  • My 1st time watching the 20th Anniversary of Harry Potter! This was levels beyond what I expected. I thought it was gonna be the old fashioned 1 actor in a chair & greenscreen getting interviewed at a time format. Boy am I glad I was wrong lol.

Columbus only did two cause after the second one he realized his kids were growing up and he wasn’t home much to see them even though they all did a part in the movies. So he basically stopped doing Harry Potter movies to spend time with his family. Robbie Coltrane’s last line about not being around but Hagrid always will has new meaning since he died not long after this was done. I do think that either something did happen between Emma & Tom or she did that little grin to mess with fans. If you think the kiss between Rupert and Emma would be weird cause they were like brother and sister.

I love your emotional investment to these movies and characters. I've read every book 5-6 times and watched every movie more times than I can count. They never get old. Only one other fictional series affected me as much and that was Lord of the Rings. For both series, the books brought to the big screen surpassed my expectations.

i've been studying abroad in paris the past few months, and your harry potter reactions have really helped me feel less lonely at times, and i feel there's so much power in that, how a fictional series can bring people together in the most unexpected ways. you remind me so much of my friend back home who i miss dearly. thank you for putting yourself out there. your true, authentic self. it makes all the difference.

here’s a pretty lengthy summary of the final battle in deathly hallows:
when voldemort flaunts harry’s dead body to the wounded and grieving hogwarts members, the fight then breaks out in the great hall. harry goes under his invisibility cloak (which is used WAY more in the books!), and neville kills nagini. this is a lot earlier on in the fight than in the movies.
voldemorts last stand consists of giants, teachers, students, hogsmeade shopkeepers, and parents. harry goes around casting stuns and curses, as well as protego for those fighting against death eaters. everyone fighting against voldemort’s army is doing impressively well, and that becomes extremely important later. similar to the movie, a battle commences with the weasley’s and belatrix, ending in her death due to molly weasley being an absolute boss.
this is the beginning of the biggest and most glaring difference between the movie and the book. as the crowd cheers for belatrix’s death, tom shrieks and draws his wand on molly. harry immediately casts protego on her verbally, and reveals himself. voldemort and harry have one of if not the most important interactions in this final moment, where harry reveals the “flaw in the plan,” which is the name of the chapter.
essentially, due to the circumstances of harry’s “death” in the forbidden forest, he willingly “gave up his life” for everyone fighting against voldemort. this cast the same protective charm that was cast on harry 16 years prior, when his mother gave up her life for him. voldemort was somewhere in between distraught and overconfident in this sequence, and it shows just how childish and immature he is in his final moments.
harry then goes on to explain the allegiance of the elder wand, that snape was not the master of it, and that it was actually draco who had disarmed dumbledore in the astronomy tower the year prior. voldemort continues to attempt to make harry feel lesser, that he’s not nearly as powerful as the dark lord himself and that none of this exposition matters.
however, as the sun rises, harry reveals that he disarmed draco at malfoy manor, making him the true master of the elder wand. this meant that voldemort was not only vulnerable due to his recent lack of horcruxes, but the most powerful wand in the world was not his to wield.
the actual duel commences, with harry winning. once the battles over, harry repairs his old wand, and leaves the elder wand sitting in dumbledore’s office. this is the one thing that probably shouldn’t have happened (and was better in the movie!), as harry went on to become an auror, and would surely be disarmed dozens of times in the rest of his life.
however, for the rest of the finale, the book is far superior. this was way longer than intended and doesn’t even scratch the surface of the nuance and detail of the books. many satisfying character arcs are tied up very neatly in this battle, including kreacher, who wasn’t even in deathly hallows part 2. go read the books!!! if you liked the movies they’re gonna absolutely blow you away 🤗

I only found your channel through this reaction.
I cry every single time I watch the 20 year special. Harry Potter has such a huge place in my heart, it's how my brother and I bonded, how we got so close, it was also the common denominator between all of my friends. We loved Harry Potter. The moment I realized I was in love with my best friend was coming out of the midnight premiere of The Half-Blood Prince when she held my hand.
So many moments in my life have been marked by these books and films. It truly, truly gave me a place to go when life was bad.
And now, having played Hogwarts Legacy for over a week now (I've been playing since the 7th) it's just making so many things come back, the joy and comfort I found in this world. Truly, it changed our world in a different way that Star Wars and LOTR did, I think it was the first fictional world to which people really wanted to belong.
I'm going to binge your reactions now.

I hope you go back & watch again that moment when Ralph Fiennes first gets on screen & talks about being offered the part. You were talking & missed the funny thing he said. It looks like you heard it but didn't register the humor - LOL, thank god for his kids, right? 😉
Helena Bonham-Carter (aka Bellatrix Black-Lestrange) has been one of my favorite actors since I first saw her in Lady Jane (1986). She was only 20 yrs old but had this almost ethereal beauty, similar to Olivia Hussey in Romeo & Juliet (1968). Look up images for both & you'll see what I mean. Her list of roles is quite impressive too. I loved all the films she did with Tim Burton. One of my favorite characters is The Red Queen from Alice in Wonderland. She is so deliciously over the top with that one. 🤣

I think he cut it out because he was crying too much. He seems very uncomfortable crying on camera (I noticed this during the actual movie reactions too). Wow, I checked it and saw daughter Violet Columbus is a flower girl on a Hogwarts painting. The third daughter, Isabella, is a costumer in Flourish and Blotts in The Chamber Of Secrets. Finally , his son Brendan is a boy in the Study Hall, in the same film. So they could occasionally have a bit quality time- because quality time is basicly the same as accumulated quantity time.

I stumbled on your videos less than a week ago, and have since watched your entire HP series. You earned a Subscriber. Like you, I was never a fan till I saw the first movie. Genuinely shocked at how good it was, and it lead me to read all the books as well.
Your reactions have been fantastic and I'm really looking forward to your journey into Middle Earth with the Lord of the Rings. Watch the extended editions, and again, be ready for one hell of a roller coaster ride. There are also extensive behind the scenes documentaries that are just as entertaining as the movies. You learn so much more and come to appreciate the poeple and work that went into that series.
Oh, the Hobbit movies, they take place 60 years before the events seen in LOTR, while it is its own story, it does set up a lot of whats seen Rings. So, that's another one to add to your list. Rings and Hobbit is meant to be one giant story that is just as good, and as "dense" as Harry Potter, so yes... looking forward to the new adventure.

This is a bit later than uploaded, but Im just watching these now, great reactions I loved them all!! And I’m not too sure if this is the official reason, but Chris Columbus was known for his children’s movies, and they knew for later on in the franchise that vibe and style would not fit the darker themes coming in the later books. I feel like he felt that he couldn’t do the other ones justice because he wouldn’t have been able to capture the seriousness and darkness. As for the other directors, I’m not too sure why they switched so often until they stuck with David Yates for the last for

Also another note! The final battle does not happen outside with just Harry and Voldemort. In the books, this battle occurs in the great hall and EVERYONE is just watching it unfold. And also Voldemort ends up dying like any other wizard hit with the Acadia Kedavra spell, he doesn’t disintegrate, he just flops dead, which Voldemort would have hated because he died like any other person, he didn’t die like some otherworldly being, just like any other person, cuz that’s all he really was in the end, an evil man

Chris Columbus were stressed out by being away from his family all week, and from commuting between the US and the UK. But he had Eleanor, his daughter, with him on set. Loved your reaction as always. Being real and raw makes us feel the emotions and helps make us not be afraid to show them, so thank you. Now, as you said, no one can truly replace these actors in these roles, but I hooe you don't move too far from the wizarding world just yet. In addition to the Fantastic Beasts movies, there are still some good fan films out there that I think you may like. I am pretty sure I mentioned it before, but one thing I hope you consider checking out is Team StarKids' A Very Potter Musical trilogy. They parody the stories, but they do it in such a way that helps. Without spoiling too much (if you do decide to give them a go), they amplify certain character traits and make you see the characters differently. You see the heroes' flaws and the villians' vulnerabilities, which is an interesting take. There are even moments when you feel sympathy for Voldemort if you can believe it. Just a suggestion. If you do it, I suggest using subtitles for sure since the audio is meh, but do at least think about it. Either way, love the reactions and can't wait for the next.

The change of directors was for a couple of reasons. First, the studio wanted a change as the series changed as directors have their own styles. Additionally, directors are artists themselves and most of them have projects of their own they are working on. Few directors would commit to doing a series over the course of 8 films and a decade as that would constrain and pigeon-hole them.

I don’t know if it was purely a mistake or trolling, but they sometimes got Oliver and James (Fred and George) mixed up in the captions. Oliver is in the turquoise T-shirt. James in black with a black jacket. I’m not sure if they later corrected it, but they also showed a picture of Emma as a child and it was actually Emma Roberts not Emma Watson.
I know this was posted a few months ago, have you since read the books? They’re so much superior to the movies imo.

I remember when it came out I desperately NEEDED to know how the story would continue. So I found a copy of the script & I read it. Because there was no way for me to go to London to see it. I WOULD LOVE for you to read it. You dont have to make a video or anything. But I know you'll love it. But fair warning it might also break your brain a little. lol. Its a very good story & a very interesting way to take these characters. Although you might do some research because I heard JK Rowling say it would never be a film or anything other than a play but I think I've heard rumors also that now the actors are actually older and getting to be the age they would need to be for the story they could do it. So if you dont want it to be spoiled if there is potentially a film I understand
