His mother took him to the Mangaladevi temple and prayed to God, saying that if her son recovered and was able to walk again, she would dress him as a tiger and make him dance. Miraculously, her son recovered completely and was able to walk again. This heartfelt promise led to the tradition of the tiger dance, which is still performed across the coastal regions of Karnataka to this day. This is the beautiful story behind the tiger dance.
