This is the first video I have seen that explains the paint consistency so well! Thank you. It was one thing I wasn’t sure of and it makes such a difference
I would have liked a better shot at seeing the final product & how runny it was. It was hard to see the way with the camera angle. I would have also liked to see what it looked like once used for dots.
Thank you very much for this detailed video, now I understand the consistency Much better. Here in South Africa, the thining agent is named " Acrylic extender" & The Gel Is called "Acrylic Gel medium". I will get right on to mixing my perfect Dot Paint. Cheers Regards from South Africa
Hi I’m very new to this art and I’m really struggling to get the right consistency. I bought my acrylic paint from The Works and a friend told me to buy some flow improver to add to the palette. I notice your also using a white gel Medium. Can you tell me if I should be using this as well. Also i haven’t been adding any water to my flow enhancer should I be? Gosh I m so sorry for so many questions but I’m starting to pull my hair out now and getting more and more upset with inability to get my dots right, and just to some advice and your video seems so helping. I hope you can help me please .
Great video Angie and a really good explanation. Do you have a brand name for the acrylic flow improver you use in the UK please? I looked om Amazon but there were quite a few different ones and I don't want to buy the wrong product if I can help it.
Stephanie Gray I’m in the UK too. The one I bought (from Amazon) is called Airbrush Thinner by Vallejo. I think it’s used for craft models. It works fine.
@@deninahudson1398 thanks for your response, I have found Windsor and Newton Flow Improver from Amazon. Still getting to grips with the best consistency as yet, I probably didn't get the ratio right first time. All part of the learning curve, and I am already hooked on mandala dot art.
Is floetrol comparable to your thinning agent? That’s what was recommended that I use so I ordered it but not sure how to use it. I just want to thin my arteza paints enough to get rid of peaks so I can top dot. ❤️
just watched the video, could you clarify what you use as a thinning agent? Im also in in the UK. is it same as regular paint thinners or specific for acrylic?
Hi Mystiquemama, I just watched a video and her advice was infacol for bubbles. She mixed 1 drop into her paints, stirred it gently and the bubbles disappeared
Aw, I was hoping to see some dots.
Very informative! You go step by step making it easy to follow. I appreciate youvtook to be thorough.
Thank you for the help!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you immensely. Very instructive for a beginner like me. Already ordered the little pots, gloss medium and paint thinner. Can’t wait to start.
Rachel Barker i bought the 5gram ones.

My pleasure, please do share it with others to help them x
Thank you making it visually understandable
Brilliant - fascinating to watch this and see you create the perfect consistency. A perfect blend of science and art!
Gee Thistlewood I'm glad you liked it.

Many thanks for this additional information :)
Hi Angie thank you for sharing your talent with us, what size are your white topped paint pots please 5ml ? Cheers from Cornwall 😘
Hi Marie I’m also from Cornwall and struggling to get perfect dots I’m really new to this. Where did you shop for all your paints extra. I’m Newquay
what "thinning agent" are you using?
I was wondering the same....

Awesome video, thank you for filming it. Just one question, what would be equivalent to "thinning agent" and water be over here in the U.S.? TIA
Many thanks - I think in the USA and UK you can look for acrylic flow improver
You can use flotrol
Can I use floetrol as thinning agent?

Curious to know why the gel medium? Isn't that a contradiction to the thinning agent?

Hi what size are your tiny paint pots please as I would like to order some thank you 😊
I miss these videos.

Hi Annie, yes I heard floetrol works for thinning. So you add a bit, stir, if you find the consistency isn’t right add a bit more until you’re happy.
Those little jars are just perfect! Gonna have to get me some! So how long does the mixed paint last inside the jars?
Might this also work for other applications? E.G nail art.
Unlikely as this is all acrylic paint, not nail varnish
Does the thinner help stop air bubbles?

Acrylic flow improver is what you need :)
Hi. What's the reason for the gel medium?
It helps with the consistency of the paint
Hi, how is that you didn't get air bubbles? I can't do this without having loads of them... :( what's the secret??? Please🤫😊
Hi Mystiquemama, I just watched a video and her advice was infacol for bubbles. She mixed 1 drop into her paints, stirred it gently and the bubbles disappeared
Spray a fine mist of rubbing alcohol to instantly get rid of of bubbles OR use a thumb tacks to popindividual bubbles.
Hi
