AMAZING VOICE .....MEGHNA JI .....LOVE FROM SINDH, PAKISTAN .....I HOPE MUSIC IS NOT DIVIDED BY BORDERS....... mesmerize, stupendous performance. I am obliged after listening such a melodious raaga........
Your style of singing, laykari, throwing voice and sir.... everything reminding me of kishori amonkar, I must say if you keep it, your destination is really unpredictable high. Mohan Kumar Basu
I do not know much about Gharanas. But At first listening I was sweetly reminded of Kishoritai minus the razor-sharp singing of Kishoritai. You have a different voice and it has its own magic. My compliments !
I am an ardent fan of both the versions of the music - Carnatic & Hindustani. Raag Bhupali is Mohanam in Carnatic and one of my all time favorite Raag. What an evening Raag Bhupali is, which is eternal. Meghana ji, mere words will wash out the divinity in your rendition. Truly out of this world! God bless you with many more years of divine voice.
Vaa vaa Hallo Meganatai best best N best tummi amcha kishoritai cha javal jat aahat ase mala vatathe please roj char tas sarav karava parat parat 🌹🙏Dattaram Anant Barve GOA sangit jankar
Namskar megha mam my self shiwaji chaware i allso did M.A and sangeet alankar butnow also i have learning I lisned kishori tai bhup rag but your classical ragas better idial khayal l learn from yours sang rag bhup i am so happy you are great vocalit God bless you
The first time I've heard her. What a wonderfully contemplative and meditative rendering! I admire the ability not to show off vocal skills and focus on exploring, quietly and with such control the lyrical quality of the Raga. Look forward to hearing more of such young talent.
Imagination .. Ideas grow beautifully when we have good support , good accompaniment. Thanks to Shri Vyasmurti Kattiji and Keshav Joshi for the great accompaniment. Kattiji is one of the most greatest accompanist I have met ever. I really feel blessed.
Arun dravidji .. For the third question .. Yes I agree to your observation. As I sang the raag for the first time on stage, I was more experimental.after that I studied the raag for 6 years.. Now if I look back to this recording, I don't find it up to the mark at all. Thanks for sharing your views sir. Certainly, Iam open to learning.
Why are you apologetic, Meghana ji? Goddess Saraswati enlivens in your scintillating, melodic voice. And don't compare one artiste with the other. Every one is rendering his or her best. Small, minor deviations do not put you behind any one. Now, what is the greatest wonder in the world? Is it a wall or a mass of steel? No. It is the Indian Music that is the greatest ocean of wonders. With so many Janaka and Janya ragas, it is certainly an ocean. There is no sense in addressing Indian Music as Carnatic or Hindustani. It is one with different styles - like Kharanas. I am a senior citizen who spent most of his life running after Classical Music and Indian Classical dances. I could, fortunately interview for and on behalf of 'Mathrubhumi', 'Kala Kaumudi' and many other periodicals, many veteran maestros like Dr. Balamurali Krishna, Ustad Bismillah Khan, Pt Ravi Shankar, Ustad Ali Akbar Khan, U. Srinivas and Pt. Bhimsen Joshi ji (tears jerk in my eyes, I stop).
What a blessing to hear this! Beautiful feelings, beautiful voice, beautiful instrumentation. Thank you for sharing this with the world. It is heavenly.
Meghana ji, pranams from New Zealand..I am lucky to have found your video. I started learning classical at late age of 48, some 8 years back. I realized I should listen more to get better and found this. I listen and try to sing behind your notes as practice. The accompanying artists are great, too. My sincere pranams to you and your lineage. 🙏
Smt Meghana Tai, I don't understand much of Classical singing, happen to listen to your Raag Bhoopali while driving to work. It does relieve stress of driving to work and gives peace. May shree give you strength to learn and share your talent. Thx Subodh
Meghanaji criticism apart you are blessed with a wonderful voice. And you have done a great job for some one so young. Music is like acquiring surgical skills some are gifted by God and the rest learn them over a life time. Obviously those like you who are gifted by God improve over God's gift and the rest like your's truly learn their surgical skills over a life time you will do great. As a 60 y old I guess I have that small right to wish you all the very best. God Bless you.
meghana kulkarni ..i dont understand classical music much; today i heard you on Insync Music channel ..............Loved it ! ; beautiful rendering of Raag ......."ahir bhairav" ? correct me ; ...please post that performance if you can .....want to hear again _/\_
shrikant bhosale ....sorry to correct you ...the Raag sung was Bhoopaali .....Film song "Jyoti Kalash chalke"...by Lataji years ago ..... I may be wrong but it was from film ??Bhabi ki Choodiyan ....with probably Balraj Sahni and Meena Kumari?
I'm not a knowledgeable person ( on music ) - an audience only. However, THIS RENDITION REMINDS ME OF ADOLESCENCE PERIOD OF BIDUSHI SUBHRA GUHA ( presently teaching classical music at ITC SRC, KOLKATA ) AT ABOUT HER 13 - 15 YEARS OF AGE when she was being guided by Late Ustad SATISH CHANDRA BHOWMICK an ardent disciple of Late Girijasankar Chakraborty. I do not hear her directly for last 46 years. A nostalgic experience.
Wah! Meghana Kulkarni! Kya baat hai! Let tradition be the foundation of experiment! Greatness is achieved not by parroting or imitating the Greats but by using their teaching to create your own place! Don't be deterred by traditional old foggies who refuse to experiment and stick to imitation! Such people remain in shadows and darkness!
Thank you again:).sir, I still haven't sung Kedar in any concert yet. Will surely post if I sing that raag anytime.thanks for all the kind words and encouragement.it is truly inspiring.
Hi Meghana : it's good to listen your presentation.. but point is Music is expandable & has big window of opportunity, What I expect that.. any English song (Bhav geet type) e.g. Titanic.. convert it in to Bhairvee Raga (do modification) & then broadcast.. it would be well received by world.. .But overall very good attempt.. I like you to follow Malini Rajurkar if possible.. Dhanya Wad..
Namaste Arun dravidji. My pranams to kishori tai. I have learnt with smt Arati Ankalikar ji for about 12 years and now continuing my further taalim from smt vijaya jadhav gatlewar ji. Have learnt the bandish from Arati tai. I wasn't aware of the antara sir. I have sung what I was taught. I would be certainly interested to know or learn the original antara.
Amazing Voice. Just don't get stuck on performing. The true purpose of inventing Nada Yoga is something else. The final is that you become a Nada Siddha Yogini. I wish to see that. When I meet people outside, I wish to meet such yogis.
You have a very sweet voice. Your style is like Gwalior gharana, not like Jaipur gharana. This must be Aarti's influence. There are over 40 of my concert recordings on UA-cam, uploaded by either "Sangeetveda1" or "Gharandaj Gayaki" channels, in case you wish to listen to any. Many of these are Jaipur gharana specialty Raags. I know both your Gurus well. Please convey my regards to Smt. Vijayatai.

Yes, i was thinking the same
Without much knowledge of classical music, I can say that a day of Spiritual Person should start with listening to THIS!
I do not know much about Gharanas. But At first listening I was sweetly reminded of Kishoritai minus the razor-sharp singing of Kishoritai. You have a different voice and it has its own magic. My compliments !

Absolutely beautiful. The slow, melodious, unfolding of Bhupali is as it should be! Touches the soul.

Very nice, hearing her for very first time. The bandish and her singing seems to come from jaipur Atrauli style
