And listen don't you ever ever be afraid or feel uncomfortable when you're eating out with other people and want to order vegan there is nothing wrong with that. You're good I promise!😊❤

I am so with Chris on the not thinking about the animal I’m eating or I can’t. I can do eggs because those are basically chicken menstruation but even thinking about that too long makes me sick. It’s crazy how many of us will dissociate when we are eating meat and block out that we are eating once living animals.
I really loved this episode for multiple reasons! First obviously you and Chris, but I also loved the editing and I actually related to both of your hospital stories (not necessarily the reasons for injuries, but the feelings behind it!) Weirdly enough, I also have paresthesia in my whole left leg this year, but they finally gave me an MRI and it's from 2 slipped and turned discs in my spine compressing on the nerves. Hopefully yours is just a temporary pinch from your fun escapade! Ha! I used to also over trust doctors like Chris and over share (and I'm part of the LGBTQ community) and then had a few bad experiences which makes me more avoidant to share now. Anyway, I just love both of you guys and it felt like sitting down with two good friends and listening to deep conversation. ❤

Odd indeed but a GREAT story behind why Laura's "Comfortably Numb"😎 Chris has a valid point. I went to the doc for IBS and they took me off meds my gastro doc gave me because the long-term side effect was Parkinson's 😒. Staying in tune with your body is necessary. And the baby chicken dish is Balut. A Filipino delicacy. Ugh! Not cool but my Filipino friend LOVED IT.
And to Chris... I refuse to take protonix and nexium and what has helped me with less side effects is PEPCID which Dr can prescribe but you can buy "over the counter". I'm no dr just trying to maybe help. Too many things have horrible side effects unfortunately but some of us have to choose one regardless. It comes down to how you feel and what you're comfortable taking.
You’re awesome Chris! I’m like you with health stuff. As for you Laura, you’re probably Ehlers Danlos and that means you may tend to have fragile tissue and neurologic weirdness like this especially as you get older. And sadly Ehlers Danlos people, because they have lots of weirdness, tend to be viewed by doctors as hypochondriacs when they are not, because the connective tissue disorder isn’t well understood by most doctors. There’s much ignorance in healthcare, and, I feel, too much use of “stress” to explain things doctors don’t understand.
My PCP is amazing & just happens to be homosexual (her wife is also lovely-they even rescue animals together, a true thing of beauty) and while I am heterosexual, she is the best. I can (and have!) basically told her anything and we have laughed about these things together. Last time I was seen, she was literally showing me dog & cat videos on her phone as my BP was being tested, so the # was far lower than at my Specialists offices. 😅 I was also once in the ER (in college) and there was a highly inebriated, difficult patient divided between myself and a curtain. The ER doc comes in to examine him, and I overheard this patient vehemently (& loudly) claiming he didn’t come to the ER just so some doctor could stick his finger up his arse. Doctor: “Well, respectfully sir, I didn’t go to med school for (x) amount of years just so I could stick my finger up your a*s, either, and yet here we are…”. I was so ill and yet also silently shaking laughing so they wouldn’t hear me. Because all that situation needed was an extra wrench thrown into it at that point! 😂
Big Pharma in US. This whole conversation made me so sad. There needs to be non homophobic doctors out there! I hope you find one! And Laura that is why you can”t stand doctors because so many of them really suck and we all know that unfortunately. Lol This conversation confirms it! Ughhhhh😢
Laura you need to have an MRInof your spine bc that nerve can be in your spinal area and be compressed. Either steroid injection or surgical intervention may be needed if it continues. Please stay on top of this

COULD be that the doc didn't know what you were talking about because you called it camo-mile tea instead of camo-meel tea lol I've NEVER heard it said the way Chris said it. That doesn't mean it isn't right, because I don't know BUT I've only ever heard chamomile tea pronounced camo-meel lol
