the crazy girl is doubtful stronger than shaltear. first of all, she was very underprepare when fighting against the group the mindcontrol her. no suit of armor, no household summons, no split to 2 like the fight with momonga. 2 the guy who said she is no stronger is just a human, can he really tell?
Dude you question a lot of things but didn't question about the Rubik's Cube? the Rubik's Cube is weird 600 years ago it wasn't present in this new world Until this Six Great Gods introduce it to them. And where do you think Rubik's cube invented? Right in our real world. This means that These 6 great gods have high possibility of being players. When the game server shutdown, there might be other players also playing and then got trapped just like Momonga. But they maybe transported from different time. These 6 great gods might be transported 600 years ago and Momonga is in present.
Buku Buku Chagama is the older sister to peroroncino, the one that had the voice job in that Ero Game... She also voiced the item Aura is wearing which is apparently a clock, it is also the same Ainz set before the start of the fight against Shaltear... before the fight Ainz started THAT timer and by the end of the fight the alarm went off telling Ainz that the "spell" he had casted was ready to be used essentially... He Gave the clock/watch/timer to Aura and aura is super happy because she gets to hear the voice of her creator whenerver the alarm goes off... in this case it was just for lunch... It is nothing to think to hard about... Ainz just gave her a gift...
Considering there is never actually straight out confirmation (while the light novel does)... Did you pay attention to the fact that they sad the Rubik's cube was a toy that was brought as a "gift" from the "six GODS" 600 years ago? Hinting at the fact that there were PLAYERS here 600 years ago...
@@ShadowNeo_2The players were not from 600 years ago, but they entered this world 600 years ago. There is also a spin off novel where Ainz came here 100 years earlier. It seems that players can come into this world at random points in time.
Yes, apparently more players were isekai'd into this new world but in different time periods. If I'm not mistaken there were at least two other groups of players and some even had children
The maid Dog says WAN (aka woof) at the end of each sentence because it is a trope for anime characters based on animals to say their thing at the end of sentences just a trope... Dogs say Wan (woof), cats say Nyan (meow), Bunnies say Pyon (no idea how they are supposed to sound in english), Mice say Chu (squeak), and what does the fox say? in english no idea but in japanese it is Kon... In this very particular case the dog maid hesitated for a simple reason... this anime world technically does not have the trope of animal character saying that... but her creator from Ygdrassil being an otaku set her up to do so... therefore though she does not have anything that physically compels her to say Wan at the end of the sentence, she remembered she is supposed to say it and had a delayed reaction and then she did say it... It was just a joke for us as viewers to laugh when we noticed she is just saying it because she was told she should not because the has to...
THAT FIGHT WITH SHALTEAR AND THE ARMOUR IS A FLASH BACK TO WHEN SHE GOT MIND CONTROLLED BUT ITS A SCEAN WE NEVER SAW. THEY LIKE TO KEEP A LOT OF THINGS A MYSTERY. THEY SLOWLY EXPLAIN THINGS BIT BY BIT
@@GOTGamescreators of anime wanted to draw Shalltear in armour later to cut costs but when Ainz found her, she already was in armor. So anime created a plot hole out of nowhere, because Ainz noticed that there was a big fight
- Luke catching the six GODS of 600 years ago and totally missing the obvious thingy. Rubik's cube is not supposed to exist in this new world. Now, take a wild guess of the identities of those gods. - 5:43 Soooo, this was explained better in the novel. While Ains was showing off his crystal thingy over at the adventurers and negotiating about the rank upgrade, that is exactly the time when the platinum lord(a.k.a. as the dragon "inside" that suit of armor) fought against Shalltear. Also, while the crazy girl was trying to solve the rubik's cube that is what the two of them were talking about.
Clarification from season 1, when Gazef(strongest warrior) was almost killed it was because he didn't have any special gear or weapons with him. Gear makes a big difference in their world and the books explained more during the ambush that Gazef was specifically sent without his gear because of political reasons, but he was instantly convinced it was a secret plot to assassinate him which is why he ordered his men to abandon him.
Nah it's not just Mather of items, the explanation here is he is the strongest but at public world, there's a lot people in shadows who are way strongest that him Clementine is one, she suppose doesn't exist plus he just the strongest in that kingdom not in the theocracy or the empire.
@@carlosem3450 He won a tournament in the kingdom and was given the title "Strongest Warrior" its actually why a lot of people refer to him as such, but the reason he was "so easily taken down" by a group of enemy knights is because it was in fact an assassination attempt. They were equipped with gear that let them use magic more powerful than what they normally could, and Gazef was literal sent out with basic armor and weapons(no magical enhancements). There are definitely people out there that are stronger then Gazef, but as I said gear matters a lot in this world. Regular people equipped with incredibly powerful gear will be able to compete with people normally more powerful than them, this is actually a major plot point later on.
5:31 yeah the platinum lord fought shaltear while she was under the world item whammy this happen during the time momonga was showing off his lv 8 crystal to the adventurer guild
The lizard man called the other lizard man his brother and said that his sister in law, not his sister, told him his brother's tail always reflected his real feelings. Nothing strange there, your brother's wife is your sister in law.
Going thru some things… (NO SPOILERS) 0:55 - rubix cubes were brought to this world by the six great gods. They weren’t an item in this new world…. Ig that can only mean one thing about the great gods 600 years ago. (They were players) 4:56 - they’re not talking about that rubrics cube girl. They’re talking about one of her comrades named evileye who u will meet. 6:00 - this fight took place when shalltear was in a mind controlled state and wasn’t shown in the anime for some bizarre reason 🤦🏽♂️. PDL (the dragon) came across shalltear and lost. 8:00 - the woman basically gave an important ring to “the youngster” gazef stronaff 10:49 - the power differences are a little confusing rn. This is due to us just being introduced to so many new faces. PDL, the old woman and zesshi don’t have a lot of screen time this season which is unfortunate. 16:49 - this is actually a very powerful scene. It’s shows … loyalty ig :/. Good scene overall tho, too bad ainz ended it early though… 32:28 - he only does nice things and helps those who can benefit nazerik.l as he only cares about his creations and the tomb he built with his friends. U will see this a lot more in this season. This season brings in a bunch of new characters and we see more of nazerik and more of its inhabitants. It’s not just floor guardians that call this place home.
To clarify some things (no spoilers): Yes, the beginning showed a bit of the different forces/organizations acting around the world. The fight between Shalltear and the dragon (using the suit of armor) is shown but jut a little bit in the movie (it's a resume movie but has some extra scenes). It happens off-screen of the anime season 1, before Ainz went to deal with Shalltear. Also, I BELIEVE that the talk between Rigrid and the dragon can be simplified/interpreted as: there's something that seems to occur every 100 years or so, and it probably has to do with Shalltear (Nazarick) appearing in this world; sometimes it works alongside the world (probably friendly players) and sometimes not (players doing whatever they want?), with beings from Yggdrasil probably having appeared in some of the previous occurrences, like the Six Great Gods who brought the Rubick's Cube to this world 600 years ago.
Semi-spoiler from the LN, but it doesn't impact the Anime plot in any significant way. Yggdrasil ran for twelve years before the servers were shut down. In the New World approximately every 200 years Yggdrasil players ended up in the New World. Speculation has it that for every year of the game's operation, some player(s) ended up Isekaied into the New World. The early ones weren't notable since they were low level, and thus going back a couple thousand years of New World time didn't have enough impact on the New World to change it significantly enough to be remembered in history. Starting 600 years ago, some Max level players hit the world in a batch of six. They became "Great Gods" in the New World, and the basis for each of the six scriptures of the Slane Theocracy. Being moral races except for one, they all died of old age. Then 400 years ago the "eight greed kings" appeared and wrecked havoc on the New World until they eventually turned on each other and killed each other off. Finally 200 years ago the "Evil Gods" appeared in the world, and were defeated by the thirteen heroes mentioned by the young party in season one. Rigrit and the Platinum Dragon Lord first seen here in season 2 were members of the 13 heroes, along with the hero Landfall who was being spoken about by Rigrit as being forced by Rigrit to join the Adamantium adventuring party "Blue Rose" to replace her as she was retiring. Blue Rose has been mentioned a couple of times in Season 1 as one of two Adamantium parties operating in the Kingdom of Re-Estize prior to "Darkness" (Momon's party) being raised to Adamantium level.
@@zmortis111 it should be 100 years, the Six Great Gods and 8 Greek Kings were 100 years apart. Along with them, theres another instance of arrivals that are only 100 years apart. Theres no evidence that people were ripped from the game every year, the only instance we have of it are 2 targets, near each other, at the end of the game, and they arrived 200 years apart. The Demon Gods/Evil Deities have hints of existing longer than 200 years before Ainz
If Luke is still struggling over Ainz killing those unnamed adventurers that followed him to the Shalltear fight, he's going to have a hard time going forward. XD
You mostly did a good job picking up on things this episode. But the early part is inevitably going to be a bit confusing for an anime-only as its a bunch of interludes from other character's perspectives stuffed together into the early parts of this episode. Also when I watched seasons 2 and 3 I very rarely skipped the endings of season 2 and 3 because those Endings are very symbolic and incredibly powerful in context, especially after certain episodes. 5:58 this fight occurred in-between when the black scripture withdrew and when Shaltear fought Ainz, 11:05 Mostly correct they were 2 separate scenes representing 2 separate New World factions, the first one with the girl with Rubix Cube represented the Black scripture of the Slain Theocracy. The second scene was of the Platinum Dragon Lord. 13:05 yes that’s the idea more or less, It’s also partly concealed with illusion magic by Mare, but even so if you got close enough you would discover the tomb. Most if it is underground floors though. 19:50 Head of the “normal maids” of Nazarick Pestonya. Unlike the “battle maids” of the pleides they are all level 1, but all the normal maids were also designed by the former Guild members of Ainz Ooal Gown. Pestonya herself is significantly stronger than the normal maids she leads though. 20:10 she says woof because she’s a Dog there is no other reason
pestonya is like at least lv70, she is one of the few dedicated healer builds in all of nazarick and able to cast super tier magic (ergo min lv70) also she is supposed to have a speech tick where says "woof" at the end of all her sentences, like a proper anime chara would or ya know a vtuber saying "peko" at the end,.... but she keeps forgetting to do it... so goes "eehr uuh.. woof" etc... also pestonya confirmed for bestest girl. literally.
If you think about it, Shalltear was wearing her casual clothes when she got mind controlled. But for "whatever reason" she was in armor when Ainz-Sama appeared. Logically something must have happened to make her wear it.
Unfortunately, contrary to the LN, the anime shows Shalltear in her normal attire when Ainz meets her with Albedo, so anime-onlys can't make that deduction.
26:37 Yes!!! Never played Mass Effect, but i understand completely. Sister in law Luke, your reading is frustrating. But they are tribe of lizardmen, they could be closely connected.
yep; they know about YGGDRASIL, Ains isn't the first gamer to be transmuted to this world. a little deep lore the books and LN touch on that the anime doesn't... 600 years ago, the 6 great gods arrived (max level yggdrasil players) they used a "world item" to make a wish, transforming this worlds laws to work more like Yggdrasil, basically adding the yggdrasil magic system to this world (where before there was only wild magic, which dragons had mastered). 400 years ago, the "greed kings" arrived, these were 8 people who came to this world with their guild hall like Momonga did. They exterminated the dragon kings and drove all other races (but humans) to the edge of extinction. in the process they turned on eachother, and this allowed the lone remaining dragon kings a chance to kill the greed kings off. the Silver dragon she's talking to was one of the very last survivors of that battle. He is not really a "dragon king" as the dragon kings of old were counted but he's the most powerful dragon alive who is in public. he has taken over the greed king's guild hall for his lair. 200 years ago, an invasion of NPC monsters from Yggdrasil and a handful of low level players arrived. it took almost 100 years for the world to overcome this invasion, the Platinum Dragon king (the silver dragon shown in the beginning) joined the "great heroes" who defeated this invasion disguised as that suit of armor (hence her jibe that her friend was the armor not the dragon, since he hid who he was lied about his identity and hid behind that armor). The low level humans died at the end of this event... as for what this means, well this world is well aware of people from another world. thus far those people have been firmly aligned with humanity, with only one of them being inhuman (yet he founded the human supremacist nation the Slaine Theocracy). of the 6 great gods, 5 were mortal races and died natural deaths of old age (human), the other was a skeleton like Ains, and could have lived to this day, however he was killed by the greed kings. as for the part you feel like you missed. Yeah, it was sorta cut out of the first season. The platinum dragon king visited Shalltear in his remote armor, if you watch the first season again you can see where it happened. Ains is remote viewing shalltear, and she's in her loli clothing. as you can see in that brief cutscene in season 2, the platinum dragon king attacks her, she's wearing the loli clothing, the next we see her (chronologically) is ains standing across that field from her about to fight her, and she's already in her blood red armor. In short, the platinum dragon king got his ass kicked by Shalltear (well the remote armor he used did); as to why he knows about guild items? because he's sitting in a guild hall, he has access to everything that guild once had...
Fun fact with no spoilers: The dog maid indeed says woof with delay because she forgets about it, since the woof itself is something her creator added to be like that. And Floors of Nazaric are each in different dimensions, thats why the entrance seems small compared to floors.
Those innocent hummans were going to die by shalters hand if they accompanied him and there deaths would heal her, not to mention the problems with them knoing he is undead or a magic caster.
explanation for the first 3 scenes at begin of the ep: the intro of the ep shows a bunch of different scenes from different kingdoms. first scene with crazy girl and the knight dud is taking place in the slane theocrazy, dud is the leader of the black scripture, he was reporting to his leader at the end of ep13, crazy girl is part of the black scripture, but hadnt gone with em last time, due to reasons (she probably just didnt felt like it...) the leader thinks crazy girl is stronger. 2nd scene is taking place in the argland council states, which is controlled by bunch of different races, among em like a bunch of dragons, as stated in this ep... the old lady is a former adventurer (is implied that they were part of the 13 heroes adventurer group, dented armour in the corner was also one of the 13, was stated that majority of these duds were all non humans in various forms, half humans with demon blood etc etc), the dragon gave her a magic ring at some point, which she handed down to gazeff. the dragon knows about yggdrasil. may or may not be a player. the old lady also aware of yggdrasil. old lady thinks dragon is stronger then anyone. he had a run in with shalltear, after the black scripture had fleed her location, he engaged and briefly fought her before fucking off cuz she was denting in his expensive armour. 3rd scene takes places in the re-estize kingdom - the one where we have seen most stuff happening in so far - momonga became an adventurer here in the city e-rantel. is showing some political stuff happening. there is a lot of political stuff happening in the background of overlord at all times.
Goddamn, I never watched someone react to Overlord so I wasn't expecting to know so much new information from reading these comments, even after being an avid fan of Overload since season 1 😂 I feel like Luke right now
Ains control an army of anything that's unhuman, he's a Necromancer himself, even if the plot wasn't already saying "He is Evil", the title doesn't lie about, it's all there~
Just look at the members of Nazarik, outside of Aura and Mare, most of them pretty much radiate "bad guy", especially when they talk about wanting to kill inferior humans.
So, in the books, when Ainz arrives to fight Shalltear, she is already in her armor. That is becouse Tsa (the dragon) already engaged her in a fight before him, but run away in the end.
Wait, I know the voice of 2 characters in the first 4 minutes, like, literally off the top of my head. And they're HUGE. The Girl in the opening scene is voiced by Yukari Tamura, who also, among many others, voiced Suzuha in Steins;Gate and Jibril in NGNL, plus she also is an Idol and sang the opening songs to a bunch of series. And second, the Old woman with the Dragon is the voice of Son Goku (and his sons) in Dragon Ball/Z/GT/Super as well as Dr. Kureha in One Piece. Man, it's always nice to hear familiar voices unexpectedly in series.
how the world item used on shaltear was owned by one of the 6 gods gos the church and was passed down to that lady that blasted shaltear remember that the dragon dress? that was the world item
The penguin if i remember correctly gets introduced at some point in the "pleple pleiades" shorts, the are canon and go 1 to 1 with every chapter of every season IF I REMEMBER CORRECTLY. And you get to see more characters:)
😂❤well done, that first part was very confusing for all of us. Until i read and watched way ahead, that's when i could piece theough what you pieces through 😅
There were "movies" which were basicly a compilation of season 1 and that fight happened there like an extra scene. There were in the past people from the game who arrived and the reason why rhe magic system is the same as ygdrassil (magic tiers from 1 to 10), is due to that. And they also influenced the world in other ways. There are MANY characters presented and in the novels the author gives you lots of backgroun on them. For example the necromancer defeated by Nabe had a backstory where he became a necromancer due to the guilt he felt for his mother death. She collapsed while he was away playing and he felt that if he had returned early as she told him he might have been able to save her, so he wants to become an undead to have limitless time to research a way to revive her. This will be spoilery so be warned: Aura and Mare's "dress code" was a choice of their creator Buku buku chagama who is also the older sister of shaltear's creator peroroncino. She was the older abd believe her little brother should do as she said and so she created the twins as an embodiment of how she believe their relationship should be .... exagerating it of course. Mare is tomboyish, outspoken and bossy while the boy Mare is quiet, submisive and does as his sister says. And other detail is that the NPC have taken some personality traits from their creators even when that was not part of their bacground.
the Dragon attack Shelltear between her brainwashing and before Ainz found her, if you look back to season 1 you can see the ground around her is slightly damaged .
Ainz is the protagonist and hero of Nazarik and its denizens. Ainz and Nazarik's denezens are working their way to becoming the villains of the New World.
That fight with shalter happened after the flash back with the black scripture and before Ainz killed her. The girl the dragon and the old lady was talking about is a member of the blue rose (adamantite adventures in the kingdom), not the lady with black and white hair.
SPOILER (READ AT OWN PERIL): I'm pretty sure the person she beat down to force into adventuring was Evileye. Evileye seemed to be punishing herself and trying to isolate herself from the world. In contrast, the leader of the Blue Roses seems to have largely chosen her path in response to her father and his actions being super improper in her eyes (she does want to prove him wrong).
@@chardhrosreaper2307 The person she beat was Landfall, one of the thirteen heroes. Who happens to be going by the name Evileye as Landfall faked her own death.
I mean from what we’ve seen so far Ains is just doing what he can to keep the creations of his precious friends safe. That’s all he seems to care about so he’ll do both good and bad to make sure that happens
you have to think about it that way : it was a guild of 42 players with tons of area for roleplay and stuff like that, so of course they created a LOT of random NPCs beside the floor guardian, wether it's crafter npcs or just npcs to serve as decoration . Imagine your ark/conan exile/palworld base and then imagine you make a super base for 42 players and each of them has their "kinks" and stuff they like and customized areas of the base and a few dozen NPCs. There are probably at least hundreds "worked" that have custom appearances (if every one of the 42 player made 10 custom NPCs that's already 420 custom NPCs) and thousands of generic fodder/worker/maidss etc.
The part where the armor comes out fighting with the vampire is a scene that the animators or the animation house forgot to add, but that fight happens a little after Shalltear is controlled or a little after Ainz is going to control her. see, the dragon is called Platinum Dragon Lord.
4:57 no they are talking about evil eye of the blue roses she was a human princess that got turned into an immortal vampire and then became an adventurer under the 13 heroes
Dont take words for granted. (as who is stronger as who) Because what they saw so far they think... But never have they realy tested there strength against ainz. Clementine was also convinced that she would destroy momonga. Nigul started with disbelieve about ainz his words and fought.
around 8:20 "Am I watching the same anime?"... erm Yes in short some stuff were skipped to make the season finale Ainz-Shaltear fight so it can get confusing here, however from this point on it will be less of Ainz and more of worldbuilding sooo strap in. 10:00 ish soo Gazeff Stronoff is the strongest in the kingdom but, there is a kaviat, he is the strong... For a human, and he was beaten by Angel Spam because he can handle couple Angels but not dozen, couple dozen etc. 20:20 roundish it is exactly that she forgot the woof it is a trope
they skipped some great stuff from the books for pacing issues and also whole arcs, which they just end up mentioning them for book readers; this is their way of saying "we are going to skip that part, but it happened" 11:42 they didn't want to show the strong warriors at the 1st seasons they want to SLOWLY Build up the power base of the New World compared to Nazarick
31:56 what did you forget the ending of season 1 when albedo said it be good to kill off the lizards they found to make undead? thats what ains gave cocutus to do to go merk them lizzies "i think momonga ains is the bad guy" ..... well duh! wtf did you think he was the hero? the name of the anime is freaking overlord!
Ainz is the hero . . . of Nazarik. By the way all of Nazarik are the villains of the New World's humans. They are more ambiguous to the non-human races of the New World.
A bit of backstory that doesn't make it into the Anime but is part of the Light Novels. This isn't a spoiler as it is "supplemental information" about the game Yggdrasil. The game Yggdrasil has a "karma system" where the players and NPCs are rated based on the deeds they perform in game. Perform enough "good" deeds, and a character's karma raised into positive values. Perform enough "evil" deeds, and a character's karma lowered into negative values. The vast majority of the Nazarik players and their NPCs have negative karma values. Some exceptions existed such as Touch Me and his NPC Sebas who have positive karma values. This karma system says a lot about how players and the NPCs they build view "opponents" to their ambitions.
This is taking place a few days after Ains reclaimed Shalltear. What we are seeing are the repercussions of the recent events. The Re-estes Kingdom, which Gazef is aligned with, is about to engage in their 'annual' battle with the Empire, which will be shown in this series. We are introduced to Princess Renner (Third in line to the Kingdom) and Climb, her chosen escort. The 'crazy girl' is from The Slaine Theocracy. You are shown that the Theocracy and the Dragon were around when something of the nature of upheaval, which seems to relate to 'Players' from Yggdrasil. As you noticed, some of the things Ains was using was from Yggdrasil, which seem like they are literally 'artifacts' to this world. In the first season, the 'hill' was the one of Ains' first orders. They were in a new world and at this time, they disguised Nazarick as a means of protection. So, that 'maid' is Pestonya serving Aura lunch. One of the maids of Nazarick. The 'Uh woof', is the fact that when she was created, it was sort of a 'joke' that she would finish her sentences with 'woof'. As an NPC made real, it is sort of 'an afterthought' and 'reminder' that she was suppose to say 'woof', but forgetting from time to time. Lady Bukabukachama is Aura and Mare's creator, the 'watch' was the item she created for Ains as a 'reminder' timer, he gave it to Aura as a reward for her work last season and for working on building the decoy Nazarick One of things you don't realize in the first season... Is that Nazarick has quite a lot of 'sub-characters'. The bar scene here is seeing some of the 'background npcs' within the Tomb. And later, you will meet many more of them. Cocytus has been directed to subjugate the Lizardmen in the nearby swamp. He was also given a contingent of npcs to do so. It will be explained later. And we are introduced to the Lizardmen that Cocytus will be engaging with, which you see they are a relatively 'neutral' type group (Neither good nor evil) This is part of the 'conquer the world' plan that Demiurge and Albedo have drawn up, beliving this is Ains' wish. One of the things you will learn in this season is the 'grey area' of this world. BTW, do take note at the beginning of this episode, the mentioning of the fact that the 'Sunlight Scripture' was 'wiped out' and 'no bodies were recovered'... Keep that noodling in your head for a moment. :)
first season was very much focused on Ainz and Nazarick... season two jumps up straight into some insight into what has been going on, or is going on with the other 'major' powers around this world. You arent supposed to be able to put 2 and 2 together entirely just yet, but just make note of things and youll see yourself figuring things out as the story unfolds. One thing that is pretty common in anime is that any big powerful religion is usually pretty shady. So the rubric's cube part was with the Theocracy, you know them as the shady bastards trying to instigate wars by sending their people in disguise to slaughter innocent villagers, and they were a separate little scene than the dragon and Rigrit. Nazarick looks like that now since Mare put up the earthen walls around it and the rest of the 'hill' is completed as an illusion as discussed in Season 1... but Nazarick was a raid dungeon in the game, it was conquered by Ainz Ooal Gown, and converted to their guild's HQ. Of course don't get it twisted, it was STILL a raid dungeon, but the guild members were the bosses... Yggdrasil was a helluva game :D
One of the freedoms of Yggdrasil is the ability to both conquer locations in the game, and if your guild was powerful enough, turn a single location thus conquered into a guild base. Nazrik was a notoriously difficult high level (80+) raid dungeon that had never been conquered until the guild Ainz Ooal Gown defeated it. Thus they made it their guild's base, granting them the ability to use its raid dungeon features against invaders and to customize it to a significant degree. It was such a difficult raid that even when a group of guilds totaling 1500 players tried to raid it as Ainz Ooal Gown's base, they never defeated it being eventually stopped on the 8th floor before they could reach the ninth floor and the throne room beyond.
@@zmortis111 "notorious" implies it was well known, though the newly formed Ainz Ooal Gown were the first to discover it. Also it was 1500 players and NPC's, which is a big difference from 1500 players
I forgot about the “bad” people in the beginning. And I was suddenly reminded in this ep of a SUPER GOOD Anime. Restaurant To Another World. It didn’t get a lot of attention so it probably won’t get recommended enough, but I swear it is really good and unlike almost any other anime.
The Lizard brothers mentioned Sister-in-law/Wife, so its all good. IDK if they ever clear it up in the LN, but I have always gotten the impression that the Dragon we see here is a 'good guy' when compared to the other Dragon Lords, who all (from what I've seen so far) are all really bad dudes, which doesn't mean he is actually a truly "Good" guy, just relatively good compared to his peers. Also, him being good doesn't change the fact he is likely still an antagonist.
5:45 remember having same reaction when i was watching and i was watching week to week when aired i was like wtf did i miss a movie or something and started googling xD
Re: girl at start being stronger than Shaltear, it may or may not be true. It's worth remembering she was out on a somewhat covert mission and likely didn't go full tilt against her opponents, and was caught unawares by a world level item, besides. Their report is also likely under the assumption that she was later killed by "the adventurer Momon", when she very obviously is still around. Tdlr: a lot of info is less black and white and more matter of conjecture and perspectives.
yup, read the subtitle and focus, read the manga and read the novel because the world of overlord is so dark and bright. this is the only anime push me to read the novel, the details was the thing hooked me to this overlord.
Ainz is a player with level 100 who was summoned to the new world, even the level of the player who in legend is called the 6 great gods is only around level 70-80.
In the first season, we only saw Shalltear fight the Black Scripture (when she got mind controlled with the World Item that is in the Slane Theocracy's possession). The scene with Tsa's armor fighting Shalltear is a flashback he has. It happened after Shalltear was mind-controlled and was left there by the Black Scripture, who ran away because they knew they did not finish mind-controlling Shalltear before Kaire, the user of the World Item with the power to mind control, was hurt by Shalltear. As for the conversation between the Captain of the Black Scripture and the girl with black and white heterochromia from the beginning of the episode (her name on the Overlord wiki is Antilene Heran Fouche), the Black Scripture went inside the Re-Estize Kingdom to subjugate the Catastrophe Dragon Lord, as the Captain said, because their astrologer said that it would appear. I never read the light novels, but when Ninya and her group were traveling traveling with Momon to Carne Village to escort Nphirea, Ninya mentioned that there were legends in that general area of a dragon with the power over nature. Tying the dots together, no such dragon appeared, so either it was dead or sealed. If it was dead, maybe it could revive at some point, or maybe the dragon was undead. As for what I know of astrology, it can never tell you that a specific individual will appear as such, even less the name of an individual, but it could tell you via astrocartography that an individual with a lot of power or with certain characteristics could appear in a certain area at an interval of time. If that dragon happened to be undead, well, Shalltear is also undead, so if the Catastrophe Dragon Lord is the same as the dragon with the power over nature, and since Shalltear was in the area around E-Rantel, it may not have been strange for the Black Scripture and their astrologer to think that it was the Catastrophe Dragon Lord that would appear when in reality, they were there because of Shalltear, but they did not know that. As for the crybaby girl Inverun (her name on the Overlord wiki is Keno Fasris Invern), she is referring to Evil Eye from the Blue Roses (they will appear later this season). Seems Rigrit used to be part of them but forced Evil Eye to join them so that she could retire. As for the Six Great Gods of the Theocracy, Antilene Heran Fouche was using a rubik's cube. Given that the technology of that world seems to be medieval at best, this is an indication that the Six Great Gods of the Theocracy came from the same world as Momonga (now Ainz Ooal Gown). This is probably why the Theocracy's mages knew Yggdrasil spells, and why it is implied that the Theocracy possessed magic surpassing the 6th tier even though no human alive has been known to attain that beyond the 6th tier, for instance, The final angel that Nigun Grid Luin summoned when he fought Ainz outside of Carne Village used magic on Ainz beyond the 6th tier, when Ainz said that he finally knew what it felt to take damage and feel pain. Khajiit even told Nabe that the 7th tier was a myth, as he truly believed that. Are Six Great Gods still alive? I don't know. As for why Tsa and Rigrit seem to know Yggdrasil, they are either players, or they have fought players in the past, hence they know about players and the things they bring to the their world.
5:48 - iirc, it's just his imagination, but there's a side story written by the author of what would've happened if Shaltear fought with PDL (Platinum Dragon Lord - the dragon we've seen)
The Six Great Gods are all long dead. They were the first Players from YGGDRASIL to come to this world, but because 5/6 of them were humans, they still had human lifespans. When the old woman(Rigrit) said that the _armor_ is her friend, it's because the dragon(Platinum Dragon Lord) misled her into thinking a man was inside it, when really he just uses it like a remote control drone back when they were on an adventurer team. Platinum Dragon Lord sensed Shalltear from a distance and sent the armor to attack her, but she made him run away. It happened _before_ Ainz confronted her, and because Shalltear has no memory of that time, we can only see the conflict from the POV of Platinum Dragon Lord.
Hmm...it may be more fun if you know some more background information, it won't cause any spoilers because even the information won't be revealed in the show. 4:28 Rigrit is one of the 13 heroes 200 years ago, as well as Tsa the Platinum Dragon Lord. Yet Tsa is too large to go for an adventure & he has to protect something, so he sent an armor and remote controlled it instead. That's why Tsa apologized to Rigrit. 5:15 Tsa accidentally fought Shalltear when she was under mind-controlled, before Ains came to her. Of course, she lost this part of memory. 8:00 Rigrit gave the ring to a youngster, that was Gazef. Watch this part again. 12:56 As a recall, in season 1, Ains wanted to hide Nazarick from other people's sight. He ordered Mare to earth Nazarick to make it look like a hill, and cast illusion from its top-down view. 20:06 Pestonya sometimes forget to woof at the end of her words😂 This world is super huge but I hope it could be even larger😫I wonder what lies further east. This world is so fantastic. At the end, after you go through season 1, still you think our skeleton guy a good person?🙂even Tsa at the beginning defined Ains as an evil nature.
If you remember the end if the last episode from the first season, you will see that Ainz wanted to reinforce Nazarick's defenses and wanted to create undead warriors, but undead made from humans can only be up to Lv 40, so Albedo tells him of the Lizardmen village they found in the forest and wonders what kind of undead Lizardmen will make.
Welcome to season two! it is regarded as the slowest season but there is some great lore expansion so lots to look forward to! small notes: The lizardman said sister-in-law not sister so no incest there. - Also, Ainz is pretty much only nice to people from or people who benefit Nazarick, so... yeah, he's not the good guy. A little expansion on "Crazy girl" (hasn't been mentioned in the anime even in season 4 so I don't think they'll mention it so not sure if it counts as a spoiler?) The person you call crazy girl isn't actually stronger than Shalltear. it gets expanded on in a chapter in the light novels but basically the person talking to her told her that so she wouldn't go and test her strength against Shalltear. he didn't actually know if she was stronger than Shalltear.
The Lizard people are the ones that Albedo mentioned making undead soldiers out of at the end of season 1, because human undead soldiers are kind of weak and so she suggested making some undead soldiers out of Lizard People to see if those soldiers are stronger.
Let's hope you'll like this season as much as the last one! A lot of people drop the anime during the first half of this one unfortunately. They do not like how bot the author and the animator built the world so they drop it, which is sad because they would absolutely love everything after that part. 1- I can understand why you are confused. That part at the beginning isn't that easy to understand, but without spoiling anything, let's just say you saw some of the higher power in that world (not all, some) and their reaction both the the news about Shalltear (the first 2) or to the feeling in the air (the dragon). Also, you'll soon understand the second biggest part of the anime. It isn't just about the guild, there is something much bigger in the making and Overlord handle it very well. 2- Yep, in a way, you are right. Nazarick is camouflaged so it will be difficult to find it without getting close to it. It isn't impossible, but it isn't easy. Mare did a good job at using the terrain to make it seem like a normal hill. She is a powerful druid, so she was, by far, the most well suited to do that. 3- I think you misunderstand something... Ains will not do anything with the NPCs because he see them as his friends children. Would you sleep with one of your friends's daugther? That's what you are asking him to do here. At least, that's how it would feel for him. Let's be honest, it would be moraly wrong to do something like that. 4- That character you wondered about is just a normal maid. She isn't exactly spected for combat, although she would still be stronger than most humans, at least the untrained ones. She is a kobold if I remember correctly. Remember, the rule for Nazarick is no humans characters, so they made a variety of monster NPCs. 5- It is indeed a huge world when it comes to world building. Overlord is one of the best, if not the best example of world building done right. The world makes sense, it is well thought, it live by itself and Nazarick is just part of it. If wecompare to, let's say, Sword Art Online, the actual world building is leagues aparts. SaO, you might like it or not, that's not important, but the world building is very small, but brought in a manner that makes it seem way bigger. It is well made in that sense. On the other hand, Overlord have so much deep lore behind it, you can only wonder what was created first, the story or the world. How much time did the author put building the world, it's politics, it's pantheon, it's races, it's economy and everythng else before even beginning to write the story? It is really that big, the lore in itself could be almost as big as the light novel in term of volumes. I'm obviously exagerating, but not by that much, it is one of the deeper lore in any anime/mange/light novel/web novel out there.
Spiilers: Time possibly runs differently in each world and/or players were sent at/to different and/or multiple times. Players from Earth have clearly arrived hundreds of years in New World’s history, but players haven’t existed for hundreds of years. Our world time might be 2 years between major updates, but players seem to have arrived every 200 years or so.
600 years ago. six gods, all is player 400 years ago. eight greed kings, all player 200 years ago. 13 heroes, 2 or 3 is player rigrit and that dragon is one of the member of 13 heroes now is momonga(ainz)
Luke, what the Black Scripture missed was they fought Shalltear without her gear. Meaning the fully geared Zesshi / Antilene was only as strong as an unequipped Shalltear. Also that Ring adds +5 warrior levels to the user, and ignores the level cap.
Nice episode and reaction 20:40 Luke trying to understand the appearance of so many new characters 😅 30:24 Not blood related ...more like the same species
That flouting white knight with the many weapons was the player that beet Shalteer and used the World Item on her that ended in a semi failed brainwashing. NOTE: Not all players arrived at the same time, some where around much earlier.
The girl holding a Rubik's Cube mentioned the Six Great Gods, a group of players worshipped by the Slane Theocracy. These Six Gods were the first batch of players to arrive in the new world. The Dragon is called Platinum Dragon Lord. He isn't a player, but he knows about the existence of players because he is responsible for killing players who arrived in the new world before Ainz.
wasnt there a group that arrived even earlier and spread yggdrasil magic in that world?... think they were called the 8? kings of greed or something been some years since i last read the lightnovel :D
so, a dragon that must have been in a fight with shalltear at some point, a friend he knows for 2 centuries or more, and people popping up from yggdrasyl. perhaps, every now and then people appear here? and maybe the guy played when ainz guild was active before coming here?
Bukubukuchagama is indeed the player who created the dark elf twins, and she's also Perolonchino's sister. Her avatar in the game was a slime and she was so optimized for tanking that it was EXTREMELY difficult even for multiple players to kill her.
I remember watching the entire thing from S1 to the latest season. granted i read the novel until about volume 13 (i stopped because i lost where i was at lmao) but based on what was on the novels to anime its S1 - vol1-3 S2 Vol 4-6 S3 Vol 7-9 (best season so far also, Baa baa) S4 Vol 10-12
12:49 Everything impressive about the Great Tomb is beneath the ground. That above is as the name implies, a remarkable looking tomb entrance. Also to answer your question. Kind-of. Remember Ainz wanted the Tomb hidden. So Mare covered the outer rim of Nazarick's property with soil. They then created multiple dummy hills to blend it into the surroundings. Thus making it look unremarkable. 18:33 Not really a spoiler here. That would be an Elder Lich. 19:13 Just a reminder. Aura's creator is also the voice actress that appeared in the hentai game you heard about earlier. 19:34 She is a simple maid of the tomb. Not one of the battle maids. 21:41 Oh I should point out in case you missed it earlier. Those Adventurer's that fought Shalltear weren't going after her. They were out on a mission for the church to deal with a completely different matter. It just so happens E-Rantel is a major hub for the area. So they were passing through. 22:31 Well no you were right the first time. It is a very large world. Thats just a map of the local area. Similar to what you would have gotten in ancient times. Since most people don't need to know more than a kingdom or two beyond their own borders. 22:55 So yeah. Remember how you were impressed by the scrolls used before. Well this would be the limitation on why they can't just make loads. they need to figure out how to craft them too the quality required to hold the magic. Similar to how they're looking for better sources of bodies to make higher quality undead. 24:06 That delightful fellow is Clavu. He is part of the Myconid race. Which are effectively mushroom people. 28:42 It hasn't. She is just living out her fantasies. 30:20 Sister-In-law. Thats what the wife of your brother is called. Same as Mother-in-law, father-in-law, brother-in-law and so on. 33:13 Only Sith deal in absolutes.
So the start of this episode is the point where they introduce something important. Remember the years they stated here: 600 years ago rubiks cubes were introduced by the Six Great Gods, 200 years ago Rigrit and the dragon traveled together, and 100 years ago there was something that Rigrit asked if current events were an aftershock of. This is introducing that players enter the New World every 100 years.
13:30 "Un" is a way of saying 'yes' in Japanese. That's literally it. They do it in plenty of anime lol (or like; of nodding, more or less, from what I can gather)
The first scenes were kinda a summ-up of how some strong entities have started to react to Nazarick's actions, it's kinda introduction, kinda forshadowing, so the viewer is not supposed to understand it yet. Do you remember how the Dark Blade members were talking that having great strength is all that a man needs to woo a woman in this world. Well that girl from Theocracy (with the scythe) is a prime example of that logic. 17:53 Well you say disappointed, but lusting after your young nieces is how you get yeeted to isekai land in our neighborhood (Wink-wink). On the topic of good-evil, many modern animes are beyond that concept and Overlord is one of them, there are little to no sides of this conflict that are good or evil (which we can already get from the anime so it's not a spoiler) and you should view it more like a competition where everyone is trying to survive and win, not like a battle between good and evil.
Momonga aka Ainz, joined the guild of Ainz Oon Goal after being recued in game by Touch Me, the dude that was World Champion (bear with me as i dont know the full lore and i could make mistakes) the thing is that on the Ainz Oon Goal guild there was like this one rule in which the only players accepted were the ones with inhuman avatars, Momonga having the avatar of a Overlord which is like the ultimate form a Lich can have, hence why the other members of the Guild the players and NPC, all are not human, there not a single human withing Nazarik, that is why that penguin who is a cleaner dude from Nazarik and the dog girl look like that but they are just like a butler and maid. Even those that look human are not, for example Yuri Alpha is a Dullahan, so her head is not connected to her body, the blonde one that is with Sebas is a Slime, hence why she swallow that dude in the first season, Naberal Gamma i think is the same race as Pandora's Actor just that she has her levels in other classes which is why she looks human and Pandora's Actor can mimic others, think that the race is called Doppelganger. So no matter who you see in Nazarik, they are not human, they are some sort of monster which applies to all NPCs even if they look human, but is so that you dont see weird that they are people like Pestonya that has a dog's head and plays along with that saying "woof" at the end of her phrases but because its supposed that she was originally human but got a dog head in place of her original head. Its a play thing like when a cat girl adds the nyan at the end, Pestonya has to do it actively as its something that she really doesnt say but because she now has a dog´s head, then she has to add the "woof" at the end of her phrases. Pestonya is quite a nice NPC, she is really caring and has a really maternal side to her.
There is actually one human NPC in Nazerick, though she hasn't made an appearance in the anime; Aureole Omega, the youngest sister of the Pleiades. Being the youngest member she gets loved by and doted on by all of the others, she isn't thought of like other humans to them since she was made to be that way by the supreme beings. In every other case they're some kind of monster disguised as humans, because most of the guild members thought that having secondary monster forms to take during a fight was cool. There were also two rules you had to follow in order to join the guild. You had to be an inhuman character, and you had to be a working member of society. The second rule is what caused all the other members to eventually quit the game, none of the others were as dedicated to the guild or game as Ainz was and eventually put their lives over it.
In Overlord there is no good or bad people. There are only different shades of evil with an occasional act of self-serving benevolence sprinkled in for good measure.
You're right, Ainz is not a "good guy". He only does whatever benefits himself, his subordinates and Nazarick. When the benefit meets that of a group of humans, he doesn't hesitate to help, and when it is beneficial to kill, he kills no matter how many or how brutally.
The people at the end were the lizard men momonga wanted to make high leveled undead warriors out of (because dead humans make low level undead warriors) I think, I'm not 100% sure
idk if you go back to check explanations or not. But those guys at the start, the things that matter is that clementine was 7th seat, and stole the thing they put on potion boy. 8 and 9 seat was killed by Shalltear, why they were even there, we don't know. But the "world item" is namedropped, the downfall of castle and country is what brainwashed shalltear and the person who used it was injured, but survived Shalltear's attack. Nigun is the guy who summoned angels to attack Carne village, and the white/black haired girl with the scythe said that beating him doesn't mean anything (because that guy has no clue that people can be stronger than humans xD)
Maybe mentioned else where on the comments but the reason they are attacking the lizard men is that they are hoping to be able to create higher tiers of undead from their corpses rather then the lower level ones created from humans.
if you go close you MAY be able to see, since there are ilusions making look like a normal hill. Also, lets supose you will get close enought before being murdered by inv units.
"The girl finally raised her head to look straight at him. Her mismatched eyes seemed to sparkle with what seemed like curiosity, delight, and battle-lust. “Who do you think is stronger, between myself and that Vampire?” He had expected that question, and met it with a prepared answer. “You, of course.” “Really…” The girl looked back at her toy, as though she had lost interest in the topic. Within his heart, he breathed a sigh of relief. “What a shame. I was thinking I might be able to taste defeat.” As he heard her mutter to herself, he wondered, Who would win, if they fought? He had exchanged blows with both the girl and the Vampire, and he felt that the Vampire was superior. However, that Vampire would not be able to defeat “Certain Death.” That was because of the difference in their panoplies. The Vampire looked to be completely unequipped, which was a weakness in powerful monsters. They placed great pride in their strength, which meant that they did not make use of potent magic items. In contrast, she was kitted out in the relics of the Six Gods, so he could conclude that she was more powerful. However, what if both sides were outfitted in items of similar power? Impossible. panoply, they should be able to deal with it. There was no way there could be more than one such powerful undead being. As he sank into thought, he heard the sound of giggling. Then, he frowned and looked towards its source."
Mamonga is neither a good nor a bad person. He does everything for the happiness of the guards of Nazarick. And if he has to destroy an entire kingdom for this, he will do it without a drop of doubt. Just be sure that you are not the one who trying to harm at least one guard.
It's not a lie, it's just incorrect. The guy thinks that Shalltear is weaker because he is biased and has trouble imagining someone being stronger than the 2 toned hair girl. Not sure I'd call Shalltear a raid boss either, in theory any player could have taken the same build as her as NPCs are built using the same rules as Players. She's just a very well built character that is effectively a top tier player, but still weaker than Touch Me at the very least, and possibly even a handful of other guild members.
@@WolforNuva I'd agree, but ironically comparing her to a player based on her build would make her stronger than a raid boss imo, as players beat raid bosses. Sure there's the counter argument of "raid bosses take multiple players to beat", if you've ever played an MMO for the PVP, one player can take on multiple other players at the same time solo. I've done it myself on SWTOR as a tank and dps, and sure it's situational, but in the case of a player based build of a character being a raid boss, it would be the same condition. If you're in a party built to counter that build, you'll win player or ai, where as if you're not prepared to face that build... Well prepare to taste dirt.
Not really a spoiler. I think it was said in the novel that the captain lied to her on purpose, because he didn't want for her to get killed by chasing Shalltear. It was just left out of the anime.@@jurebulat2083
@@ZyphisVNot sure I'd agree. A player can always be taken down by a lone other player with the right build and skill, but in my experience an end game raid boss isn't so easy to counter single handily. Just because a player can fight against multiple other players doesn't make them equal or superior, if anything it shows that you need an above average player to take on many players, something an average raid boss can do. If you compare raid bosses of equal tier to the players, the raid boss comes out on top in most cases. Plus Ainz Ooal Gown has something closer to a proper raid boss in Rubedo (not sure if she counts as one since we know very little of her), but she is undoubtedly stronger than Shalltear.
"I am conflicted. Are we rooting for the bad guys?" It is going to be interesting to see if your thoughts about that topic change in certain scenes in the future :D Lets just say its always fun to see people go through the rollercoaster of this specific topic in overlord and you can imagine why already by now. You can clearly sense something good in him and his motives are in the right place but he already did some fucked up shit no "good guy" would do. Also he is an undead and the leader of some really sadistic people :D Overlords charcters share a lot of similarities with the dungeons and dragons system and in there every character has a karma rating from -500 to +500 (-500 being pure evil, 0 neutral and +500 pure good). From how some of those guardians look and how for example nabe or albedo talk about humans you can assume that they tend to be rather negative. The character Ainz had in the game was at -500 which is the most evil you could be. This is also why we see these conflicts with him in season 1. He still has his rational mind of the human player behind it but now he actually is his character and his stats where purely evil. There ware some really good examples of this in season 1. Where he killed people and acknowledged that it was wrong but that he did not feel anything killing them and that he does not care about their lifes. So it is somewhat a conflict inside him between his human self and his character

the crazy girl is doubtful stronger than shaltear. first of all, she was very underprepare when fighting against the group the mindcontrol her. no suit of armor, no household summons, no split to 2 like the fight with momonga.
👀
Considering there is never actually straight out confirmation (while the light novel does)... Did you pay attention to the fact that they sad the Rubik's cube was a toy that was brought as a "gift" from the "six GODS" 600 years ago? Hinting at the fact that there were PLAYERS here 600 years ago...
Maybe I am interpreting this wrong but rubik cubes didn't exist so long ago
Yeah one needs to read the novels to understand everything.
@@Ragdefender Thank you for the explanation. That's very interesting.
For a fox it is of course "WA-PA-PA-PA-PA-PA-POW!"
Oh damn didn't expect such a detailed explanation! Appreciate it!

Now, take a wild guess of the identities of those gods.

Ah thank you for the clear up 💯
I always forget that little bit of info whenever I watch overlord. Such a tiny throwaway seeming line, but it’s actually a little important

Going thru some things… (NO SPOILERS)
0:55 - rubix cubes were brought to this world by the six great gods. They weren’t an item in this new world…. Ig that can only mean one thing about the great gods 600 years ago. (They were players)
4:56 - they’re not talking about that rubrics cube girl. They’re talking about one of her comrades named evileye who u will meet.
6:00 - this fight took place when shalltear was in a mind controlled state and wasn’t shown in the anime for some bizarre reason 🤦🏽♂️. PDL (the dragon) came across shalltear and lost.
8:00 - the woman basically gave an important ring to “the youngster” gazef stronaff
10:49 - the power differences are a little confusing rn. This is due to us just being introduced to so many new faces. PDL, the old woman and zesshi don’t have a lot of screen time this season which is unfortunate.
16:49 - this is actually a very powerful scene. It’s shows … loyalty ig :/. Good scene overall tho, too bad ainz ended it early though…
32:28 - he only does nice things and helps those who can benefit nazerik.l as he only cares about his creations and the tomb he built with his friends.
U will see this a lot more in this season.
This season brings in a bunch of new characters and we see more of nazerik and more of its inhabitants. It’s not just floor guardians that call this place home.
It wasnt shown because it was an anime only scene
13:00 nazarick is a tomb so all the levels are underground the sky you saw in the amphitheater in ep 1 and 2 was deep underground
For good and evil, Luke can play a game and try to figure out if they are
1). Lawful
2). Neutral
3). Chaotic
in addition to good, neutral, and evil....you'd get combos like lawful good, chaotic good, lawful evil, etc....much like what we see in FGO
5:58 this fight occurred in-between when the black scripture withdrew and when Shaltear fought Ainz,
11:05 Mostly correct they were 2 separate scenes representing 2 separate New World factions, the first one with the girl with Rubix Cube represented the Black scripture of the Slain Theocracy.
20:10 she says woof because she’s a Dog there is no other reason
pestonya is like at least lv70, she is one of the few dedicated healer builds in all of nazarick and able to cast super tier magic (ergo min lv70)
also she is supposed to have a speech tick where says "woof" at the end of all her sentences, like a proper anime chara would or ya know a vtuber saying "peko" at the end,.... but she keeps forgetting to do it... so goes "eehr uuh.. woof" etc...
also pestonya confirmed for bestest girl.
literally.
@@GunRunner106 thanks for the clarification on Pestonya
wah!...🐕🦺🐩🐶@@GunRunner106
If you think about it, Shalltear was wearing her casual clothes when she got mind controlled.
But for "whatever reason" she was in armor when Ainz-Sama appeared.
Logically something must have happened to make her wear it.
Unfortunately, contrary to the LN, the anime shows Shalltear in her normal attire when Ainz meets her with Albedo, so anime-onlys can't make that deduction.
I didn't notice it at first. The old lady talking to the dragon is voiced by Masako Nozawa, who also voices Goku from Dragon Ball Z.
Glad you picked up second season straight of the bat. Each season is quite unique in its own right. I'm sure you will enjoy it
Fun fact with no spoilers: The dog maid indeed says woof with delay because she forgets about it, since the woof itself is something her creator added to be like that.
And Floors of Nazaric are each in different dimensions, thats why the entrance seems small compared to floors.
Those innocent hummans were going to die by shalters hand if they accompanied him and there deaths would heal her, not to mention the problems with them knoing he is undead or a magic caster.
explanation for the first 3 scenes at begin of the ep:
the intro of the ep shows a bunch of different scenes from different kingdoms.
first scene with crazy girl and the knight dud is taking place in the slane theocrazy, dud is the leader of the black scripture, he was reporting to his leader at the end of ep13, crazy girl is part of the black scripture, but hadnt gone with em last time, due to reasons (she probably just didnt felt like it...)
the leader thinks crazy girl is stronger.
Goddamn, I never watched someone react to Overlord so I wasn't expecting to know so much new information from reading these comments, even after being an avid fan of Overload since season 1 😂 I feel like Luke right now
yep, you learn a ton from watching Overlord's reactions because the community is passionate and so much info is unclear in or left out of the show
yup, the more info you get the more you amaze in this story.
It's constantly learning detailed worldbuilding from the comments that made me buy and read the LN. It's so good.
He's introduced in the show just like how he is in the light novel, and it isnt canon
@@-Apoptos- what is not canon?
@@uriel-i1w ple ple Pleiades
Remember that ains is the protagonist, but also the villain
Ainz is the protagonist and hero of Nazarik and its denizens. Ainz and Nazarik's denezens are working their way to becoming the villains of the New World.
That fight with shalter happened after the flash back with the black scripture and before Ainz killed her. The girl the dragon and the old lady was talking about is a member of the blue rose (adamantite adventures in the kingdom), not the lady with black and white hair.
SPOILER (READ AT OWN PERIL):
I'm pretty sure the person she beat down to force into adventuring was Evileye.
@@zmortis111 I was trying to limit yhe potential spoiler by not spilling everything...
@chardhrosreaper2307 thank you I will correct leader to member
I mean from what we’ve seen so far Ains is just doing what he can to keep the creations of his precious friends safe. That’s all he seems to care about so he’ll do both good and bad to make sure that happens
30:30 that is his brother he says sister as in sister inlaw
you have to think about it that way : it was a guild of 42 players with tons of area for roleplay and stuff like that, so of course they created a LOT of random NPCs beside the floor guardian, wether it's crafter npcs or just npcs to serve as decoration .
(as who is stronger as who)
Because what they saw so far they think...
But never have they realy tested there strength against ainz.
Clementine was also convinced that she would destroy momonga.
Nigul started with disbelieve about ainz his words and fought.
the dragon and old lady were talking about Evil Eye, you'll meet her soon.
around 8:20 "Am I watching the same anime?"... erm Yes in short some stuff were skipped to make the season finale Ainz-Shaltear fight so it can get confusing here, however from this point on it will be less of Ainz and more of worldbuilding sooo strap in.
10:00 ish soo Gazeff Stronoff is the strongest in the kingdom but, there is a kaviat, he is the strong... For a human, and he was beaten by Angel Spam because he can handle couple Angels but not dozen, couple dozen etc.
20:20 roundish it is exactly that she forgot the woof it is a trope
they skipped some great stuff from the books for pacing issues and also whole arcs, which they just end up mentioning them for book readers; this is their way of saying "we are going to skip that part, but it happened"
11:42 they didn't want to show the strong warriors at the 1st seasons they want to SLOWLY Build up the power base of the New World compared to Nazarick
Finally catching up after seeing all your reaction on overlord!! I enjoy it sooo much. Hope to see more episode reaction on overlord!!!
Lady Bukabukachama is Aura and Mare's creator, the 'watch' was the item she created for Ains as a 'reminder' timer, he gave it to Aura as a reward for her work last season and for working on building the decoy Nazarick
One of things you don't realize in the first season...
Just because they're the bad guys, doesn't mean they're bad guys... to everyone
“i wanna see this dude fight”
bros up for a treat… WITHOUT EVEN KNOWING
Luke.... Every time Ainz is about to do something you say he should do.... That is when the green emotion Suppression hits. 🫣
The Imp 18:45 "You want to buy some death sticks"
They weren't just on an adventurer team, they were both members of the 13 heroes that defeated the "Evil Gods" 200 years prior to this time.
20:06 Pestonya sometimes forget to woof at the end of her words😂
This world is super huge but I hope it could be even larger😫I wonder what lies further east.
A little expansion on "Crazy girl" (hasn't been mentioned in the anime even in season 4 so I don't think they'll mention it so not sure if it counts as a spoiler?)
The person you call crazy girl isn't actually stronger than Shalltear. it gets expanded on in a chapter in the light novels but basically the person talking to her told her that so she wouldn't go and test her strength against Shalltear. he didn't actually know if she was stronger than Shalltear.
isnt zeshi only lvl 80-90?

Giving Aura an alarm with the voice of her beloved mother was kinda nice...
Spiilers:
Time possibly runs differently in each world and/or players were sent at/to different and/or multiple times.
Players from Earth have clearly arrived hundreds of years in New World’s history, but players haven’t existed for hundreds of years. Our world time might be 2 years between major updates, but players seem to have arrived every 200 years or so.
600 years ago. six gods, all is player
400 years ago. eight greed kings, all player
200 years ago. 13 heroes, 2 or 3 is player rigrit and that dragon is one of the member of 13 heroes
now is momonga(ainz)
Luke, what the Black Scripture missed was they fought Shalltear without her gear. Meaning the fully geared Zesshi / Antilene was only as strong as an unequipped Shalltear.
Also that Ring adds +5 warrior levels to the user, and ignores the level cap.
Nice episode and reaction
20:40 Luke trying to understand the appearance of so many new characters 😅
30:24 Not blood related ...more like the same species
That flouting white knight with the many weapons was the player that beet Shalteer and used the World Item on her that ended in a semi failed brainwashing. NOTE: Not all players arrived at the same time, some where around much earlier.
The girl holding a Rubik's Cube mentioned the Six Great Gods, a group of players worshipped by the Slane Theocracy. These Six Gods were the first batch of players to arrive in the new world.
The Dragon is called Platinum Dragon Lord. He isn't a player, but he knows about the existence of players because he is responsible for killing players who arrived in the new world before Ainz.
wasnt there a group that arrived even earlier and spread yggdrasil magic in that world?... think they were called the 8? kings of greed or something
been some years since i last read the lightnovel :D
@@nika-pz5up You are thinking of the Eight Greed Kings. They came 500 years ago and managed to actually take over the entire continent.
bro come on, no need to explain PDL i so much detail :v
I would delete the stuff abiut PDL. let Luke explore with that Bcs there is more info about him in s4. Try not to go into too much detail about it
so, a dragon that must have been in a fight with shalltear at some point, a friend he knows for 2 centuries or more, and people popping up from yggdrasyl. perhaps, every now and then people appear here? and maybe the guy played when ainz guild was active before coming here?
Bukubukuchagama is indeed the player who created the dark elf twins, and she's also Perolonchino's sister.
Her avatar in the game was a slime and she was so optimized for tanking that it was EXTREMELY difficult even for multiple players to kill her.
She isnt that hyped up
I remember watching the entire thing from S1 to the latest season. granted i read the novel until about volume 13 (i stopped because i lost where i was at lmao) but based on what was on the novels to anime its
S1 - vol1-3
S2 Vol 4-6
S3 Vol 7-9 (best season so far also, Baa baa)
S4 Vol 10-12
Finally Renner princess is here, both her and Shalltear my fav characters.
And say goodbye for Ainz for like almost 3 whole episodes.
@@WolforNuva hence why i said that i could make mistakes and that i didnt knew the full lore
@@Londinium09which is why I was filling in some of those gaps for you. Sorry if I came off like I was nagging you for getting something wrong.
In Overlord there is no good or bad people. There are only different shades of evil with an occasional act of self-serving benevolence sprinkled in for good measure.
Except for Gazef.
@@hebercluff1665 Yeah there are two kinds of people in the world of Overlord: Those who play the game and those who [redacted] 😢
Dude just to focus and forget the rubik cube wasn't a thing in this another world😂
if you go close you MAY be able to see, since there are ilusions making look like a normal hill. Also, lets supose you will get close enought before being murdered by inv units.
33:15 oh no, this is how it starts 👀 and then you het the slowly realization of what is actually happening
"The girl finally raised her head to look straight at him. Her mismatched eyes seemed to sparkle with what seemed like curiosity, delight, and battle-lust.
“Who do you think is stronger, between myself and that Vampire?”
He had expected that question, and met it with a prepared answer.
“You, of course.”
“Really…”
The girl looked back at her toy, as though she had lost interest in the topic.
Within his heart, he breathed a sigh of relief.
“What a shame. I was thinking I might be able to taste defeat.”
As he heard her mutter to herself, he wondered, Who would win, if they fought?
He had exchanged blows with both the girl and the Vampire, and he felt that the Vampire was superior. However, that Vampire would not be able to defeat “Certain Death.”
That was because of the difference in their panoplies.
Yeah Ainz is the villain in this story. He's gonna slaughter some innocent lizard people.
I guess you forgot something mentioned in Season 1. They mentioned this lizard village then and why it was important, though it was brief.
Mamonga is neither a good nor a bad person. He does everything for the happiness of the guards of Nazarick. And if he has to destroy an entire kingdom for this, he will do it without a drop of doubt. Just be sure that you are not the one who trying to harm at least one guard.
Oh second season. You may want to do double episode videos for lizard arc.
24:04 the bartender is a mushroom man to be pacific “Hydnellum peckii” the devil’s tooth
1:42 lies, that 2 toned haired girl is only in the upper 80s when it comes to levels. Shalltear however is a level 100 raid boss
Big spoiler but whatever
Are we rooting for the bad guys?"
It is going to be interesting to see if your thoughts about that topic change in certain scenes in the future :D
Lets just say its always fun to see people go through the rollercoaster of this specific topic in overlord and you can imagine why already by now.
You can clearly sense something good in him and his motives are in the right place but he already did some fucked up shit no "good guy" would do. Also he is an undead and the leader of some really sadistic people :D
Overlords charcters share a lot of similarities with the dungeons and dragons system and in there every character has a karma rating from -500 to +500 (-500 being pure evil, 0 neutral and +500 pure good).
Small talk between random Nazarick soldiers:
"Are we the baddies?
- Yes, most definitely."
