@@JP-ks7ey that’s what you’re missing she didn’t want to be seen by the whole world she wanted her mother to see her for who she is as a person which is a lesbian and in the storyline in this particular part of the storyline Erica was being selfish because she wasn’t thinking of how Bianka felt she was only thinking about herself
I remember watching this like it was yesterday. The bravery of Bianca to come out to her mother Erica Kane, must've took major guts! Susan and Eden are such great actresses! ❤
Agnes Nixon entrusted this story, perhaps her most important, in the hands of Erica Kane and Susan Lucci. She knew what she was doing. She knew it was in good hands.
Really glad that this memorable scene between Erica and Bianca is on YT 'cause I missed it when it aired, so thanks alot! Besides, Bianca admitting she's gay to her mother is one of the highlights of AMC during its run. Bianca Coming Out was a golden moment and a precious treasure which should be kept forever. Thanks!
I watched it when it aired. Bianca and I were both 16 in 2000 when this happened. Had it not been for Eden Riegel and Bianca Montgomery I probably wouldn’t be here today. Eden’s Bianca gave me the courage and the strength to come out and to face the challenges that brought ahead for years: my dads unable to accept it, the kids at school bullying me and tormenting me for it.
This moment happened for me in 1995.I was 16 also. Erica reminds me of my mom's reaction. I was more direct when I told her though. I was so scared, even for being a tough teen. Bianca is saying some of my exact words. My respect to Eden Riegel, she speaks for all gay teens then, now, and in the future! Shes not just an icon, shes a legend!

Oh, and I do remember this aired right before Christmas. The cliffhanger with Bianca saying she is gay then we had to wait till after the holidays to see the rest. It was so agonizing. That doesn't happen with soaps anymore.
I still cannot believe they had the guts not to just make a LEGACY character gay, BUT ERICA KANE'S DAUGHTER. It was just so wonderful and brilliant and I still apploud it.
Agnes Nixon wanted it to do this storyline for so long. But she knew this storyline had to mean something and have hold, and to make Erica's beloved favorite daughter gay was a very big deal.
Watching this on TV around Christmastime when I was a young child was a huge memory for me.. I remember asking my grandma what gay meant and secretly knowing I would turn out like this. We are truly born this way
This is my first time watching all of these scenes. Brilliantly and realistically acted, written, and directed! Thank you for uploading all of these scenes of Bianca's coming out and the aftermath!
"i know what i feel and what i don't feel for boys" "how could you? you haven't even dated yet!" I HATE that excuse. you date someone because you FEEL something for them! you date someone or like someone because THEY TURN YOU ON! it's really that simple.
I watched AMC for years and yes, in 2000 this was an important storyline made even more important because it was Erica Kane’s daughter. I would LOVE to think that now, in 2024, Erica’s response would be something like “Love is so hard to find in this world. I will love you, and fight for you, no matter WHO you love.”
Ground breaking moment. Bianca's coming out shook the nation. 4 years later the fight for lgbt right started making progress , the first state legalized marriage for same sex couples as Bianca's story began to progress with the first kiss and love scene on daytime. Agnes Nixon a special thanks to you , you moved this forward , You were ahead of the time.
I didn't mind Bianca being gay, but they kept repreating the same scenario of having her fall in love with STRAIGHT women, and successfully turning them Bisexual. I found that to be incredibly insulting. One time, OK, but they did this several times throughout the show. I remember one character actually telling her to her face that she was straight, and not into women, but the writers STILL had them ending up together.
I like how this is a soap opera and is supposed to be all over the top and melodramatic and yet my mom said all of these things to me when I came out to her, almost word for word.
she eventually comes to accept bianca for who she is as a person, even becoming an advocate for gay rights, but as far as being a shallow self righteous narcissist, those words define erica kane to a T, she will never change
Susan Lucci should have 3 Lead Actress Emmys on her mantle. 1 for the 1st time she won her Emmy during Bianca's eating disorder intervention, THIS scene right here when Bianca told her she was gay, and the 3rd when Bianca told her she was raped.

It was okay for Bianca tell her mother she's lesbian but they didn't need to make a storyline of it. Keep soaps normal and not perverted.
A Cherished Gem perverted? You sound like a bigot
Michelle Hancock not bigot, boo. Just calling it for what it is. Perverted, unnatural, abnormal, strange flesh. Just telling the truth. 🙄 You must be one of them. 🧐
A Cherished Gem lol you poor baby. Go find a safe place to cry
Michelle Hancock Awww boo boo I am not crying. I am rejoicing. God is so good to me. 🤗🤗 🙏🏽👏🏽💯. Have a good day 😗
A Cherished Gem you actually put God in this conversation when you have been rude to two people? Wow ok
