  • Captain Underpants author Dav Pilkey (left) shares some very sour
candy with his 3-year-old neighbor in Japan. The candy (which
they made together from a kit) has sour taffy on the right side,
and sweet, crunchy sugar on the left side.
It's interesting to note that Dav doesn't speak Japanese, and
the little girl doesn't speak English, yet they communicate
very well anyway, through the universal language of candy.
Background music from the album "Are You in the Mood?" by Django Reinhardt.
    Featuring the songs:
Oriental Shuffle - 1936 written and performed by Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli.
After You've Gone - 1918 by Turner Layton, lyrics by Henry Creamer. Performed in 1936 by Django Reinhardt (with Stéphane Grappelli).
