a second. And the amount of steps it would take, she would have time to react in some way. Sending the sand, getting it around her, causing it to harden, then causing it to contract enough to kill her. She'd be able to react at some point from the start of the attack until the killing point. Don't underestimate the human mind's ability to process and then react.

What about the fact that Gaara’s sand isn’t just sand itself but has his chakra infused within it letting him control it, would Toph be able bypass the sand armor with Gaara’s chakra still in it?
Of course, Sand is still sand it doesn't matter if it has life energy in it, Katara could steal water from plants and some water benders can bend plants and blood so the same logic would apply to earth benders if it has your element in it you can control it.

I am not great fan of Naruto but I know both about Gaara and Toph, and Gaara's sand armour is also from the sand with his mom's chakra and there have been other tries to manipulate that sand... It can't be manipulated. Also while toph was going to touch Gaara his mother's sand would have prevented her

One they aren't bending actual lightning but just electricity in the Avatar universe, so it moves a lot slower. Two no character "outran" anything what are you talking about And three even if they did it's not traveling at THE SPEED OF SOUND She's not moving anywhere close to that so she still loses

That was their evidence in the video. They said speed of sound. If you watched the anime you can tell his sand bullets move faster than that. And besides, uncle Iroh redirected natural lightning once. Not really out running it

And that was his mother sand that has a will of its own It is very doubtful Gaara can do that, it was his mother moving faster then sound not him. And to redirect natural lightning he'd have to move lose to its speed or he wouldn't be able to react in time. And his speed was normal, probably because of old age. There are people faster then him. Mach 30 is plenty fast epecially when she sees the sand as soon as it starts moving. Mach 1 vs 30 pretty sure 30 wins. And she only needs to move fast enough to counter and she doesn't have to move the same speed to counter.

Technically speaking, Toph could've just telekinetically crushed Gaara inside his own sand armor from a distance. But that wouldn't have been as entertaining to watch.
Towards the end of the series in book 3 she trained herself in sand bending so much she was able to make the entire city of bah sing se in a sand sculpture… including a mini earth king and bear.. which means she can see what she’s making in…. Sand.
So that has nothing to do with striking power even so toph is blind she uses vibrations to feel around. They even mentioned it in the death battle, and Garra sand moves faster than sound. Sound is faster than vibs so she shouldn’t be able to react to garra attakes
basically that's kinda how it is in the show, if you think about how she sees she could probably feel the tensing of muscles and seeing as gaara manipulates sand in a very similar way to bending (arm movements) it could be assumed that she can predict what he is about to do, oh and also she can see the earth itself
I love Toph but she's no match for Gaara. Even if his Sand techniques were completely useless against her (which they wouldn't be because of their sheer speed) Gaara could just run up to her at half the speed of sound and punch her with the force of a truck.

Daniel Nineve Tanookis, or japanese raccoon dogs, aren't raccoons, they're a subspecies of raccoon dogs. They are completely different outside of visual resemblance, they're part of the canine/canidae family(hence why they have "dog" in their name), not procyonidae like raccoons. BTW, there's also a misconception that they are badgers, but badgers are in the mustelidae family and bear little resemblance.

they never gave Toph anything that she had from Korra, because she had already mastered metal bending in Avatar before the end of the show. The only thing she really gained in Korra is to see around the world through the spirit vines.
Yeah, it is a combined Toph (she doesn't get her metal whip-like tool until after ATLA), and they definitely didn't represent a complete End of Series Gaara. Even some of their researchers are baffled by this outcome, they do the research to ensure it's thorough and not bias, but Ben ultimately decides the outcome because he's the director. All things considered, there's undoubtedly something amiss with this Death Battle.
It IS one-sided. But it has nothing to do with ScrewAttack liking Toph more than Gaara. It's about Toph being a girl and Gaara being a boy. It's not proper for a guy to win a fight to the death against a girl. Guys are never allowed to win gender wars of any stripe, whether it's a sitcom, a romantic comedy, or a fight to the death. It just never happens. ScrewAttack HAD to make sure Toph would win because if they didn't, they'd have to face the wrath of the feminists and their mangina attack dogs. Avatar was my childhood, and Naruto is the show that I try to forget. Even so, after reading the debates in the comments and rewatching the analyzation portion of the video, I conclude that Gaara would win. Toph can soften or harden earth, but Gaara can do it much faster with his sand and his attacks are infinitely quicker. Plus, Gaara's chakra-infused sand is HIS. Toph has wrestled control over other bender's earth before, yes, but every grain is infused with his energy. Gaara's testicle sand isn't just being manipulated by him, it is a part of him. Also, DB totally skipped over some of Gaara's attacks? Apparently?

Starting from the position that you've made an assumption about Gaara's speed and basing your arguement entirely on that assumption is called begging the question, and from a logical standpoint is a poor position to start your claim. Ask yourself these questions: What makes Gaara able to 'out speed toph' because remember, Toph can sense any shift in earth and sand, and shows that she can not only sense earth attacks, but accurately predict the movements of her enemies regardless of if they use a earth based element or not. Also ask yourself, what in Gaara's sand SHOWS that Toph cannot manipulate it? Saying it's Chakra infused means nothing, for one, not ALL his sand is Chakra infused, just that in his gourd. Second, what shows that Gaara's sand is specifically resistant to another person controlling it? As far as we have seen, there is no feat Gaara shows that suggests a special quality of his sand that makes it immune to manipulation by another sand user(mostly because he is the only sand user), nor special training that prevents such control(once again because he is the only sand user). On the other side, Toph faces off with other earthbenders all the time, has shown capable of bending 'mixed' elements of earth without issue, and 'spiritual' structures such as the Spirit Library, so thus far, nothing suggests that she is incapable of bending Gaara's sand on her end of things. Saying 'every gain is infused' means little if there is not actual evidence that shows this would make controlling his sand any more difficult, just as just saying Gaara is fast means little if you've given no reason why Toph can't sense, predict, and preemptively strike as she has in the past. Remember also that Toph can change sand into sand stone, so any special qualities your would attribute to Gaara's sand can be used against him since she can change it's state into one outside of Gaara's influence.

You are assuming something not supported, that Gaara using chakra makes his sand immune to bending, or that there is some form of compatability issue with bending and jitsu that favors Gaara, again, show what actually supports this. Toph faces off with a large variety of earthbenders who also control earth, she has bent both earthbending attacks, sand, regular earth, and 'spiritual' earth in the form of the spirit library, as well as mixed elements that are only part earth and part something else, like mud. Gaara has never faced another sand jitsu user, as no one else has his ability, and Gold dust is a magnet release ability, not sand control, so even his father could not control sand directly. We are shown Gaara's sand has been influenced by other jitsus that can disrupt it, and been shown limitations that can effect his control, and given that he can ONLY control sand, and he can only create sand by grinding earth with preexisting sand, he is at the further disadvantage that Toph can change the composition of sand into sand stone, and thus out of his sphere of influence. "What is the dense form of sand? Sandstone" Gaara does not control sandstone, only sand as individual particles, it is even shown that the size of those particles affect his control, and the bigger and heavier the particles, the less control he has, sandstone as a solid mass is outside of his control, don't mistake sand constructs for actual sandstone. Toph can bend solid metal apart and reform it seamlessly, she can pull solid rock apart and reform it seamlessly, if you talking density, Toph has the advantage. Gaara can make his sand hard via the elemental composition, but Toph can take that and make it into solid stone that has that same composition, and which Gaara can't control. "Your arguments can easily be turned around" How so? All you've said is 'gaara is too fast, you've yet to provide evidense, just as you other claims have no supporting references and rely on assuming something is the way you say rather then proving it. I make references to Toph and Gaara's shown abilities, you've merely said, 'Gaara can do this because." or "Toph can't bend this." but you lack the evidense that would support such claims, instead relying on begging the question (assuming something is right and relying on that assumption to make further claims). Fist you need to show an actual reason why Toph can't react that takes into account her abilities, you need to show a reason why Chakra would make Toph unable to bend Gaara's sand, you would need to show Gaara controlling confirmed solid sandstone, etc... Otherwise your merely saying things without support, and while you are completely entitled to your opinions, that does little if you are trying to legitimately convince someone to agree with you.

With Gaara there is, as his different techniques have different speeds, his automatic defense is faster then even he can follow, as it could keep up with Lee while his own eyes could not, his attacks have been considerably slower as Naruto can dodge them before getting any speed techniques. As such, again, actual reasoning is required to show why Toph cannon sense/predict/react to Gaara's attack, and merely assuming that Naruto universe is by default to fast is merely indulging in a fallacy which entertains fans, but does not prove the case. How... exactly did Toph survive the sandcoffin...? I normally love death battle but this... really? Toph is strong, but she doesn't have the blinding superhuman strength and speed that's present in the naruto universe. Are you actually suggesting that that Toph can outspeed the likes of Rock Lee and Sasuke? Im assuming she just bend the sand/stone she made around her before hand into a shield, it wouldn't exactly have been hard or taken long to do for her.
How is she anywhere near as strong or as fast as rock lee? Additionally she still feels impact and has no control over chakra so if garra berated her with sand bullets wouldn’t it just tear through stone and take her out especially since he can multitask and use other attacks to just fling her in the air or crush her feet (mind you if she jumps he can still counter that with just extending another piece of sand beneath her further knocking her into the air)
Now, I love avatar. I've watched every episode and am on 264 of shippuden after watching naruto. One thing I'd like to stress is that toph couldn't have got to him at the end. I't's been shown that the only way to beat Gaara's defense is with enourmous momentary power (Gaara vs Diedera) or enourmous speed. Now, I'm not saying toph isn't strong because she is but gaara's sand didn't even try to protect him. Also there is no way that his sand was that slow. Before he was even a chunin, let alone kazekage, rock lee was only just fast enough to hit him after taking of his leg weights (which have been shown to be ridiculously heavy) and only making significant damage after opening a few gates. Also, gaara was quick enough to switch himself to a clone when lee blinked! Litteraly in the blink of an eye he evaded the primary lotus! IN ABOUT EPISODE 60! Even if he wants to hurt himself his sand will rush up to protect him. The guy actually asked what pain felt like and didn't feel it until he was about 12 even after a couple of A-rank missions. There is no way that toph could reach him so quilckly. I know h wasn't close to the ground but sand would rush from his gord or anything close to him to protect him and you clearly debuffed him. If he used sand tsunami or controlled toph she'd die and don't even get me started on that sand coffin stuff. Toph basically sand coffins gaara at the end so if that's worked on gaara why has toph got some sort of immunity to it???

......mmmmmm......no. Chakra is very diverse. But a rock is still a rock. Water even if infused with chakra is still water. Air is strong enough to level a forest but its still air. Fire and lighting as well. Toph took Gaara's weapon against himself. Even if sand is a pain for Toph to deal with she can change its composition on the fly. Seals are still needed to make greater jutsu to focus and stabilize them. Gaara's mothers chakra can move fast but it has to stop moving at one point. All this extra movement Gaara has to do to attack. Toph just shifts her foot.

It’s not even that Toph won, it’s that Gaara had to be dumbed down to lose. He watches Toph bend earth, she tells him she can sense his sand, and he decides to… keep throwing it at her. He _still_ uses sand armor after this? He decides the best course of action is to lock himself in a sand dome against someone who could’ve just created a pit under him? Brain power at 0.
He watched her survive sand coffin and thought it’d work out if he just threw more sand at her? Yeah, okay.
Pretty sure what actually happens in the animated fight isn't as important as the results. That's just some flavor done for our entertainment. Also what else can he do? His whole kit relies on sand. That's his thing. Is he suddenly gonna whip out fireballs, and lightning out of nowhere?

In the show Toph has never been shown to be able to bend two versions of the same element at once. I don't remember her ever metalbending _and_ earthbending at the same time. Yet here she's the earth Avatar.
Gaara wouldn't fight stupidly. He learned Kimmimaro was too tough to crush normally and fought smarter. He didn't just use sand waterfall because a lot of sand = drown. There are two ways Toph can win. She takes hostages like Deidara or she surprises him legitimately, not by him exhausting his chakra for no reason, taking a break in his bubble, and still being tired. Not even mentioning that Toph has to be faster than him. That's the only way a fight like this wouldn't be them just playing tug of war for five minutes.
Plus if they can use DVD extras and comics for Toph, the results could've only been fair if they used the databooks for Gaara. _He has wind and lighting release._ Him never using them doesn't change what the databooks say, and IV came out in 2014. He had more battle experience at 12 than Toph had in her whole life.

She has plenty experience. She's won tournaments, fought a war against enhanced fire benders, and even defeated bending masters with more experience than her multiple times.
She's done many impressive feats like slowing down the sinking of a massive library, and a giant drill. Where she lack in experience she make up for with raw power.
Even if Gaara didn't supply her with sand, she could just get resources from the surrounding area, and if Gaara went of the defensive, and they had "equal control of the sand" I'm pretty sure Toph can break through it. Once she was able to break an iron ship in half with a single strike.
And the Toph they used in the fight may be the young, but that's because it's more recognisable. They're really using a composite version, so it includes the experience of her older versions as well.

In no universe is Toph able to overpower Gaara. He helped to stop the descent of a massive meteor, has blocked attacks from the Raikage, who can and does cave in ribcages with a single hit and uses lightning armor, and survived the impact of a second giant meteor unharmed that landed on top of him. Gaara has power, an incredibly hard defense, _and_ speed. And I’m only taking his feats before the date of this video.
Toph using the surrounding area would only give him more ammo. His control of sand isn’t limited to what’s in front of or behind him. Gaara has been praised for his intelligence multiple times throughout the series. To think that he would just stand there and let Toph do things is not Gaara. It’s Kiba.

Seismic sense is an earth bending technique, and metal bending is different. And the very concept of metal bending is manipulating multiple sources of minerals, as certain metals are a composition of different minerals.
And again Toph has been able to go against bending masters more experienced than her, adult more than twice her age with years of experience, fire bending soldiers that were enhanced by the comet. She was able to match King Bumi, a very talented and strong earth bender with over a hundred years of experience, and I never said Toph has more experience than Gaara. I implied that she herself has certain amount of experience.
Like I said Toph is a really heavy hitter and also very strong, she was able to slow down a giant sinking library, and broke a battle ship in half with a single strike. She did this while on her own ship, raising a pillar of rock from deep under water in a mater of seconds. Gaara's armor has definitely broken with weaker attacks, add on to that Toph could also manipulate his armor herself further weakening it.
And technically both of these two attacking each other will just supply one other with more ammunition, but the difference is Toph is attacking with sand, stone and metal, while Gaara still has to breakdown the stones.
Also Gaara needs chakra to use his abilities, while Toph doesn't have such limitations.

I think the biggest failure of judgement here has to be this: Earth bending requires actual physical movement for them to actually bend earth (apart from remote earth bending, where Toph has never actually needed to do this and we have only seen Bumi (who required a great deal of concentration to pull it off) and Aang (in avatar state) do it). Gaara manipulates sand with his mind, and his ultimate defence doesn't even need thought it's basically a reactive armour. Gaara could quite literally encase Toph in sand, immobilizing her, and crushing her way before she could be even afforded the opportunity to even amass a pebble to launch at him.

Honestly, i've never downvoted a Screwattack Death Battle before, not even the Pokemon Battle Royale and Ryu vs Scorpion (Which were terribly done, by the way), but this one is getting downvoted. There's so many assumptions made in Toph's favour it's not even funny.
1. That she can practically use Sandbending in combat- She can't. She has NEVER shown any practical use of it in the entire series.
2. That her metal armor can allow her to withstand a Sand Burial. It can't. There have to be holes in the armor, or she'd suffocate when she tried to wear it.. The sand goes through there, splats Toph completely, game over.
3. That Toph's final attack in this animation would kill Gaara. He took two meteorites to the face in quick succession and lived. HOW would that last attack kill Gaara when MADARA UCHIHA (Who is leagues more powerful than even Aang) couldn't?
4. Gaara running out of Chakra is highly, highly unlikely. He lasted through the Entire 4th Shinobi World War without running low on Chakra. And this was WITHOUT Shukaku.
5. That Gaara actually uses Gold Dust in his attacks- he doesn't. There has never been any mention of him adding Gold Dust to his sand. He has only been shown to manipulate it, not actively use it.
6. That Gaara's experience in controlling sand would easily be overcome by Toph's, even though Toph only trained for one year, whereas Gaara's had 18 years worth.
7. That Toph is fast enough to actually avoid or redirect Gaara's attacks before they kill her- Nope, nope, nope. ROCK LEE couldn't do it without opening The Eight Inner Gates.
Sorry, Screwattack, but this Death Battle is by far your worst work yet. This makes Pokemon Battle Royale look WELL-MADE. That's how bad it is.

I’ve been an Avatar fan for a long time, and been biased to choose Toph when I saw the video. But I’ve seen Naruto all the way through for the first time just recently, and oh man what was I thinking! There’s NO WAY Gaara should have lost.
Not that this was a factor back when they made the video, but he's gotten even stronger in Boruto. It's made very clear he's on or at least close to Naruto and Sasuke's level as an adult, and they're basically gods by that point. Toph is a cool character too but Gaara is so far past any Avatar character it's downright depressing what they did to him here.

The thing i'm confused about is that gaaras sand had its own will to move, how can it be bended by toph, even if, it wouldn't be an easy job for her.

Ok, let me tell you why that's bullshit (THIS IS LONG)
1. Gaara's sand is infused with both his own chakra and he also has the sand infused by his mother. Toph isn't bending regular sand so to assume she can just use and redirect it like normal and doesn't make sense. It's basically controlling someone else, so it would fall under the category of bloodbending which is extremely hard to master and takes years of practice.
2. Gaara's chakra reserves are massive due to the fact that he was born already being a jinchuriki He has enough chakra to fight in the majority of the 4th Great Ninja war without a break. he wouldn't run out for a while and absolute defense isn't dependent on his chakra and doesn't run out when he runs out meaning that it would still protect him.
3. Also Gaara doesn't keep his sand armor on 24/7 anymore since shippuden, it only if he needs to use it to conserve his chakra
4. As for Toph surviving the giant sand burial, the metal would have not fully protected her. When Gaara did the same to Kimimaro, he survived because his bones were stronger than tempered steel along with the fact that he had the curse mark to add to his durability, the metal Toph was using would most likely dent, crushing her.
5. Toph can see all of Gaara's attacks yes, but if she cannot react to them then there is no point.
Gaara sand was fast enough to keep up with Rock Lee back in Naruto and it has only gotten faster since then, Toph has never shown speed even close to Lee in Naruto, so she definitely would not be able to keep up with Gaara from shippuden since he was able to stop the raikage mid attack when he was about to attack sasuke.
6. Gaara can make sand clones to throw Toph off since she would have no way of knowing who was the real Gaara.
7. Toph isn't known for taking hits too well, she's more of a glass cannon, though she is very powerful, her body int as sturdy as the rock she bends. A few good hits would end her.
8. Giving Toph Gold dust doesn't add to her power in anyway
9. Even if Toph could bend all of his sand and keep up with the speed, which we proved she can't without practicing bending sand infused with chakra, spirit, ect. she in no way has the speed required to react, dodge or direct the attack. Also keep in mind that Gaara is a decent tactician, he was the one who found out he could pull Madara from his Susano'o, he would be able to last long enough to find out what Toph was doing

Since Gaara is covered in sand in this death battle she would only see sand covered "Gaaras" she has no way of telling them apart if he has his and armor on.
And by your logic, since sand is just sand, even though it is infused with chakra, a living substance, and the sand infused with a soul, that means blood bending (which is what its called) is just bending liquid in the body and can be done instantly with no adjustment or practice at all, but it cant.
It's like saying, if you can bend rock you can instantly adjust to bending lava
Bending this sand would fall under the category of specialized bending techniques because it isnt ordinary sand.
Bending something new takes time to adjust to it, which is why you don't see every earth bender bending lava, or every water bender blood bending. Gaara's sand would offer some resistance considering it's basically has its own will, making Toph unable to bend it or atleast throwing Toph's bending off.

As we've seen in the episode where Appa went missing, she has no problem with condensed sand and even if there is an argument to be made about that, she clearly has learned all forms of earthbending, including mudbending which is half-water Sand is no issue if she can bend something that is not even in her element.

He can simply float in the air and muffle the sounds he makes (like breathing and his heartbeat) with his sand layers and Toph would have no clue where he was until he hit her with his attacks, which, by the way, don't necessarily have to be with earth-based materials. And his sand cannot be manipulated. He literally spends all of his waking hours infusing the sand in his gourd with his chakra, practically making it a part of his body.

Toph spends her whole life, awake, asleep, whatever, using her bending on a microscopic scale to sense her surroundings. She is one with any earth she comes into contact with. She is as skilled with her element as it is possible for her to be, and she has a great deal of natural power to compliment it. You could debate that Gaara is better with sand specifically, but even so Toph has far more versatility and can manipulate the gold within the sand as well.
+Lord Obsidious Gaara could be considered a better sandbender than Toph is an earthbender because Toph (at least, not Toph from the OG Avatar- I never watched Korra) has never controlled as much as Gaara controls rather commonly later in the show. With this in mind, there are only two times a bender can control another bender's materials- if the attacking bender relinquishes control in the form of launching an attack at the other bender, the defending bender can then redirect it. The other time is when one bender is significantly more powerful than the other, and can wrest control from the other.
Gaara never 'lets go' of his sand when he attacks. He is controlling it until the opponent is dead. We can assume that he is a better sandbender because of the massive amounts of sand he has controlled. With this in mind, Toph could not bend Gaara's sand and would lose.
TheTrueWolfboy The problem with that summation is that Toph is connected on a very physical level to all earth near her, all the time. She has trained herself to be constantly connected to Earth (and later metal, sand and mud), simply for the purpose of sight. Sure, she may not have Gaara's range, but as soon as that sand gets close to her it is *hers*. She knows the nuances of earthen materials on both a structural and *atomic* level (hence why she was able to detect the trace earthen impurities within solid steel). Gaara may well have the sheer power as regards sand alone, but remember that he has no direct control over the piggybacking gold dust, other than that it's connected to his sand; Toph, however, has an insane amount of influence over both the sand and dust, and can transmute the sand to her more native earth and stone at will, which Gaara can't take back until he uses more of his precious chakra to churn it up.

If Gaara is the more powerful sandbender, which nobody is denying, then Toph's earthbending skill wouldn't matter because she wouldn't be able to take it from him in the first place. Gaara is also connected to his sand on an extremely deep level because he has poured so much chakra into his gourd sand that it has become an extension of his body. Toph cannot transform the sand because he has control over it- as evidenced by pretty much every bending fight in all of Avatar, to bend an element it has to be under your control. When benders redirect their opponent's attacks, it is because the opponent released control over the material in a launching attack. The exception is if one bender is more powerful, in which case they can simply seize control. (Example (for both of these points, actually): Katara versus Hama, the Bloodbender.)
Also, Gaara has Magnet Release techniques (whatever the hell those are, I don't watch Naruto) and the gold dust isn't "piggybacking", Death Battle was blatantly incorrect about him not controlling the gold dust. Now, obviously it isn't as connected to him as his normal sand, but he still has control over it.
So, considering i can see an "Avatar: The Last Airbender" Ad....

It was explained in Gara's section that his sand is incredibly fast and can be changed greatly in it's size, shape and form. He has shown many times that he is well experienced and intelligent enough to learn counter measures and strategies. It also needs to be taken into account that Toph is very playful and young while Gara is more wise and patient. Gara has multiple huge and powerful techniques such as sand Tsunami and raining sand shuriken, to me and many other people it seems that it would be VERY hard to avoid things like that especially because Toph is blind and can only sense ground movement not air. And how can she sense the sand coming right at her at great speeds like faster than the speed of sound as it was mentioned before and still block it. She can only sense the ground and if she is using hearing to tell that the sand is coming right at her in THE AIR then that's very unlikely and doesn't make any sense. Gara can also use his sand to make himself fly and raise huge amounts of sand above him, Toph would be completely at a disadvantage when Gara does this and has no counter measures for it. Also the combat movement in Naruto is DRASTICALLY different compared to Avatar the Last Airbender, Toph can move around with the earth yes but what I mean is the speed and pace of the fight, Gara doesn't move fast but his attacks and defenses do, Toph is slower and isn't used to this speed while Gara is fighting people like Rock Lee, Sasuke and other really fast ninja. Gara's overall toolkit is much more versatile in attacks and defense and can Effectively hit Toph's blind spots (literally). Gara's absolute defense is much more stronger than any defense Toph has and if she even tries to come close to it Gara can create A LITERAL SAND EYE OUTSIDE TO SEE WHAT SHE IS DOING, like CMON DO YOU THINK GARA IS GOING TO LET HER COME CLOSE AND BEND THE SAND WHILE HE IS INSIDE like no he isn't. Toph probably won't have any access to metal so that's useless, she'll rely on the earth and that she has to use her limbs to bend BUT GARA DOESN'T, Gara can keep his distance and has much more deadlier techniques, that's a very key weakness that Gara can exploit very well, he can create diversions and capture a body part of hers with sand coffin, she can create turn that into rock instantly but what if he captures not her hand with sand coffin but her arm, this technique is very fast and she wont be able to bend it fast enough to save herself and her hand will not be touching the sand to be able to bend it anyway. This strategy would secure Gara an easy win because Toph would not be able to do anything about his fast movement and ranged attacks. Although it's not as strong as his sand barriers and absolute defense, Gara's sand amour is no push over as it can withstand many hits. Although it's not his strong point, Gara also got better in Taijutsu, his up close attacks and capabilities are better and can be used as an advantage if need be, Toph is not a good fighter in martial arts so Gara can use that, this is unlikely though because it's not necessary to win. Toph is also 12 YEAARS OLD she does not have the mental capacity, energy and experience to BEAT Gara, this dude has been fighting for his life and was much stronger at a younger age. AND IF ALL ELSE FAILS (VERY VERY VERY UNLIKELY) Gara can literally sink the sand and earth, as shown in the Avatar show, Toph struggled to fight her best in sand and prevent the earth to sink. Toph will have no chance in hitting Gara anyway and she'll never be able to get in close. There is absolutely no way Toph can win because of Gara's really fast automatic defenses and his powerful and fast attacks. I wasted a very long time constructing and writing a well thought out message explaining to thorough detail that Gara is the clear victor here. Do not take everything that Death battle states as a fact because in many of their videos the explanation of the battles and advantages and disadvantages don't make sense as shown in the ACTUAL BATTLE GARA IS JUST STANDING THERE THROWING SAND BALLS OVER AND OVER AND THEN JUST DIES. The way Gara battled in the video was very underwhelming and boring and shows how wrong they are. I have no problem with Death battle making the battle even at first but there is in now way you illustrate the battle that MUCH INTO TOPHS favor, Death battle puts so much effort into all their videos and I love them as well but this fight was just not good and was not up to the standard as others. This comment was basically meant summarize everything Gara has over Toph and to show how much stronger he is compared to her. I don't know much about Gaara so I'm not saying anything about him, and I'm not trying to start any debate or argument, I'm just giving my 2 cents.... Ok, just gonna say that Toph, in her prime, is able to bend sand, metal, and most other earth based substances. Based on the analysis, yes I do think that Gaara had more capabilities than Toph, but you have to give it to Toph. She's learned how to be extremely versatile even with just regular Earthbending, which in my opinion, is not a largely versatile type of bending on its own.

I would say the amount of sand Gaara could manipulate should've been able to overwhelm Toph. Gaara can essentially create and manipulate an entire desert(Vs Kimimaro) while only Avatars can bend such massive amounts of individual elements.

I love Toph. But she wouldn't win this. Gaara, being a shinobi (Kazekage to boot), can move vastly faster than Toph can. Meaning all he has to do is move fast enough for her to not properly respond to and that's game. Also, he has access to the sand clone technique (*meant to say the body replacement technique). Meaning no matter what Toph does, he can just replace his body with sand and dodge the attack.
And lastly, all he has to do is keep Toph from moving. She can't bend unless she has room to move. So, he moves fast enough to catch her in his sand coffin technique to trap her and crush her. It'd take a fraction of a second to do.
**Should probably add, before people google the body replacement technique and complain that the naruto wiki says it causes an optical illusion. The very notion that someone can not only move away from danger instantly but replace their body with another object already means they're faster than anyone in the entire Avatar universe.

Incorrect on a few points. Benders do not need to be able to move in order to bend. King Boomy for instance was encased in a metal coffin with only his face exposed. He didn't even need appendages to bend at all, even claiming he could have escaped imprisonment at any time, but didn't in order to keep his people safe. Depending on a Bender's ability, it takes very little, if any, movement to bend, though more movement tends to allow stronger bending. All she really has to be doing is touching the sand, and she can bend it.
Sand Clones really don't mean anything. You cannot fake her out. They explain she is able to sense people just as easily as she can sand. Unless Garra can surprised his breathing and his heartbeat so much that he makes literally no biological signal for her to detect, she can find him. Clones don't do ANYTHING when you don't need your eyes to tell the difference. She'd just have to redirect her attack accordingly, knowing which was real and fake, and where he was going. And since he carries sand on him all the time (In the gourd), he can't go anywhere without her knowing, on top of sensing his heart/breathing/etc.
As for actually trapping her, it'd take more than a fraction of a second. And the amount of steps it would take, she would have time to react in some way. Sending the sand, getting it around her, causing it to harden, then causing it to contract enough to kill her. She'd be able to react at some point from the start of the attack until the killing point. Don't underestimate the human mind's ability to process and then react.

Of course, Sand is still sand it doesn't matter if it has life energy in it, Katara could steal water from plants and some water benders can bend plants and blood so the same logic would apply to earth benders if it has your element in it you can control it.

I am not great fan of Naruto but I know both about Gaara and Toph, and Gaara's sand armour is also from the sand with his mom's chakra and there have been other tries to manipulate that sand... It can't be manipulated. Also while toph was going to touch Gaara his mother's sand would have prevented her

Yeah, it is a combined Toph (she doesn't get her metal whip-like tool until after ATLA), and they definitely didn't represent a complete End of Series Gaara. It IS one-sided. But it has nothing to do with ScrewAttack liking Toph more than Gaara. It's about Toph being a girl and Gaara being a boy. It's not proper for a guy to win a fight to the death against a girl. Guys are never allowed to win gender wars of any stripe, whether it's a sitcom, a romantic comedy, or a fight to the death. It just never happens. ScrewAttack HAD to make sure Toph would win because if they didn't, they'd have to face the wrath of the feminists and their mangina attack dogs. Soooo....ScrewAttack had no other option but to power Gaara down to make it more of a "fair" fight, you see.

Avatar was my childhood, and Naruto is the show that I try to forget. Even so, after reading the debates in the comments and rewatching the analyzation portion of the video, I conclude that Gaara would win. Toph can soften or harden earth, but Gaara can do it much faster with his sand and his attacks are infinitely quicker. Plus, Gaara's chakra-infused sand is HIS. Toph has wrestled control over other bender's earth before, yes, but every grain is infused with his energy. Gaara's testicle sand isn't just being manipulated by him, it is a part of him.

Starting from the position that you've made an assumption about Gaara's speed and basing your arguement entirely on that assumption is called begging the question, and from a logical standpoint is a poor position to start your claim. Ask yourself these questions: What makes Gaara able to 'out speed toph' because remember, Toph can sense any shift in earth and sand, and shows that she can not only sense earth attacks, but accurately predict the movements of her enemies regardless of if they use a earth based element or not.
Also ask yourself, what in Gaara's sand SHOWS that Toph cannot manipulate it? Saying it's Chakra infused means nothing, for one, not ALL his sand is Chakra infused, just that in his gourd. Second, what shows that Gaara's sand is specifically resistant to another person controlling it? As far as we have seen, there is no feat Gaara shows that suggests a special quality of his sand that makes it immune to manipulation by another sand user(mostly because he is the only sand user), nor special training that prevents such control(once again because he is the only sand user).
On the other side, Toph faces off with other earthbenders all the time, has shown capable of bending 'mixed' elements of earth without issue, and 'spiritual' structures such as the Spirit Library, so thus far, nothing suggests that she is incapable of bending Gaara's sand on her end of things.
Saying 'every gain is infused' means little if there is not actual evidence that shows this would make controlling his sand any more difficult, just as just saying Gaara is fast means little if you've given no reason why Toph can't sense, predict, and preemptively strike as she has in the past. Remember also that Toph can change sand into sand stone, so any special qualities your would attribute to Gaara's sand can be used against him since she can change it's state into one outside of Gaara's influence.

Much like Dragon Ball Z, Naruto characters reach supersonic speeds in combat. The simple fact is that Toph has NEVER dealt with supersonic attacks and there is no way that she would be able to deal with said speeds.
As for Gaara's gourd sand, I suppose you have a point. However, here's my counterpoint: Gaara's gourd sand is a part of him because it is infused with his chakra. He has much more control over it than with normal sand. Toph has never faced someone with this quality, so what evidence points to her being able to wrest control from him?
Also, Gaara deals with extremely dense sand all the time. What is the dense form of sand? Sandstone. It is still his element.

Plenty of non supersonic ninja have reacted to Gaara's sand and dodged it, and while we see plenty of defense examples that show speed, we don't see attack techniques that share that quality. Likewise, you've given no reason why Toph can't, as displayed, sense, predict, and influence Gaara's attacks. Remember Tophs abilities DO have an impact on battle, and excluding them from the equation results in a faulty conclusion.

No, it's infused with his energy, there is nothing in Naruto that makes his sand a physical part of him, nor changes the sand into something other then regular sand infused with Chakra. You are assuming something not supported, that Gaara using chakra makes his sand immune to bending, or that there is some form of compatability issue with bending and jitsu that favors Gaara, again, show what actually supports this.
Toph faces off with a large variety of earthbenders who also control earth, she has bent both earthbending attacks, sand, regular earth, and 'spiritual' earth in the form of the spirit library, as well as mixed elements that are only part earth and part something else, like mud. Gaara has never faced another sand jitsu user, as no one else has his ability, and Gold dust is a magnet release ability, not sand control, so even his father could not control sand directly. We are shown Gaara's sand has been influenced by other jitsus that can disrupt it, and been shown limitations that can effect his control, and given that he can ONLY control sand, and he can only create sand by grinding earth with preexisting sand, he is at the further disadvantage that Toph can change the composition of sand into sand stone, and thus out of his sphere of influence.

Sandstone" Gaara does not control sandstone, only sand as individual particles, it is even shown that the size of those particles affect his control, and the bigger and heavier the particles, the less control he has, sandstone as a solid mass is outside of his control, don't mistake sand constructs for actual sandstone. Toph can bend solid metal apart and reform it seamlessly, she can pull solid rock apart and reform it seamlessly, if you talking density, Toph has the advantage. Gaara can make his sand hard via the elemental composition, but Toph can take that and make it into solid stone that has that same composition, and which Gaara can't control.

All you've said is 'gaara is too fast, you've yet to provide evidense, just as you other claims have no supporting references and rely on assuming something is the way you say rather then proving it. I make references to Toph and Gaara's shown abilities, you've merely said, 'Gaara can do this because." or "Toph can't bend this." but you lack the evidense that would support such claims, instead relying on begging the question (assuming something is right and relying on that assumption to make further claims). Fist you need to show an actual reason why Toph can't react that takes into account her abilities, you need to show a reason why Chakra would make Toph unable to bend Gaara's sand, you would need to show Gaara controlling confirmed solid sandstone, etc... Otherwise your merely saying things without support, and while you are completely entitled to your opinions, that does little if you are trying to legitimately convince someone to agree with you.

False dilemma, Gaara is not Sonic, and Naruto speeds are dependent on techniques used, and rarely show consistency, unlike Sonic who has actual measurements to his speeds that are consistent. We can say Sonic is faster then Mario because there is consistent evidence backing it so there is no question. With Gaara there is, as his different techniques have different speeds, his automatic defense is faster then even he can follow, as it could keep up with Lee while his own eyes could not, his attacks have been considerably slower as Naruto can dodge them before getting any speed techniques. As such, again, actual reasoning is required to show why Toph cannon sense/predict/react to Gaara's attack, and merely assuming that Naruto universe is by default to fast is merely indulging in a fallacy which entertains fans, but does not prove the case.

Are you actually suggesting that that Toph can outspeed the likes of Rock Lee and Sasuke? And while sure, she MAY be able to sense the sand flying at her, it's moving at speeds far too fast for her to dodge. Gaara uses that sand to trap ninjas...

Additionally she still feels impact and has no control over chakra so if garra berated her with sand bullets wouldn’t it just tear through stone and take her out especially since he can multitask and use other attacks to just fling her in the air or crush her feet (mind you if she jumps he can still counter that with just extending another piece of sand beneath her further knocking her into the air)

Now, I love avatar. I've watched every episode and am on 264 of shippuden after watching naruto. One thing I'd like to stress is that toph couldn't have got to him at the end. I't's been shown that the only way to beat Gaara's defense is with enourmous momentary power (Gaara vs Diedera) or enourmous speed. Now, I'm not saying toph isn't strong because she is but gaara's sand didn't even try to protect him. Also there is no way that his sand was that slow. Before he was even a chunin, let alone kazekage, rock lee was only just fast enough to hit him after taking of his leg weights (which have been shown to be ridiculously heavy) and only making significant damage after opening a few gates. Also, gaara was quick enough to switch himself to a clone when lee blinked! Litteraly in the blink of an eye he evaded the primary lotus! IN ABOUT EPISODE 60! Even if he wants to hurt himself his sand will rush up to protect him. The guy actually asked what pain felt like and didn't feel it until he was about 12 even after a couple of A-rank missions. There is no way that toph could reach him so quilckly. I know h wasn't close to the ground but sand would rush from his gord or anything close to him to protect him and you clearly debuffed him. If he used sand tsunami or controlled toph she'd die and don't even get me started on that sand coffin stuff. Toph basically sand coffins gaara at the end so if that's worked on gaara why has toph got some sort of immunity to it???

Gaara actually could have won with no sand. He's faster, and his Taijutsu is comparable to that of Sasuke and Naruto, according to the novels. He is physically stronger than her. His sand is more powerful than an attack from adult Aang's Avatar State. ALSO, HOW THE HELL WOULD SHE BE ABLE TO MANIPULATE HIS SAND BETTER THAN HE CAN? Finally, since he puts wind chakra into his sand, she would have to simultaneously airbend to not get hit.
Finally someone with actual facts. His taijutsu wasn't as good when he was younger but still man. He is Shinobi. He is faster then her, can control his sand better then she can control her earth (and faster then she can) and he also has his chakra clones and ability to FLY ON HIS SAND.
