This is pretty much a perfect example of less is more. George Daniels is a master and your interpretation of the song shows that same mastery. The fills are sharp and clever. Always enjoy this style and use of the hi hat especially. 10/10
Agreed! George is very good at not overcomplicating things and keeping the kick and snare locked while augmenting any empty space. This cover is slightly flashier- as it should be, the drums are centre stage- but the high hat skill and snare fills really shows a knowledge of what makes the original and the 1975’s drum work in general so good
I haven’t drummed in so long but this makes me want to get back to it after over a decade on the guitar. Considering buying an electric kit but there’s nothing like the feel of real skins and cymbals
Pretty tasteful playing! Noticed that George actually plays the hi-hat pattern with the tip of the stick rather than the shoulder for a more delicate sound on this and I can't hear the same 16th note /disco style groove you're playing versus the recording. Snare sounds class - punchy and dry 👌🏼 nice cover if you aren't too fussed about sticking to the recording!
yeah! found your channel yesterday and love your song picks and how clean you play them. keep it simple and locked in. not that easy man! keep sharing it :)
thanks! its: R(ride)LRL(snare) (the first two strokes are 32nd notes, the last two are 16th notes. And the ride cymbal is played together with the kick. You repeat this for 4 times. And then you end the fill with R(snare)L(tom1)R(tom2)Kick in 16th notes
Hey brother, any way I could get the drum track by itself? I am trying to put together a few covers on youtube into one "full band" cover. Let me know! thanks
@@jacobkincaid123 ahh, now I understand. That totally depends on the original track. If the drums are very loud, then yes, I have to quantisize. If the drums are quiet, than not. But I never quantizise on 100%.
Thanks for the fantastic support, everyone! Check out my online drum school: drumx.com/

btw this is the most impressive drum cover for the 1975 that I’ve ever seen
thanks! its:
R(ride)LRL(snare) (the first two strokes are 32nd notes, the last two are 16th notes. And the ride cymbal is played together with the kick. You repeat this for 4 times.

Nice.

What is that snare called, feel like I recognize it but just can't put my finger on it
Im not completely sure since its my very first piece of drum equipment. Its some sort of pearl brass snare
What is that little (D.I.?) you have on your pocket? The thing with the XLR cable
thats a fisher amps body back. My inears are pluged in to that. Thats how i get the sound on my ears
@@LeanderWidmoserDrums Thank you for replying! I only see guitar amps on their website though ):

true hahaha
random question, do you pocket your drums in your daw or no?
hey Jacob, what do you mean with pocket?
@@LeanderWidmoserDrums sorry, older producer term. lol. do you time correct to grid, or are you just really good lolol
