Filament provided by Polymaker.
Shoutouts to Polymaker for supporting Our Guy!
I like some of their stuff and appreciate them working with you.
Bro im so glad that you have been officially sponsored!!
That Whaleshark looks so great! Nice that you get it to work that well.
And good job for your first sponsored video!
Good job on the sponsorship man! And also love the blaster, you somehow managed to make an interesting HPA blaster with just 3d printing. I love it...
:) thanks
I'm glad you're opening up to more financially viable means of making these blasters. People want you to be able to do this job, and you shouldn't be ashamed of wanting to do it. Imo you still have a LOT of legroom for ethically monetizing what you do for the hobby
Not that you asked, but I think you should consider making your patreon more involved for the same reason. Let people support you!
I'm considering it. It just feels a bit like selling out, ya know? I don't like the way it makes me feel. But stuff costs money.
@@Sillybutts help us help you! 😊
SO HAPPY FOR YOUR SPONSOR!!! I agree filament is $$$. And I’m sure for you especially when your testing stuff and try multiple variations
The dryfire sound is very satisfying lol, congrats on the achivement man! That thing is awesome
Polymaker has some of the best filament on the market so that’s a fantastic sponsor! Glad to hear it!
Dude! Congrats on the Polymaker endorsement! That's probably the best readily available filament on the market. I have used both their PLA and ABS and will be trying some ASA this weekend.
This is my first time using it, it seems fine.
Hi dude, I just purchased an Alchemist and Foxbat Hardware Kit from Out of Darts, now I'll have to wait almost 20 days (I'm from Italy). I'm literally on cloud nine, things have been kinda rough recently and being able to build your brilliant creations will make a lot for my mental health. Thanks for everything, keep smiling and designing! We love ya
Oh, and Polymaker is now officially the only brand I'll purchase filament from. Polymaker team, if you're reading this: The collab made you gain a loyal customer (as long as Silly gets actually supported by y'all). Cheers!
The filament seems fine, it’ll do. The surface isn’t as glossy as the Hatchbox I usually use, but the Polymaker seems fine structurally so far.
Sorry to hear things are rough there, I’m glad that you’re enjoying my blasters :)
Un’altro italiano, non me lo aspettavo
@@Blizzard117 Ahahahah vero? Un peccato che qui da noi poca gente abbia una passione per i blaster.
Ayee congrats on getting a sponsorship!! Also sick blaster
This is incredible! Would be super interested in building one myself!
Also congrats on the polymaker sponsor!
May I suggest adding a reciprocating charging handle? That way you don’t have to dry fire it, and you can force a dart into the breach if there is a failure. If you need inspiration, I should suggest making a charging handle similar to the first AR-10s, which had theirs in a carry handle.
That was planned, but I didn’t want to bother with it for the first prototype.
Polymaker is a quality filament manufacturer too
I hadn’t tried it prior to their reaching out to me. It seems fine.
@@Sillybutts To carry on from what others are saying in the comments, you don't need to feel guilty or ambivalent about this sponsorship. They make a good quality product, and sponsor a lot of talented makers such as yourself. Could be a lot worse ahem*raid shadow legends*ahem
Heya Silly, I've got a couple of questions:
1) How hard does it fire?
2) Could you make a barrel attachment that works almost like a rifle grenade for silly shells?
3) What are the upsides / downsides of a shorter barrel? I might make one that has a barrel flush with the "mouth" of the face.
This looks amazing and I can't wait for it to be fully available! I'm going to be making a Wildstyle soon for my GF. Keep up the great work!
1. I haven't chronoed it yet, because this is just a sort of loose throw-together setup. I still need to put in the proper fittings and fully assemble it.
2. Someone else did that on Printables iirc. A barrel attachment with a slot for Silly Shells.
3. Longer barrel = more FPS (within reason, and according to the PSI of the hpa core). The amount of barrel I'm currently using here might be a bit too much for the air capacity of the core, I haven't done much testing.
BRO!!!!! THIS IS AMAZING! please tell me it will hopefully be for sale fully assembled?? This would be perfect for the games in my area. What's the FPS and is there a way to change the FPS other than changing the barrel size?
And it's about time someone sponsored you, your designs are freaking genius.
PSI changes FPS
I’m not planning to sell any of these, I’ll just be making the files and the parts list public whenever it’s time to release.
The FPS can be changed by raising or lowering the PSI of the HPA core, or by changing the barrel length.
can't wait for this to officially come out!
I was used to overture petg but started using polymaker petg, it was easier to tune and was less bloby
That looks super cool
that really cool polymaker is supporting you. i found their filimant to print nice and have great properties.
Holy shit this looks so good!!
This is definitely a game changer for the hobby! Too bad a lot of local groups are terrified of HPA. Can you believe that there are groups that have banned HPA because they think it allows you to shoot 500FPS with no form of regulation? It was the same type of ignorant terror when people started using lipos. Oh no! Lipos will explode! No safe! People, don't be sheep. The foam hobby has so much to offer to be bogged down by local ignorant rules from stubborn gate keepers. Start your own group, if anything, and enjoy the hobby for all it offers.
Do you plan on making an Nstrike adapter option for those who don't want the buffer tube?
There might be multiple stock options. I'm currently considering switching to a built in adjustable stock, so I can have more room in the back of the blaster to move the components for better functionality.
Anticipating the DB

Excited 😮
Still wanna see what that air tank could do in a mortar firing either mega xl or demolisher rockets
badass
SWEET!!!
very cool
Also, (second comment unrelated to the first for engagement algorithm purposes)
I wasn't initially considering building something like this, but now i think i will. It's looking so good.
I don't know anything about hpa, but is there a way to do bolt-hold-open safely?
You can just hold back the trigger to hold open the bolt while you reload.
Otherwise, you could do it electronically. Or make a manual button to hold it open once it’s back.
This is absolutely amazing!! I want one! How many shots are you expecting on a tank? What psi is it running at? Any sort of regulator stepping it down from 3000psi?
100 psi, stepped down by the regulator from 3000 PSI. I’m using a 62ci supply tank now.
On the previous 13cu tank I was using, I was able to get ~60 shots from the bottle before it was empty. So this bigger supply tank should be good for around 280 shots or more?
Dang 100psi that’s great. You could in reality just use a standard air compressor for testing purposes. Run it all day and not have to fill your tank back up. Love where this is going! Keep it up!!
Would you ever do a version with the air tank in the stock similar to the Milsig M79 or is that just unnecessarily complicated?
Edit: Alternatively, how about a thumbhole stock that houses the airtank, but still uses tubes to connect to the blaster itself. And I say thumbhole just so you could add clips or whatever to secure the air lines to the stock as it runs to the bottom of the grip.
The problem is the air tank is pretty big. Fitting it on the blaster itself would really mess with the balance of everything.
Woah man watch your trigger discipline!
lol
Is the ram not going forward an oringe size issue on the ram?
It might be, but it’s really just that the ram doesn’t push forward very hard with this pneumatic cylinder. I might need to add another elastic to pull forward the ram, or use a more powerful pneumatic cylinder.
So when? Very excited.
Any need for alpha or beta testers?
why did you decide to call it whale shark?
Well, the other HPA blaster I’m working on is Sand Shark, and this one is bigger than that one. So, whale shark! Also, big ol mouth on the whale shark looks good on this blaster. And whale sharks are really cute.
i may ahve to get me a 3d printer....
POLYMAKER BROUGHT TO YOU BY SILLYBUTTS. Praise be to whaleshark. Looking forward to more!
