I was born in the mid 1980's so this was before I was born, but I love classic British comedy. It's much better then virtually all shows broadcast on television currently.
Missing this show 😧 one of the best sitcom ever 😍 I am not English, but understood the humour and love it 👌 Fantastic "Chef d'oeuvre" like we said in French 😉
On the Buses was one the great comedies around at the time,... in what was a glorious and golden era for British sitcoms,..so many wonderfully funny ...., brilliantly written gems gleamed into our living rooms every week ..... porridge, steptoe & son,... Rising Damp, ...Fawlty towers,...Open all hours,....Dad's Army...... George & Mildred,....Are you being Served...... Likely Lads.....the list goes on and on ,....then into the ,80s , the unforgettable Delboy came along with his dodgy dealings ,....it really was a vintage time for comedy, ..great times
Cliff 19555 thanks very much for posting this chuck. Any information I learn about this beloved series is wonderful. They were all so very talented, especially Reg who is one of my working class heroes.
That was a bit tasteless wasn't it Daryl? I mean what kind of sick b@stard would sit and watch telly in their living room, with their brothers and dead parents?
Loved and always still do always watch them now as i have got all of them on d v d and i still watch them on telly and keeping them in disc for always ive had then since they been all on 😊
He pretty much vanished for years, earned a fortune on the show but spent a fortune as well, with such a lavish lifestyle he couldn't just go and get a normal job, it wouldn't pay him anywhere near as much money as he wanted, so waited and waited for the phone to ring, it never did so he ran away from home and contemplated suicide, not even the publicity from this got him much work. It's hard for a humble working class person to understand how living on champagne and oysters, owning a rolls Royce a Porsche and a sailing boat, can be living in the gutter if you drive a Ford an eat fish and chips every friday
On The Buses was a show that had us laughing and it is about time to real celebrate this special show I know most of the cast are no longer with us but that doesn't mean we can't and I wonder there might some hidden moments and was there only the few movies The show's cast all were stars and so were the co stars was there ever a musical planed it would be very different to the TV shows just wondering? Did the show break any records?
@@soulman3590 Far from it _'soulman'._ (and I bet that screen name is a contradiction in terms too!) Comedies have always been my absolute favourite genre of TV programmes. I bet you find it hysterical when someone slips on a banana skin, or gets their foot stuck in a bucket of wallpaper paste. I bet you *still* find Tommy Trinder, Arthur Askey, Freddie _'The Paedophile'_ Starr, and Mike & Bernie Winters all trouser-wettingly funny. Love this show. Thanks to all who wrote and starred in it. So much joy over the decades and still providing that joy now.

Nice to hear the show is getting new fans 👍
On The Buses & Dad's Army. The two greatest sitcoms in history.
They were unfunny and racist.

Where you drunk throughout the 60's, 70's and 80's then Chris?🤣
I love on the buses only got into it last year and I'm only 25
Comedy from the nineteen sixties, seventies and eighties was bawdy, crude, unsophisticated, and FUNNY! Viewing figures confirm it's popularity!
It was a fantastic comedy series!
I see you've stopped taking your medication again Alan!

Cliff19555 Thanks for the advice about the new book. Are you are big fan like me?
This series will always be popular as it appeals to the common man.
Jack and Arfur remain the 2 greatest characters on british TV ........
Bob Grant hardly worked again after On The Buses.

Rip Jack
Tis not a reunion without the then still surviving cast members!!
There's only one person left of the people on the stage then.

Whats the use...most of them were dead by then....
True Richard... but then some would argue what was the use of making the Godawful sitcom in the first place?
