interesting thing to note about this game that i found out at my local arcade is that this game exhibits "Cram dots" when fading to the next screen. This was a graphical artifact that was commonly present on the sega master system and megadrive consoles caused by writing to CRAM while the VDP is reading from it. Most systems do not exhibit this bug, so it would be interesting to find out more info about the vdp used in this game!
So happy you got this back and it is such a classic game. I’m so happy you’ve got a vid back too and hopefully see more coming back into the collection. Fantastic video bro and so happy for ya
Mate it’s absolutely awesome to see this cab fully working again, I knew you would fix it bro I won’t lie I do miss the cab a lot it was that one item that always made me smile with pure nostalgia But I’m so happy to to see it back at its first home and seeing your passion for Cabs return mate🧟♂️
Cheers Scott! Thanks again for selling it back to me! I’m so pleased I was able to get it working again. I was genuinely nervous that if I couldn’t get it repaired easily then I could be stuck with a broken cab too! Thankfully it wasn’t that bad and it’s back in top form. Definitely pleased to get a cab or two back in the room! I was missing a bit of variety in the room 👍🏼
Really nice to see the cab back in the room Dave even better as it’s your original, great work with yourself and your brother getting it working again .. Golden Axe was at our local swimming pool. Must off been great for a Friday swimming and operation wolf afterwards . See what you mean on stage 2 proper nuts think well done
Cheers Adam! Really cool to have my OG cab back! I haven’t seen it since 2018 so was cool to see it again for the first time and bring it back home. My brother, myself and a mate got it going between us very quickly which was awesome! I’m pleased it wasn’t something more worrying such as a game board fault. Yeah! Knowing I was going to play this after swimming (which I hated) is what kept me going 😅
@@caprilaser3 we all go in circles buddy. I look back on the megadrive collection I had and want a few of them Back but the collector bug seems to (thankfully) has left me. Until the next time lol
Nice to have it back. It's a great cab, really iconic style to the design and the game is great too. Good work on the repair too. 👍 Didn't know Scott was looking to move this on, but I know he's mentioned before he's after other things and has a lot on at the moment.
Cheers Craig! It is nice to have my first ever arcade cab back! Im pleased it wasn’t too much trouble fixing it either. It was nice of Scott to let it go and he knows that it would be offered back to him for first refusal if I move it on again 😇👍🏼
Great to see you back with an Arcade cab Dave! I used to love watching your regular arcade cab pickup videos! Sounds like you guys did a great job restoring it and getting it back working again. The cab looks fantastic and sure looks great to play with fab noise and recoil! Good to see you enjoying it again.
Cheers Russ! Yeah I know, I’m back in the fold! 😅 Really excited to have a cab (or two😜) back in the room! Nice bit of variety will be nice to mix it up a bit. I love the artwork on the cab. Seeing the side of it is very nostalgic to me.
That's crazy and awesome that not only is Operation Wolf back, it's your own original Op Wolf cab. Love it. It's so great that these games have their stories to tell like this. Wicked video Dave and great gameplay, take care!
Cheers mate! Yeah it’s awesome to have my original first cab back! I’ve learned a lot since selling it and felt much more confident working on it now. There is a really solid gameplay video coming soon! Infact it was my best ever play through!
Cheers Lee! I’m pleased we got it back up and running too. I won’t lie, I was a little nervous about buying it back broken because if I couldn’t fix it, it would be a big paper weight!
Great to see you got your first cab back! I only remember seeing this once at The American Adventure theme park which used to be local to me. I also played it a lot on my Sega Master System! Nice to hear where you originally played it. My swimming baths had a Jamma cab which had Joe & Mac Caveman Ninja which had me mesmerized. Anyway, hope you carry on enjoying the cab.
Cheers Tom! Yeah it’s nice to have my original first cab back to be honest. I’ve been enjoying working on it and playing it again. The MS version was brilliant! Much better than the NES version. Nice memory of Joe & Mac!
Wonderful news! i guess it shows to own these machines you really need to be able to service them yourself or be in the position to have people around you that can help
Cheers Stu. Yeah you need to be fairly well versed in using a multimeter and soldering iron to be fair, and it really helps having a mate local that repairs the stuff I can’t too!
I'm happy you were able to restore it Dave. I was at Scott's house when one of his mates went to take a look at it. It's a beast of a cab. I think it's better suited in your man cave than Scott's kitchen 😂. It's an awesome arcade machine I must admit. Not one I've played much. My introduction to Operation Wolf was on the Master System. Take care mate, hope you're doing well 👍
Cheers Rob! Im doing good thanks mate. I hope you are too. I’m pleased we were able to get it going again. It is a monster and I swore I would never lift an Op Wolf cab again. It’s one hell of a lump to move around. The Master System version is very good! Much better than the NES version 👍🏼
Hey Lee No mate, Steve was trying to sort Op Wolf for Scott. I wasn’t in the frame at that point and hadn’t even contacted Scott to enquire about potentially selling it until only very recently 😊👍🏼
Cheers Daz! Yeah it’s difficult in places, although I’ve beat it in 3 credits and aiming to shave at least a credit off that as my next target (new vid coming up!)
What a surprise to see Op Wolf back Dave, I thought you was lost forever to the world of pins lol even more special that it's your original cab too. What a beast though to shift about, I bet they caused a glut of hernias to arcade ops and staff bitd as they shifted them around lol Nice nostalgic trip into your swimming activities, our schools pool was constantly out of action so we visited a local town and used that swimming baths, as I couldn't swim I used to play yie ar kung fu instead lol Nice to hear you sorted out the firing problem quickly and easily too, yours and your brothers tech knowledge paid divvies, a very handy skill to have when owning these 35+ year old boxes of electronics. I'm wondering if there's a channel name change to retro dave video and pinball arcade coming up? I love to see your pinball machines but wondering if your reverting to a 5 cab 3 pin setup with a small console area? that would be a great use of space and give you so many opportunities. Take care 👍
Cheers Craig! I think I’ve learnt never say never! I loved having 6 pins, but I think a bit of variety of cabs and pins is a better mix. We are currently at 4 pins and one cab, but next cab is already on the horizon! And it’s one I’ve never owned before. Op Wolf is a monster cab to move around. I bet there are plenty of sore backs from Ops back in the day! I don’t think there will be another name change mate. People still call me Nintendo Dave so was kinda pointless changing it anyway 😅
Thank you for the demo video a few yrs ago on whatsapp, and first dips on OP,(cudnt fit in my cellar) also the dimensions on the cab, of which am planning to build next spring 👍
Ahh! Hey man, I hope your are keeping well. Yeah I remember that. Funny how it’s come back ‘home’ to me again after a few years. It’s definitely my most nostalgic arcade game. I hope you get your machine built all ok soon. Have you still got your VW Beetle?
@@caprilaser3 hiya Dave! I have pal, still have the 68 bug, tried to use it to work once or twice a month, roads are terrible in birmingham and its too low! Hahahaha, picked up another 1981 honda since for a daily ride to work, your channels doing well buddy, keep up the good work dude! Love operation wolf!

Haha cheers Steve. Unfortunately I don’t think I will be getting those back even if I wanted them again.
