I've been there in "Alte Oper Frankfurt" 2016. Performance and sound was incredibly good. It's a little bit ashaming, what the folks gave as a "thank you" to Inbal and the musicians. Later I met two of the musiscians in the metro and gave my best "Thanks to you", I was able to give. I asked, why the public was so ignorant, the answer: "They didn't know it." "What, really? It.s a famous work!" "No, not for the normal people. They only give big applause to the famous works!" It's sad, but true. For me it was a wonderful (h)ear experience!!! Also, its sound is overcrowded with brass section making listening a tiring experience. Next, separation between parts is unclear, all of them sounding kinda lethargic.
1) Although Bruckner would have analyzed the chords using 18th century European figured bass, I have chosen 20th century American jazz chord terminology, but with having to choose between function and enharmonic simplicity (I wasn't going to write down double flatted chords). 2) From the best that I can hear and in the key of Eb Major: 1:03:02 = Eb unison, Cb Major, Eb unison, Cb Major, Eb unison, Cb Major 1:03:30 = Ab Minor/Eb, Eb Major, F Diminished Minor/Eb, Eb Major 1:03:40 = Ab Minor, Eb Minor/Gb, Cb Major - Cb Major 7th, Eb Sus/Bb - Eb Minor/Bb 1:03:50 = Ab Minor 6th, Eb open fifth, add 2/Bb, Eb Minor/Bb - Eb open fifth, add 2/Bb, Ab Minor/Cb, Eb Sus/Bb - Eb Minor/Bb, 1:03:59 = F Diminished Minor/Cb, Eb open fifth, add 2/Bb, Ab Minor 1:04:09 = Eb unison, Cb Major, Eb unison, Eb Major, Eb unison, Cb Major 1:04:27 = Eb Unison, Fb Major (enharmonically becoming E Major) 1:04:36 = A Minor, G Major, C Major, B Major, E Major, Eb Major, Ab Minor, Gb Major, Cb Major, Bb Major, Ab Minor, Gb Major 1:05:03 = Fb Major 1:05:12 = Eb Major 3) Starting at 1:04:09 and particularly at 1:04:36 on through to the end, the strings play a triplet figure that increases the harmonic tension of each chord, in many instances by playing non-chord tones on the downbeats of the first of two successive triplets. These string triplets are something like what the dying Mozart referred to as "the fire" as he dictated his Requiem to Salieri in the film version of Amadeus.
It is a sequence of 14 simple major/minor triads (the most basic of all chords), but a very unusual sequence, and ending with the flattened supertonic (in this case F flat) which is a particularly unusual chord. And yet it all sounds so natural and inevitable. The context of the "scale" notes played by the strings may be an essential factor too. Here B shows his unsurpassed mastery of harmony. In the ending of the 7th he goes on to show his mastery of something more (which doesn't have a technical name).

Nice opening horn solo!
Maravilha!
even if I wouldn't be amazed by all of this piece, I would listen to this one hour of music. Just for the overwhelming coda. simply incredible.
This coda is one of the best piece of music ever written ; ;
It is awesome; marvellous!!! Thank you so much All!
Con todo mi afecto me sumo a los aplausos. Y muchas gracias hr-Sinfonieorchester.

I like this because this makes sense and some peeps don’t and you can tell what is happening by the music 🎵
What an amazing piece of music. And the close - sublime!

Absolut ergreifend ❤❤❤
✝️✝️✝️🙏
55:10 wished he repeated that theme
It really is lovely.
The chord progression in tge end ist just sooo wonderful! Does sb know the exact chords?
1) Although Bruckner would have analyzed the chords using 18th century European figured bass, I have chosen 20th century American jazz chord terminology, but with having to choose between function and enharmonic simplicity (I wasn't going to write down double flatted chords).
2) From the best that I can hear and in the key of Eb Major:
1:03:02 = Eb unison, Cb Major, Eb unison, Cb Major, Eb unison, Cb Major
1:03:30 = Ab Minor/Eb, Eb Major, F Diminished Minor/Eb, Eb Major
1:03:40 = Ab Minor, Eb Minor/Gb, Cb Major - Cb Major 7th, Eb Sus/Bb - Eb Minor/Bb
1:03:50 = Ab Minor 6th, Eb open fifth, add 2/Bb, Eb Minor/Bb - Eb open fifth, add 2/Bb, Ab Minor/Cb, Eb Sus/Bb - Eb Minor/Bb,
1:03:59 = F Diminished Minor/Cb, Eb open fifth, add 2/Bb, Ab Minor
1:04:09 = Eb unison, Cb Major, Eb unison, Eb Major, Eb unison, Cb Major
1:04:27 = Eb Unison, Fb Major (enharmonically becoming E Major)
1:04:36 = A Minor, G Major, C Major, B Major, E Major, Eb Major, Ab Minor, Gb Major, Cb Major, Bb Major, Ab Minor, Gb Major
1:05:03 = Fb Major
1:05:12 = Eb Major
3) Starting at 1:04:09 and particularly at 1:04:36 on through to the end, the strings play a triplet figure that increases the harmonic tension of each chord, in many instances by playing non-chord tones on the downbeats of the first of two successive triplets.
FFS : THIS FIRST MOVEMENT . WHAT A FEELING AND PASSION .
Excellent performance!

Maybe the best ending of a symphony ever.
