Paganini's 24th Caprice (New Variations).

- Essentially, I've composed my own variations for Paganini's 24th Caprice based on the template of the classical guitar adaptation. Also, take *note: I'm using a BOSS GP-10 on my telecaster to produce the nylon string sounds. (The Roland V-guitar stuff is really great.)
Assuming the video gets enough plays, etc. I'd be more than happy to do an in-depth analysis of the piece with examples from both the original as well as those I've composed here. (In fact, I'm looking forward to it.)

Lovely playing.
it's criminal you don't have more subs- this is next level stuff.

Wow! Killer performance! No more words.
These are my own variations based off of the originals, FYI.
Likewise, if any classical players would like to work on adapting these, I'd be really into that.
Fantastic!
Absolutely gorgeous hearing you.
Beautiful, Unique, and Absolutely Incredible! Wow!
Tory- I pre- judged a little and thought this was a bit adventurous. - This variation I will always compare anyone to the great Su Meng who played this on classical as a young girl with an audience , and blew everybody away! However, Tory you played many interesting licks/chops, and I look forward to hearing this again- Well done! (Tho more practice with the harmonics) I’m glad I found you in here!
This is my favorite Tory clip, in this musical reality it seems to me that the entire guitar top is a slave to some poor convention
Blows me away. Classical techniques with tapping. Pianists will appreciate this. Love this
Very Beautiful. I like the harpsichord Midi feed, seems like you blend the natural timbre of the guitar with the Harpsichord! Genius! Show us more. I really like the neck pickup tones. Your Midi pickup is so close to your bridge. Have you experimented with moving the midi pickup to different positions?
It's actually not MIDI. It takes the sound of the string and transforms it into an acoustic kind of sound...
Love. You Tory ❤
So glad to have found this. You are so Paganiniesque.....Niccolo is smiling
Thank you for putting variations in this piece. I don't know if I would have enjoyed it as much without it. I do love your style and especially your jazz and you seem to even make classical tolerable for people like me. But I must say, Wagner is my favorite that I enjoy most in that genre.
Yeah, because I'm a composer and don't really play the repertoire I thought it better to just write my own variations
Wow! How Baroque sounding. Très cool!
My favorite guitar players so far-dozens of great artists and on top of my personal list:Leo Kottke,my forever NO 1 guy.
And now this.A bunch of fantastic new guitarists,Plini,JakubŻytecki,David Micic. And this fantastic lady.I'm speechless.
Oh My God.. My Father Would Have Flipped Over This One Ms Tory (He was a Jazz Guitarist and Also of Course Being a Fernandes He Played Flamenco and Classical Pieces) Oh God Angel You are Just From Another Musical Universe Then Us Mere Mortal Musicians.. I Absolutely Love This One and You Ms Tory You are Just Absolue Awesomeness 🔥🔥🔥🔥💝💝💝💝💯💯
Thanks, I was really just interested in writing my own variations. The general narrative at the time was kind of that... This level of musicianship was unattainable for the Jazz Kin like myself... I was loling at such a notion the entire time.
@@TorySlusher You are Evaaa Evaaa SoSo Very Welcome ☺☺ I Understand Ms Tory... But I Just Feel You are Completely on a Musical Level All Your Own.. You are Absolutely Phenomenal ☺☺😘😘😎👊💯💯🔥🔥🔥🔥💘💘
Amazing Tone Tory!
Really nice. So clean and no string damper.
You don't really need one for clean electric or acoustic... Imo, I only really use it for overdrive or distortion lead
Fucking crazy 😳😳😳
Superb performance!
I've been following some of your recent videos, and just came across this in the archives. Wow! ❤
The way you can do all this in one take without messing up shows you are on another level. Always a pleasure to watch you blow our minds.
Funny story, I actually had a sheet of paper taped up in front of me that had a list of all the different variations.... 😆. Like, do the double note thing, now do the Mozart one, etc
@@TorySlusher hell yeah !!! You are one of my fav UA-camrs!!
Your playing is “enchanting “ and I dig the boots 😊
wonderful technique, endlessly thoughtful and interesting.
Thanks. ... With these types of pieces I'm not really trying to compete with the traditional classical approach, it's more of a fusion based stylistic departure or something. I actually occasionally lift certain ideas or techniques from classical players LOL, but the repertoire is not really something I'm interested in developing per se...
With that being said, at some point I might actually decide to write some legit classical guitar works, kind of like when Chick Corea wrote that piano concerto etc
Increïble musicalitat.enhorabona !!
That was super good! It was very similar but you did your own things with each chord. Great job!
Your amazing. I’d love to book a concert tour for you in Texas. This would include a couple of music school and/or guitar shop appearances along with evening concerts. You have to become known for your wonderful musical abilities and insights you have.
Geez, thanks
Thanks for yet another incredible gem, you tore it up with that beautiful clear tele style tone, as usual! ❤️🎵🎶👏👏👏
Absolutely Stunning
More than mastering this piece!... you are so creative!... 👏❤
Breathtaking. Thanks for uploading it!
It's nice to see someone with real talent for a change. Subscribed
thnx, awesome channel name too, btw
This was a very popular peice for shredders back in the mid 80's.
That Tele is singin, by the way, sounds awesome. Seems like you're getting more comfortable with that skinny neck, that's always been my lone complaint about those things.
The neck on this one is bigger than the one on my new placid blue tele....it is contoured, along with the body, like one of the modern player models ie. Slim neck, smaller body and bevel contours.
this is beautyfull again..
Outstanding!!!
Ok you win this time, tory slusher ! Subscribed !
Great. Just GREAT...
I’ve been playing sans-pick a lot recently because of your videos. It’s been so much fun, and I’m getting so much better at it all the time! Thanks for doing stuff like this. It opens my mind to new ways of playing and thinking about the guitar.
I’m still a ways off from being as fluent with the guitar as you are, but your videos inspire me to take my playing to another level. Thanks for that!
Keep on keepin on!
I just find that I come up with so many better ideas, in my experience, playing with a pick tends to result in rehashing a lot of the same movements or ideas, licks etc. And it kind of feels detached from the instrument
@@TorySlusher I totally agree! I feel much more connected to the instrument when I play with my fingers. I feel like I can get more nuanced voicing too. I still play with a pick too, but learning finger picking and thumping has been extremely rewarding!
Holy shit that was amazing 🤩
WOW.
Man. Astonishing ! The tone is amazing too. Is it the piezo pickup ?
No. V guitar
Amazing in a lot of ways
Ok Tory, I’ve seen a few of your Jazz and Fusion videos. Really great stuff, very interesting, intelligent, unique and innovative. On this one you totally freaked me out! What planet are you from? 🤔
To me it's all the same stuff. Probably to these virtuoso players back in that time period, they were basically seeing themselves like gigging jazzers or something... For instance, it was common at one time for performers to kind of do their own cadenzas and whatnot.... Not to mention the fact that a lot of the great players were composers themselves, which is basically a form of slow improvisation.
Right… the great composers could improvise. However instrumentalists such as Classical Violinists rarely if ever improvise or compose their own cadenzas. There are a very few exceptions.
Superb! What you do is so exceptional. You'd be a great lute player.
sounds like a really full nylon string love the tone !
This patch is a lot of fun but I don't use it too much, it's more of a tone color thing, like when you do an arrangement for an album and you just want a different type of instrument or something, not your usual tones
So many cool techniques used so creatively. I love it! Thank you. The Mozart Jig!? Woohoo!
very grace !!!!
Incredible
And the best
Wanted to tell you how much I’m enjoying your playing. Great work
The playing is absolutely fantastic, and I'm amazed at the nylon string sound you're getting on the Tele. I used to use a Roland VG-88 (circa 2000 or so) and....let's just say that modeling technology has come a long way since then.
😊👍. OMG, hasn't it though? I didn't even know this thing existed until I randomly found it one day while trying to look for piezo systems. It solves a bunch of musical problems and issues for me, definitely. Also, it's amazing what a $300 pickup will do, you know? Haha
Some of the stuff you decide to play reminds me of Koichi Sugiyama's work. Check out Amphibian's Land from the E.V.O. OST. That one is really fun. But Dragon Warrior stuff is what he's mostly known for--besides denying Japanese war crimes. That and pop music for T.V.
To the victor go the spoils, I guess
Truly astounding stuff Tory!
I swear you are some sort of savant.
(not to negate at all the sheer amount of solid effort and work that you put into these!)
Thanks, as always. Actually, writing it didn't take too long, what was hard was actually learning to play it cleanly. LOL
Bravo......Bravissimo!
Well. Excellent job, both creating the variations, and the execution.
Thank you very much!
Wow! I loved your variations. I hope I can play guitar like you sometime.
Dziękujemy.
😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Such an interesting take...
delightful
Sei bravissima 😮
LOVE IT
Wonderful!

🇩🇪Großartig! 🎉❤
Pretty interesting.
❤😮😊
Very fast arpeggios ™️
Even better at 2x speed :)
🤔🥴😆
So Nice! did you teach yourself the tapping technique?
Pretty much, more or less
How do I apply for the adaptation exercises?
.. and do I have enough hours in the day, all good quest-love-tions.
What are those cables and weird pickup things near the bridge of your guitar? Are they special super sensitive pickups?
Gk3 pickup
One question: how’s your string action on your instrument? “Standard”, or “very low-better for tapping”?
Honestly, probably somewhere in between the two. Perhaps a bit on the lower side of that scale. It's not so incredibly low that they're laying on the strings though, I do a lot of finger style playing and you simply can't really do that if it's too incredibly low. When I'm basically looking for is a equal volume balance between finger plucking and tapping the string. That way you can go back and forth between the two and the amount of force you're putting into is basically the same and you're getting the same volume out in the end.
@@TorySlusher would you suggest some kind of exercise for right hand (specifically for tapping with four fingers)? Your right hand positioning reminds me a lot of Stanley Jordan’s.
By the way, thanks for your reply!
you are very funny too..
😲🎸👏🏻😘
Their is nothing to say !
marry me
Good thing you're not my wife...I'd throw away both my guitars...You're beautiful everywhere..With that feeling you play...you're every man's dream 🙂
pfff Tory... stop it....😵 Do you know anyone else who can play like that? I don't think so...
lol its nothing like violin performance, not even close.
in this particular case guitar is fret-cheating and overall just poor in how it sounds compare to mesmerising and fluent, beautiful sound of a violin.
🤣... Are we not allowed to play other instruments now?
There was absolutely no offense intended@@TorySlusher
