    Very inspirational, just proves we don’t need to be coerced into buying patterns all the time, but to be brave enough and play around with what we already have…and that’s thanks to your videos for giving us these wonderful ideas.

    Great video, Sally! I recently make a faux play suit using chalk & notch wren blouse and safiya trousers; but my all time favourite hack is the dress I made using the TATB Skye dress but with Indigo puff sleeves and ruffle hem! It involved redrafting the Skye bodice to match the indigo bodice armscye so it wasn’t a quick/easy hack, but I love the result!

      That sounds like an amazing hack with the Sky’s Dress. Funny you should say about the Wren/Safiyas because I’ve just made this as a playsuit myself - great minds haha. Thanks so much for watching xx

    Fabulous makes. I’m still very new to sewing, but I love the idea of pattern hacking as I grow more confident. I’m shocked at the prices of some patterns so the versatility of making new garments from mish mash is brilliant. Your styles and fabrics really suit you.

      Yes It is a good way to get your moneys worth out of a pattern but I also want to support indie brands too. It’s a bit of a balancing act isn’t it. Good luck with your hacks I’m sure you’ll have great fun x

    Thanks Sally for yet another great video, so well presented . I have so many patterns that I haven't used ( don't quite know why !! ), so I'm
    trying not to buy anymore ." Hacking and Mashing " could well be the way forward .

    You can stitch down those facings under the flounce of your current dress. Bias binding would be a great method for future projects! I love your use of flounces and collars.

      Thank you yes that would be a great idea. I prefer bias binding really so I'll try that next time - thank you for watching xx

    Nice makes ..the flounce on the dress looks kinder odd the way it sits.. so may be worth trying it again on something new ..thanks for sharing...

    Hi Sally I would really like to know how you store your patterns, especially the traced off ones? I find them difficult to store neatly.

    • @SecretLifeOfASeamstress
      @SecretLifeOfASeamstress  2 роки тому

      This is an ongoing battle of mine too. At the moment I fold them as neatly as I can and store in plastic envelopes. Not the greatest but I don’t have enough space to hang them unfortunately xx
