    Any update on Floren 06? Haven't finished watching yet but saw the float came to pick him up after an x ray.

    Why do these riders-Robin Gödel have to pull on their horses mouths like they do. Cant they ride with softer hands or is it just a prerequisite to yank on their faces

      Well, if your horse is approaching jumps at kamakazi speeds, extreme measures are necessary.

    Hospitality tents at jumps? Translate booze tents.

    So how many of the riders here are "representing" a country that they haven't lived or trained in for over 15 years, with a horse that was not foaled in the nation they "represent"? Why not just make it a top 50 riders competition and let them pick their own teams from riders with similar horse training philosophies? Or continental vs UK vs everywhere else?

      Most sports allow dual citizens, or recent ex-pats. It has only elevated sport, not done damage to it!

      @@werowlikethis I'm sorry, I don't see how allowing 20 or so riders who live and train in the UK for decades to compete under the guise of representing the origin country somehow elevates a sport more than simply letting the same 20 riders compete as individuals.

      The host country gains prestige. Prestige is highly desirable as it comes from good reputation and that can’t be bought or sold. People come because they want to learn from the best. Also the best breeders and trainers tend to go where there is the highest prestige. In the case of horse skills it’s going to be impractical to go back home as the facilities and quality of horses just aren’t available. So they stay and improve. The more competitions they win the better the host country looks and the higher the caliber of competitors. The country of origin gets some wins and to feel proud of their representatives which raises their prestige too. It’s a win-win.

      @@GoodieWhiteHat what you are describing for the country of origin is what is known as "brain drain" in other professional occupations. I would not feel "proud" if someone who was born in my country found success in another land- I mean good for them but why should I give a crap?

    Not impressed the way that Megan Heely whips her horse at just about every jump, not a good singn of a good rider.

      At what level do you event?

    • @horsecare.skincare
      @horsecare.skincare Рік тому

      If you whip your horse at every jump then your horse should likely go down a level ot two and gain confidence ... or call the vet. One of the two!

      What difference does that make from a rider with heavy hands. It is the rider with compassion and sensitive hands that wins the day. High level in any competition involves pain for the horse most of the time and you should learn about that. THe majority of horses do not jump naturally especially while running from a predator etc where they will go around an obstacle if able they will only jump when they have no choice. YOu are so wrong in so many ways. IF you have to pull that hard on the horses mouth is because the you are doing something wrong not the horse. YOu have no clue about what the horse is really about. YOu will wind up getting hurt or worse the horse getting hurt. I would never allow someone like you on any of my horses. @@andtrrrot
