    I am no longer in coding, switched to a completely different field (EEG). Still love watching your videos, glad to see them again ❤

    Ophthalmology and OBGYN were two of my favorite sections when I took my coding course. Currently studying to take my CPC exam. Thanks for giving a glimpse into your day 😊

    Hi Shamyra, I was a biller for obGYN and then GYN/ Oncology, these procedures all sound so familiar to me! I’m really enjoying ur content! I want to become a certified coder now, I just don’t know what study guides to start with! Would u recommend the study guides from AAPCA or something else! I’d really appreciate ur recommendation! 😊

      Hello! Wow, that’s awesome! It’ll be so much easier to learn when you already have an understanding of the procedures. I’ve only had study guides from the AAPC so I would definitely recommend it. ☺️

    Good Morning! I have a quick question. In one of your videos you start work fairly early in the morning. Do you have a set schedule? Or do you pick your hours you work within the hours available? - Thank you Selina

    I am wondering about the answer to the question above also. What would make it hard to find a job in medical coding?

      I answered her. ☺️

      But to answer your question I guess what would make it hard is either not having the certification or the employer wanting 1-2 years experience when you don’t have any. I wouldn’t let this discourage you because coders are getting hired with no experience. I was one of them.

    Do you have any suggestions for looking for work. I worked at a big hospital in a different department tried to transfer never got called for job. I thought it would be easier to transfer since I was working for 3 yrs. I do have my cpca

    Morning 🩷🩷 is it hard finding a job after getting CPC?

    • @ShamyraC
      @ShamyraC  5 місяців тому +4

      It depends. Some people they find a job right away and some it takes a few months. Most people I think have it easier when they already work within the revenue cycle or in healthcare period. For example I was a data entry clerk working in the coding department prior to getting certified. Once I got certified I just transferred into a coding position. But I’ve also seen people get hired with no coding experience and didn’t work in healthcare all they had was the certification and they got hired and was trained on the job. So it’s hard to say if it’s hard or not because it just depends.
