    I’m sorry for the lack of content ...I’ve been stressed out with the move lately... Growing up I’ve been afraid to tell people where exactly I lived in Jamaica because of the prevalence of classism. I don’t care about where you live or “social classes” but many in Jamaica do. I just want to relate with my fellow Jamaicans and live good.

      America is no longer the land of opportunity. Especially for BLACK MEN. Most black youth who came here over the years ended up selling drugs
      A lot of them went to prison and. Got deported. Even if they found a piece a job they faced a lot of discrimination.
      If American black men all lack up inna jail. Where is the opportynity for you.
      Unless you have a direct skill like nirsing or you can find a jamaican or family business that guarantee you employment it not easy.
      Farm worker if you have the back gor it. But inless it is organic farm.. You jeopardise your health workin in GMO and pestiside crops. Get cancer and die early.
      Even whyte people cannot find jobs. Many white people live on the streets and in the woods especially in california.

    • @boxingthoughts4982
      @boxingthoughts4982 5 років тому +6

      Jamaica's issues are much different but the racism in America is hard to understand....it's actually crazy. I went to Miami this year for the 1st time I've been America. Had fun but did not like the vibe. I'm a White British man who grew in Portland and I love JA even with its problems but would never want to live in America...Only thing I'm jelous of is the flight price to go back....Americans can visit JA 3-4 times a years for the same price we pay for 1 flight from England....that's sad

    • @Caribbeanprincess1
      @Caribbeanprincess1 5 років тому +2

      I agree. Flight prices are cheaper, but that's where it stops. I LOVE Portland, if there's such a thing as heaven, portland must be it....the scenery & serenity!! Wow.

      The grandfather was wise but unfortunately didn't pass that wisdom on to his kids. That's where black people go wrong, the don't think in generations.
      White people sit down and teach their kids wealth creation and lock up things in wills and trust funds, so after you are dead, you still controlling the wealth and if your children didn't follow through what you tell them to increase it, you still have it in the family. One day a wise great, great grandchild must born, to increase the legacy.

    This is what I tell foreigners all the time. Jamaica's main issue is classism not racism. No matter what you tell some black Americans dem just cognitive dissonant. Some of Uptown and downtown relate to each other like how some and black and white ppl relate to each other in America. Watching the video I was hoping your family wasn't going to sell the house. I think we as Jamaicans just don't know what we have. I don't know why we think farrin better dan Jamaica. We are always second class citizens in other people's countries.

      It's normally (although there are outliers) correlated to class in a number of post-colonial countries. Look at the faces of the business class in Ja- (there are normally brown/ligh-skinned and look nothing like the rest of ordinary Jamaicans in either the rural or urban sense of the word). There are many Jamaicans within the island that are Othered as well, hence 2nd class citizens in their own country primarily due to historical, socio-economic & political reasons. Ask yourself the counterfactual; Why do 'othered' Jamaicans prefer to live the seemingly "2nd class citizen" life abroad instead of returning to Yard? The answer is grounded in one's rationality (I'm not even a big fan of rat.choice theories).

Too few of Us have seen, or have known of such splendor some among Us enjoy. As you have said the insidious, and sinister nature of classism is disparaging. It is unfortunate that although many among Us are full of "Religion" envy, covetousness, and classism prevail, which precludes solidarity. Compassion, and understanding of one another is at an all time low, or ceases to exist. I was just about to ask you is it still possible to convince your parents to rent out the home instead of selling it? Up until you said you are coming to get it back one day. Make it happen, gain back your legacy love. You will get it done. Sorry you are loosing memories but you are gaining new ones.

    That's a really nice house and the grounds is amazing with all those trees, your dad
    should have kept it in the family. You should really go back to Jamaica some day
    and buy back that house. America is not all it's cracked up to be, especially these
    days and times. I have been living in the US for almost 30 years and would love to
    go back home to Jamaica. Here in the US some people will work all their
    life then end up buying Condo Town Homes where there is a tiny bit of
    back yard and tiny front porch, no place to plant trees and things like that. That
    house and property is a gem, don't wait too long to buy it back.

Missed Jamaica badly . But I prevailed and now souring to bigger heights as we speak. Just be encouraged. Who knows you can probably buy back that very same house and more in the future ✊🏽🙏🏽

    Definitely know how you feel , some people would say you're getting a big opportunity so you should not feel this way because alot of persons out there want to get the opportunity to go aboard.. I have been legal to live overseas from 2016 and it has been a struggle staying here. I have moved back to Jamaica multiple times where my wife and son lives , it's a very hard thing for me so I understand how your feeling first hand. Leaving something that is important to you. Fast forward 2019 finally decided to leave again for good and work towards getting them here which should have been the plan from day one however your goals are shadowed when you're not in the right frame of mind.
