    Guess who accidentally bought sublimation decals for cups...and didn't realize it until they arrived. LOL guess who is getting a tumbler heat press!

    I have been wondering the pictures and designs you use can you print them out with a circut or do you use any pictures

    You have no idea, but you have given me so much inspiration… At what temperature and how many seconds did you do the glass tumbler at?

    What made you do the Tumblr at 335° and then for a minute? I do my tumblers at 375 for 75 seconds and I don’t rotate it when I’m using a 20 ounce tumbler like you did in this video. I am new to this so I thought I would ask. I just use what the machine settings said to use. Thanks

      I'm just learning in this video, so you're probably in the right and just need to leave it be. The temp and time guidance I got from the HTVRont website for their tumblers, but I've since learned that ghosting is going to happen if you press a second time.
      I've ALSO learned that the black ink can stagnate if you don't print for a while :(

    I use sublimation paper on my shirts but usually not on my mugs/tumblers.. I just use hammer mill paper.. Look it up it works.. I mean it works on fabric but I still usually use sublimation paper :) Also, I just saw someone doing the mugs & they didn't need to rotate the tumbler because even that little gap still sent enough heat over .. I haven't gotten mine yet. Also, HTVront has the worst customer service out of any other company I have ever dealt with ( and I have 10's of thousands of dollars in craft equipment & supplies.. I got their press & I did order their Tumbler press but I stay away from their products because if you have a problem they are REDUNCULOUS as in if they don't send you something they will run you around in circles for a picture of something you don't have I finally gave up & made a vow to TELL EVERY ONE on earth so it doesn't happen to them! Hope it was worth the 10-dollar item they ripped me off of!

      You might not be pressing for long enough OR the printer head could be clogged. I've had both happen to me. Usually it's been not pressing long enough, but then my Epson tank printer needed to have some extra unit swapped out (it discards of extra ink in this "maintenance tank" thing in the back) before black started to look less green.

    My mother had a computer portrait business in the early 90’s. We went around to fairs/festivals sublimating on metal, mugs, t-shirts, calendars, etc. It is interesting to watch how ‘new’ and popular it is. The colors were as vibrant as the ones you showed in the video.

    • @fiercekittenz

      You do if you want to print your own sublimation designs. If you have a friend or a business where you can buy printed designs then you wouldn't need one.

    It seems the prints for sublimation are much more detailed than anything from cricut vinyl. The finished products are smooth unlike Cricut, correct?

    i dont know anything about sublimation. but i heard you say sub paper? does it have special ink? special anything? where do i learn about it? not just using it but what it is. thank you

    • @fiercekittenz
      @fiercekittenz  10 місяців тому +2

      Oh yeah, I can cover that in another video, but for now I'll briefly explain! Basically you need a special printer for sublimation, plus paper that is meant to be heat transferrable as that's basically what sublimation is. The printer densely prints the ink into the paper. If you don't use sublimation paper, it won't activate and transfer the ink to the material when heated. As far as blanks go, they must be special made for sublimation. All of the tumblers and mugs I used are coated with a layer of material that will accept the ink/dye. If you're sublimating apparel or cloth, it has to be 100% polyester. There's sublimation sprays that'll apply a coating to an area of cotton fabric, but I didn't have much success with it.

    We bought a standard convection oven and it was almost $100 cheaper and gives better results

    • @fiercekittenz
      @fiercekittenz  8 місяців тому

      I've heard that convection ovens and toaster ovens can work well! I honestly am so new to sublimation that I wouldn't know for sure :( I do like how little space this press takes up though. They want to send me one for hats and I'm droooling at the possibility of being able to do leather/leatherette patches.

      I have a chart that has exact sizes for each of the 3 tumbler sizes that I make and each coffee mug style. I take the image into inkscape and size it exactly to what I need and then cut it. No ghosting and the seams match up perfectly.
