How the hell can you blame normal people when its the government who cant deal with 80% unrecyclable .normal people pay taxes beliving the government is sorting the waste not just shoveling in in a hole
Profits. These trash companies all around the country are profiting millions of dollars just to dump it into a place that will be forgotten forever. It’s all about the mighty dollar not about the environment.
Decades later, once everything biodegradable in the landfill has decomposed, you can mine it. Any metals you find can be recycled, as can any glass that is identifiable as coming from a bottle or a jar. Some plastics may or may not be suitable for recycling. If you find any dirty hypodermic needles in the landfill (which may be a possibility depending on how old it is), be very careful. These will have to be collected very carefully and incinerated. *Never* touch any item of clinical waste with your bare hands. Obviously wear the appropriate PPE when mining a landfill, because older landfills from before the introduction of restrictions on what you can put into the landfill may contain asbestos. This will need to be disposed of in a designated hazardous waste landfill. As for the rest, which cannot be recycled, that can just be landfilled again. Make sure that you're constructing the landfill properly, with the necessary pipes for the leachate and landfill gas, and the crushed rock to stop the pipes getting clogged. Ensure that the landfill is not to close to the coast to minimise the risk of coastal erosion washing it into the sea. You may even be able to just use the same site. And because there'll be more space due to decomposition of the biodegradable waste and the removal of the metals (and possibly some glass as well), you could perhaps put some more waste in!
They're very picky about what can be recycled so I just gave up. I just throw it away when I'm done with it. The government forced me to be that way by taxing the hell out of me.
Yeah, also ask yourself can you really afford to buy all those products that are or claim to be made from the natural resources? And can we ask why we have to pay more because the government is refusing to make things like this affordable for us? Also ask yourselves, why are products that are made from synthetic that we wear today are affordable?
We always need our 90 gallon container. We fill it to the top in one week even with another container for recycling. Most weeks I even have to crush what's inside down so the lid will close. Family of 5.
We're a family of 6 and we have two 96 gallon cans and they're always overflowing every week and that doesn't even include the bags we put next to the cans because they're so full. I wish they'd just give us a 3rd garbage can
Wall-E warned us.

Veronica ! Also The movie Lorax👍💯🌲🌍🌱🥺
I've never been an environmentalist freak, but I will use things until they literally can't be used anymore.

my roomates throw the most easily recyclable items (tin cans, plastic jugs, glass jars) into the garbage and its infuriating.
so what happens to the trash at the landfill ? they burn it? they bury it ? they throw it in the ocean ?
They leave it there haha some will discompose and some will stay for 1,000 years or more
can you also publish what happen to waste in tacoma recovery and transfer center. thank you

Put it all in lava
Pollution dah thats not how it works hahaha even if you burn it, it goes to the air
It would be great if this video was captioned!
They should put worms in the pit so the worms can eat the trash
And then they will be stronger and create new virusus
If you shredded small enough then farmers can plough in the paddock.
But our recycling truck never comes though

You don't need to buy those haha simply reduce waste
Anyone else here from Earth by lil dicky?
just you buddy
👍🏾
RECYCLE EVERYTHING THAT SHOULD BE ! AND INCINERATE ALL THE REST ... NO MORE LAND FILLS ,, THAT SIMPLE.....
what about pollution from incineration
Recycling is a bigger energy waste than throwing stuff out. Plenty of room for.more landfills.
Just facts
Well reducing waste is way better then any of 2 mentioned hahaha
Knut
I thought they dump in the lava

160,000 tons of garbage a year huh? Yeah tell that to New York where they have more then 3.2 million tons of garbage a year.
Wow two months later and my comment got a like.
I could live off what people throw away and generate an income from the sale of metals. They won't let me near it though.
Why don't you build a waste to energy plant?
I have to watch this for school :(
Why try to solve a problem downstream when the source of the problem is upstream?
Agreed

burying trash isn't safe for anyone, its just making the earth very unsafe!!
I'd never do that, I'd just throw it in space

This is where depression fakers belong
Can't we just burn all the trash?
