I used washers on the bolt heads that attach the winglets to the splitter. I drilled the right size holes on the splitter, but the cutouts on the winglets were too wide for the bolt head.
Unfortunately I picked a stage 2/3 front splitter from a Corvette Dealer and when I got home I discovered an obvious blemish, divot which was painted over. I took it back and the other two that were in stock also had the molding flaw. I also looked at one installed on a car in the show room and it had the flaw. Poor QC! You get what you pay for. They were marked extreme online store. Probably going for ACS.
Good question. Personal preference mostly. The foam on the mounting tape does fill any gaps nicely and prevents air penetrating between the splitter and the body.

@@darrelnice376 So I get this question quite frequently. I was even talking with someone at Corvettes at Carlisle about it yesterday. In my experience, the fitment of the parts from EOS is just as good as anyone else. I personally had no issues installing that splitter. From a construction perspective, the splitter has held up just as good as any of the other parts, and the carbon flash paint looks as good as it did when it was new. After install, you (and others) don't spend too much time up close and personal with the parts. So even if there is a question on quality, it would be difficult to pick out.
