Thanks for showing off this deck for us. I also tried something similar, and found it's just not good. Like you found out, it's way too reactive, doesn't have good synergies with beans, and loses to both the hyper aggro and super late game decks. I found a selesnya based domain deck to outperform this one in all metrics.

Definitely agree with you on adding a couple Malicious Eclipse in the side, maybe also 1 more Ghost Vacuum? Or is the UW Oculus matchup already good?

If i duress any red deck, im always taking the highest damage potential output card ie. Turn inside out or monstrous rage, anything else probably isnt a wise idea, id much rather they draw a card if i can make them discard a potential +3+0 plus prowess damage spell

Finished playing a lot of both dimir demon and rock ramp, it seems to me that golgari ramp is better against every deck. If it wasn’t for Javier having to get pretty lucky against Seth, we’d be saying golgari ramp is the better deck. Anytime I get paired against demons, I feel pretty good. It has better removal and better creatures imo, with just as much or more card draw with beans alongside the mana advantage from haunt wood.

I recommend Dimir Midrange if you are looking for a deck that is strong in the metagame

Hey Arne! Was there a reason for no Liliana on the sideboard? And no more Frillbacks (very versatile and good against many matchups)?

    • @ArneHuschenbethYT

Liliana doesn't work that well in a reactive control deck like this one. Additionally the matchups where Liliana shines are already (in theory) good matchups for this deck. So, while Liliana is a good card in a vacuum, it doesn't add much to this deck if that makes sense.
I like Frillback, I didn't work on this archetype as much as others in my team. If I had to guess, they decided that they didn't need the graveyard hate aspect of the card and they already had enough better ways to remove enchantments and artifacts. Prefering Tear Asunder over Frillback.

@ thank you so much for replying and explaining your view point. Shame that there is only 15 days left to this format. I really enjoyed this grind. I would also be curious to hear about your journey at the World Championships, but I imagine you talked about it in one of your stream already

It has to be said that the destructive power of the red deck is extremely exaggerated.
In the Explorer Format, I even had to prepare Leyline of Sanctity and Leyline of the Void to deal with them.

@@DiscardatRandom That's obvious lol. He wants to know what he does differently that allows him to do that.

Difficult to say. Talent, experience, the ability to bring his A-game to the table during the tournament. Seth seems to able to focus very well and just generally has a great ability to assess his role in each game.
