B52: I took the video clips and reversed them for several segments. I was trying to piece together many segments to make one long chase. Notice the many instances where reversed images. There are only @ 5 source episodes. I grew up with Five-O and still believe it to be one of the finest "cop dramas" ever. Cast, location, action, story line, you name it. "Five-O" is even modern day slang for the police. Jack Lord rules! Thank you to everyone for your comments on my "work" over the years.
I left Honolulu in 2001 after 31 years there...we used to run across 5-0 filming all the time on my furniture delivery routes...this was fun to watch and reminisce...nice job - and the editing in the shows wasn't any better...lol...you did good...
Nothing like trying to get a two and a half ton LTD to do anything but go in a straight line. Steve's Mercury showed up in a studio warehouse a few years ago. A collector has it now.
I love this! It's like they're running around like idiots and can't catch this guy. McGarrett keeps dropping his radio in the car and changes his suit when he goes inside his office, changing it back to go on the chase again. AWESOME! Liki Liki Highway!
Like anyone would know which car the siren was coming from. It is totally ridiculous, and I never understood why the 5-0 team didn't have flashing lights.
Yeah, you're right about the editing, but I liked it anyway. Some lady and her hubby own that black 4-door Mercury Monterey that McGarrett drove all those years. They nagged CBS until CBS sold it to them. It was wrecked and in BAD shape. It's like new now. 428 V8!
Good stuff, makes me want to record the entire series of 5-0, edit together a one hour car chase as an episode, except I am way to busy to do that at the moment, so it will have to wait until my retirement, great to see all of those lovely old 60's and 70's cars :(
Seeing those old cars in car chases just reminds me of how much horsepower in relation to how little or no handling, stability and traction control they had.
I wrote these lyrics when I watched my favorite show, while I was in high school, and years afterward. Jack Lord was the BEST. He was the reason I watched the series.
Hawaii 1.) Mystic land of Hawaii Mystic land of Hawaii Blue seas in Hawaii Blue skies above Land where all your sorrows and fears disappear throughout the years in Hawaii, magic land of love, of love.
2.) Wind sings of Hawaii Happiness of love Wind sings of Hawaii Blue skies above Wind that is so soft and sweet Now you get the chance to meet in Hawaii, Hawaii’s song 3.) If you and a friend now get an early start then come to Hawaii land with a heart You’ll find you’re loved here all along You’ll be singing this magic song in Hawaii, Hawaii Five-O, Hawaii Five-O.
Absolutely hilarious to me. Their old Ltd's and desdillunian boats were just too big and slow for hookman's mustang and highly skilled driving. Mcgarrett might've had a chance if he had left his car running like alot of police do, hell looked like it took him about 90 seconds to start his car, just enough time for the hookman to gain a considerable lead on him. Anyway I just love classic five 0 moments like this. thanks for posting my friend.
Thank you Scott for the kind words. Yes, krappy editing. But, intentional (or with as much effort as I wanted to put in) effort to make it "good". Keep the faith, Bruddah.
one of seveal, there were 3 cars Mc garret drove 1. late 67 monterey 2 door(pilot) 2. one black 4 door-destroyed in an episode in 77/78 season(disco episode) 3. Black 74 grand marquis 73/74 season til the end of 80. the one that got wrecked has been restored CBS keept it till worn down to sell... story from a ford hobbie mag about a year ago.
I checked....the film (for some reason) is reversed. Look at the network ID (FOX4) on the bottom.....it is backwards as opposed to all the other network IDs which are readable.
This is a bunch of miscellaneous car chase clips edited together from different episodes, but the actual "Five-0" chases were equally fake if you knew where the locations really were. If you were from Honolulu, you often saw silly editing of cars in places that were actually miles apart. I'm particularly amused by Dano saying "We just passed Bishop Museum" as he's shown driving on Kapiolani Boulevard past the McKinley High School sports field.
That sideways slide McGarrett did near the end of the video was soooo smooth! Forget Tokyo Drift, that was a Mercury, American Badass Drift!!
This is one of the funniest things I have ever seen. A true classic with an all time ending. Thanks for bringing back the joy of Five - O.

Those snub nosed 38’s really did alot of damage
Well, Five-O had Full Alien Tech Jacket bullets. I'm kidding. Thank you for watching. Keep the faith, Bruddah.

If I’m missing a right hand, I’m buying an automatic transmission 😅

Very cool! Great job! It's pretty neat seeing the streets of Oahu back in the day. =)
When TV shows were REALLY interesting, and when the US-made automobile was worth beating one's own chest in praise!
Running hot with just a siren...no lights of any kind...gotta love it!
Like anyone would know which car the siren was coming from. It is totally ridiculous, and I never understood why the 5-0 team didn't have flashing lights.
You did a great job. It brought back memories. Thanks!
@JohnGribbin its a 73 ford custom 500. base trim full size ford used in taxi and police fleets
McGarrets hair spray was awesome too, his hair was never out of place!
what a collection of REAL beautiful cars..

Same. I don't have the knowledge nor software to make one right now, but an hour-long mash-up of classic Five-O car chases would be hilarious!
Seeing those old cars in car chases just reminds me of how much horsepower in relation to how little or no handling, stability and traction control they had.
Yeah Bias Ply ( pre Radial) would squeal if you looked at em wrong too.
I remember this like it was yesterday...classic McGarrett ❤❤
Mahalo, Bruddah.
1:09 Pause for the 74 Lincoln Continental Mark iii.
Mcgarrett was big mad at that dump truck driver for sure. Did Danno say leakey leakey highway? Too funny.
Liki Liki HWY
I keep playing the clip at 3:43 over and over again. The music is so cool! Does anyone know what episode that is from? I would really appreciate it.
It was used in many episodes, usually in driving scenes.
Awesome!! I remember the "Hookman" episode from when I was a kid!
I wrote these lyrics when I watched my favorite show,

Greatness!

I wonder who made the bodies for these Ford and Mercury vehicles? Back in the day, my dad was a Chevy man himself; body by Fisher.
Thank you Scott for the kind words. Yes, krappy editing. But, intentional (or with as much effort as I wanted to put in) effort to make it "good". Keep the faith, Bruddah.
Very good job I like
These were the days when Hawaii was cool. Not too many people.
3:41 Is the coolest part of this video! I keep replaying this part!
Danno got him at the end. His arm came off with the rifle attached to it

I like to watch Hawaii Five-O and love McGarrett!
Cool~~~
Why does the car at 3:07 have right side steering wheel?
Part of this is from Hookman, the original.
Hookman was the DC Shooter. No fingerprints. Couldn't determine who was shooting. Etc.
@Hotrodelectric Not bad, cheesy, or crappy. It's better than the overblown car chases they do now.
mute or turn down the volume and put on Driver 1 music :D Epic!
thats not fair.. my LTD is only 4500lbs even!
they used several a few from 68-73 then a 74 till the end?
i had to watch this again...mcgarrett's car was a beast
Anyone know what episode the scene at 0:58 is from?
How come no one seems to slide across the bonnet of there car anymore? it seemed to be very effective 30 years ago...
did anyone notice the gearshift on the getaway car at 2:22? it is on the driver side.
Yep!
Whats with no flashing police lights for the era on the unmarkeds?
quite a chase the five -o gang was on it
H5O version of the Bullit chase - Mopar vs FoMoCo
When I become Dictator-for-Life, my secret police will be using those Hawaii Five-O Mercs.
How is it that a man with hooks for hands can outdrive Steve McGarrett?
I checked....the film (for some reason) is reversed. Look at the network ID (FOX4) on the bottom.....it is backwards as opposed to all the other network IDs which are readable.
Love that Mercury Park Lane Brougham
Anything Brougham rules.
great work...5 stars
car chase? it takes 4 minutes for these cars to turn a corner! this whole chase was around a parking lot, once
Interesting, as this show didn't emphasize chase scenes...
Does anyone know that Mercury at 4:38 ?
@bushwood You're right. Hawaii Five-O is the best police drama ever, and Jack Lord rules!
Mcgarrett -
2:54 outfit 1
3:31 outfit 2
3:42 outfit 3
3:58 outfit 4
The Mustangs in the first scene was white. Then it turned green.
Hubcaps! Hubcaps everywhere!
It's Like Like Highway. Funny how he's at the warehouses then in mid town, then back at the warehouses in a second!
Jack Lord only had the two cars in the 12 years the show was on TV. A 68 and a 74 Mercury.
Lord insisted on keeping the 1968 Mercury that long because he felt the 1969 and later restyling made it a little too stodgy for his character.
Love the old school siren at @4:52
I like it, it feels almost surreal!
This is great!
Scotch tape, a razor blade, Dad's Yashika Super-8mm = Awesomeness! Revel in the crappy glory!
I love the black Chrysler (New Yorker, Newport?) at 0:56-59. It's fun to see these beautiful American cars in their prime.
ThymeBottle That black Chrysler is a 1970 Chrysler 300 two door hardtop.
Hahaha I didnt know the car could drive sideways 4:54 haha
It wasn't the car, it was McGarrett.
Because that's how it was built, sheeeeesh!!!
70s car chases AKA Boat Races
is that Jack "Lord Oh Mighty"
Should have used Google Maps
@socalltd yeah! Thx buddy!
Wow. Sirens drive me crazy, I tell ya. Won't get hook to that. After 5-0 minutes, there goes the catch 22.
This was crappily edited. Just make sense of the epsisodes.
Wow that one armed man is everywhere...
This is a bunch of miscellaneous car chase clips edited together from different episodes, but the actual "Five-0" chases were equally fake if you knew where the locations really were. If you were from Honolulu, you often saw silly editing of cars in places that were actually miles apart.

Thank you. Man I wish it was that fast in real life. That's one of the most annoying parts of the old and new shows and how he says Likelike. OMG
MMM.. Mustangs, fullsize fords & lincolns lossing hubcaps = SWEET!
Real slow boat-like cars.
First off all, they shoulda charge that dump truck driver for obstruction of justice! XD
mustangs and lincolns = sweet
Now play the original case without the 'arty' edits!
Filler...
All Filler and No Killer!
HAHAHA!!!Gold Lincoln lost its hubcap
I love watching those big goverment issue sleds trying to corner.
Good One
Monterey/Park Lane...It would need a 428(or so)to keep up with a Mustang.
me too! I guess you're as old as I am!
The editing is indeed crappy....BUT WHAT THE HECK???? Still funny in seeing all the different episodes sliced together into one...mess?
@baraxor Amen I still Want to Find one.
oh...i see it
that cool at 4:55 man
it would better if he just jump it
Hookman!
