PopSkull presents Nick Jr./Fresh Beat Band "Just like a Rock Star" promo.
We came across this promo this week and can't believe it's been over a year since Adam Schlesinger died of Covid, only 52 years young. Adam was best known for his various indie bands, including Fountains of Wayne, and his film work, including Tom Hank's "That Thing You Do" and TV shows, most notably "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend." But Adam wrote a lot of great pop music, including songs for Sesame Street and "Just Like a Rock Star" for the Fresh Beat Band.
A key part of the live-show - the moment a fan got to come out on stage with the Fresh Beat Band wearing a a rock star jacket - "Just Like a Rock Star" is one of the most popular Fresh Beat Band songs for kids to dance to - and parents to record them. We were sent loads of videos of kids dancing to Adam's infectious tune, rocking out just like little rocks stars.
When found this promo we thought we should put it up so more fans know of Adam's contribution to their childhood joy.
