These are hobby based but things that I think aren't as common as painting, woodwork etc. If I'm a little short I use the sims phone camera to take photos of other sims then sell them. Having a guitar in your inventory and playing it in public lots can be a way to earn tips too, the better you get the more you earn.
Yeah, you're right! Most of them are hobby based, just not painting, writing or woodworking. It was certainly a challenge finding weird ways to earn cash with only the base game 😂 Photography and taking up a musical instrument or singing is a great way to make some quick bucks 😍 I should've added those methods at the end as a bonus tips!
The frog breeding cool down time is tied to the sim, not the frogs so if you're really hard up for cash you breed the frogs with your first sim, sell the offspring, transfer the 2 frogs to your 2nd sim and breed them again for another frog to sell. I once had a pair of $130 frogs that I passed between the inventories of Dad, Mum, and Toddler to get 3x $130 every 4 hours, it's a hassle and I eventually gave each sim their own breeding pair to save transferring them but it worked when every simoleon mattered.
I'm excited to hear about the trash can. I thought they purposely made it stop giving out money. I haven't played in awhile because I've been busy, so I haven't noticed
I just checked and it seems like you can't sell plates with food on it or the empty summoned grilled cheese plate. I also checked the other plates and it sadly didn't work with them either 😔 That would've been too cool!

One more weird way I've found in the basegame is through kleptomania, which can make you more than a traditional job by level 10 Mischief (once you know the most expensive items to go after). There's also the "Shrewd" aspiration trait, which pairs well with the ones you listed for selling collectibles. I'd love to see your DLC list of moneymakers. Always on the lookout for more things I don't know/haven't tried in-game (it's an addiction by now).

I like that you mention the dating one. Unlike the parties where the prep work might cost you a touch of money (such as having food and drinks for your guests or activities for them to do), dates in the sims really don't cost you anything unless you pick to go to a restaurant. Anywhere else? Free date!

if u have island living, you can go deep diving and there u can buy something that detects treasures for like 1k or 2k simoleons and u can just dive over and over again and u always get treasures that u can sell
When your Sim has the kleptomaniac trait you are able to steal some things from other Sim‘s lots or community lots. So, what I do is downloading community lots with a ton of expensive objects, steal those and sell them. This is especially funny when you have two sims, one stealing and the other stopping other sims that want to go into the room. You just need to watch out where they are, as they can and will stop each other from stealing when they catch them in the act🙄

Get magic world. There is a mischief spell made just to steal stuff. Then, get the astral range perk. You can now steal stuff, from a room full of other Sims, while you are not even in the building.
Writing should be included as not only a hobby as it's part of an aspiration AND can also be a career. The «NanoCan Touchless Trash Can» give you $10 per Sim in the family when you drag stuff in it. Only a flat $10 when your Sims use it, and none when NPCSims use it. When you run out of wall space for the microscope and telescope prints, and your paintings, just sell them. Take photos. Take a lot of photos. Even the worst of them are worth money and cost you nothing as you can use the cell phone. Have kids ? Have them make drawings, decorations and seasonal items and sell those. Then... Gardening and dragon fruits !

I commonly use them to set my toddlers to instantly finish the incredibly rich aspiration when try age up to teen. I currently have four Sims who finished that aspiration, two kids and sextuplet toddlers with a another one coming, plus a Servo, and the family funds are over $20 000 000 thanks to a mod that increase the maximum funds limit ! Four times over $900 000 each week 😁🤩💰💰💰💰 A fifth in two Sim weeks, the sixth two weeks later.
I know you said your excluding painting and knitting But.....When I sell my sims painting on plopsy, they get almost double or more money compared to selling for fame. I also earned tons of money from buying the money tree. the more I care for the money tree & level them up, the collection value goes up. .

My Black Widow's technique: 1. On the honeymoon, lure them into the bedroom to Woohoo. 2. While the partner is asleep, quietly leave the room. 3. In Build Mode, remove the door to the bedroom. Assuming there is no alternate way of entering and exiting that room, they will soon starve to death. 4. Replace door, hide urn in Inventory, clean up pee puddles in room, sell house and furnishings, and move on to next v/i/c/t/i...husband. Lather, rinse, repeat.
I was just playing a bit of The Sims 4, I made the Simpsons as Sims a while ago and decided to play with them, they are unfortunately human versions, since we have no yellow skin, at least in normal non alien form! I had also made Family Guy years ago, back when TS4 first game out, but now like many of my creations on The Gallery, they gone, I wonder if anyone else has had that happen, where a lot of their older creations have vanished off the Gallery! It's true that I had to change computers a few times over the years, but I always share all of my creations, because I thought that the Gallery would always keep them safe, so why are so many of my creations gone for? I mean I know they weren't removed because there was something not allowed on the Gallery about them, otherwise they wouldn't have allowed them in the first place! Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone else has that trouble like me, why I was mentioning my Sims! I guess it's good I quit playing or I would have missed this video as well as my favorite UA-camr LaurenzSide's new video today, I like to watch my favorites on the day they drop, not days after! 😉

Not only photos of other Sims, ANY photo can be sold and earn you some cash. Take photos of trash cans, trash piles or trash plants and make money.

Can you compete the grilled cheese aspiration and then keep on putting the grilled cheese in the trash can to get money?

The fame system comes from Get Famous. It's pretty cool! Essentially different interactions and activities will increase your Sim's fame 😊
