I’d always wanted to be an art conservator but knew it was a competitive field, so I didn’t pursue it in the end. (And I’m not the greatest at the sciences despite being a former nurse…) After watching this I can definitely see why it is so hard to get into! You all are amazing! Thank you so much for sharing!
Hi. I don’t typically comment on videos, but i just wanted to say that I found your vlog and sharing to be so insightful and inspiring. I myself, am an art student. It can sometimes be hard to maintain a passion and sight of what exactly, and why we chose to do what we do. It was truly lovely to see the passion and dedication that you guys pour into your studies. Art conservation-in itself, really can be a craft, no? Wonderful job at the social media btw :) This video was very cool.

Oh yes!! Portfolio day this year will be on October 9! I will also be presenting a talk on the work I’ve been doing this summer in a lab in Cleveland. Would love to meet you if you’re able to come!

@ Congratulations! Conservation community work often is framed as similar to social work- caring for peoples' objects in some ways is a lot like caring for people and advocating for their well-being. You're doing such important work. And also- never too late to get involved in conservation!!
