Suddenly youtube is recommending me the most braindead content Ive ever seen, and the more I click those videos the more alt right content starts to come down the pipeline. The way the youtube algorithm works is like googles. Its not so much about what you, yourself likes, which is what tik tok's algorithm does, its what a baseline like you consumes. So if you consume, for example, videos on ancient roman and 80% of people who also consume that type of content also consume conspiracy and propaganda content, then the alorithm feeds you that. So by watching 1,2 maybe 3 of these videos that this channel in question produces, you start getting videos that his base likes. Sofor example, now im getting anti trans content, and anti gov content, and anti immigrant content, and pro imperialism content, etc. you can test this by going into your youtube settings and erasing your history which will reset your timeline. then come back watch some vtuber content for example and then slowly add a little of this ancient alien stuff in, and then suddenly there will be no more vtuber content and it will just be anti-anti disinformation content, man-o-sphere content, alt right content etc. Even alt right vtuber content. Something to think about, espicially when hosts like this profess the need to think critically.
