I got the GruvGear DuoStrap and it really saved me. It helps distribute the weight of the bass. Even with exercise building my shoulder muscles and regular visit to the chiropractor, I couldn’t play with a single strap anymore (even sitting down!). If it wasn’t for the DuoStrap, I’d be permanently bassless.

Cool stuff. I've always used Levy's but you convinced me to get a Gruv strap.

Thank you so much. I have the Mono. The reason being, at the time, I didn't really punch up bass straps on my search. At the time I picked it our for a regular electric guitar & not for bass. I experimented, I found out it also worked for bass. But I do like the ones on your video as well. Thanks again for a great presentation.

I’ve been using the Mono on my most recent tour and it’s working great 👍🏽

Thanks for sharing your knowledge Ivan. I reckon the design, material and setup of the strap is a really important factor for good playing technique, both from a performance perspective and to avoid injuries. When you find the bass strap that’s suits you, set at the exact height, everything is easier to play. I’m using a Victor Wooten signature bass strap that looks reasonably similar to those ones you tried except it’s all leather. The SBL bass strap looked pretty good too. I hope your tour goes well.

Both the Victor Wooten and the SBL straps are Ergo Straps (or at least they were, not sure if they are different now). I have a couple Ergo Straps and they are great (with another on the way!).

Those look great! I’ve never tried them, but having other options other than leather is quite nice :)

I agree with you about the Comfort Strapp. I had to send mine back and now I have the small one that I'm using on my Dingwall ABZ. It's adjusted at full length but thankfully, fits me well. I have the small size Mono as well which is not as comfortable as the Comfort Strapp, mainly because of the buckle fastenings getting in the way on my left shoulder (similar to the problem you mentioned). Also, I find that the strap is really quite long, considering it's supposed to be 'S' sized.
Previously, I had used a Planet Waves strap, about 7.5cms wide but that was quite difficult to get exactly right. However, I was playing a Lakland at the time and it was a little on the heavy side. The hunt for the 'perfect' strap, continues...

Yeah. I owned an ABZ back in 2013 and also had problems finding a good strap.
I’d recommend trying the GruvGear Neo ones. They’re pretty solid and comfortable.
Alternatively, several guys have recommended the Ergo Straps in the comments, but I’ve never tried one

Right bro. The problem is the manufactures are not bass players or have not a clue of the needs of us bass players.

Have you ever tried full leather straps?

  • @canadianguitar-garrettont7368

I have a GruvGear but at 6'3 i find it a bit short I wish they had a longer one I tend to like to play my bass lower but i like the wide padding

I believe you can order an extension strap from them. gruvgear.com/collections/guitar-straps/products/extra-long-tail-strap-for-neo
