my mum used to show me that red arrows video when we moved away from the uk in 2006 when i was only 4 , we used to always ask her to play "the red arrows video" before we went to bed as kids i probably havent watched this video since 2007 im 18 now and ive finally found it, and this video is one of the few things i can remember from that early on in my childhood
I always come back to this, excellent composition, it's got feeling to it, thank you so much for taking the time to put it together, it is a true treasure. Be well my friend and go with God.
Dear friends We send our love and sad condolences to all of Jon's family just now and to the crew of the Red arrows, friends and relatives. I spent my early years living in Ramsgate watching the Red Arrrows train at Manston Airport and have always loved and admired them and my family and I were at the Bournmouth Airshow just last Friday and I was thrilled as always to see the boys perform on that beautiful sunny afternoon. God bless and comfort all who mourn. Love Anita Carlton xxx
from 5:16 until the end ...those changes in aircraft formation... that's what I call pilot skills... AWESOME!!! and the music...right on the spot..brilliant!!
Had the greatest honour to see the Red Arrows practice 3 times per day, meet and eat with the team in Cyprus while in Akrotiri when I was 16 years old. Will never forget it.
fantastic. i was on holiday in england and was lucky enough to see these guys practicing. only been to a few air fair's when they have been performing, but honestly have to say they are the best display team i have ever seen. cant wait to see them at farnborough this year. i like that they are about pilot skill, shownamship and grace rather than military prowess. wonderful.
While I've seen our Thunderbirds and Blue Angels a number of times I hope to see the Red Arrows someday. The larger group really adds something. You have to be a damn good pilot to hold that kind of precision with that many planes so close. Thanks for the video.
Amazing. I saw them in Murcia, Spain and I got impressed by their mastery and wonderful synchronization. They're one of the best acrobatic squadron in the world, no mistake.
Really inspiring stuff! And at the risk of sounding militaristic, it does make me feel a little more secure knowing that all the pilots have performed operational tours, and will return to front-line duties after their 3-years in the arrows is completed. The training these pilots undergo is for combat, and all our pilots in all combat theatres have undergone fundamentally the same training as those that don the red flightsuits.
one word: awesome. i first saw the Red Arrows at Sidmoouth, when i was 4 years old (shame they donm't go there still). i went to the Dawlish Air Show, and took my breath away/
WELL DONE!! I'm half British lived there when I was a kid (Dad was in the USAF and then so was I Bentwaters and Woodbridge) Got to see th RA's when I was kid always loved them and the Thunder Birds. Good Music - Queen.
When I use to live down south about 14 years ago, I always use to remember them flying over my house about noon every few days. You’d hear them coming from miles away as you’d rush out side and watch as they roar over your head.
This is great, but I wonder if anybody else has seen the BBC documentary where the Classic Rock group "Sky" did the backing music (Circa 1982). I'd love to see that again. :)
Really great movie about the absolutely masters of the team aerobatics!!!! Red Arrows Rules! I have seen them many times at International Air Shows in Radom 2001 to 2009. :)
from limassol and extremely missed them, now studying in UK, i get to see them more in limassol than in UK. remember when i was kid they used to do more shows over the city and then xome stupid citizens complaint...
I saw the arrows in the South as well! It was because of Navy Day in Portsmouth. They were sooooo good! They flew really really low and right over my house :D
They practise a lot. I went to their home squadron last month and met up with them (I have a photo next to one of the hawks). We were going to get a private demonstration of the 08 display but the weather was too bad. Cyprus is where they go when the weather is bad to practise because of the good conditions. But they spend so long practising... they are THE best pilots in the world. Becoming a red arrow takes so much experience.
Brilliant clip, mesmerising sequences, from master-aviators! I seems to recall seeing another equally aspiring earlier clip set to Tears for Fears' "Everyone wants to rule the world" anyone remember?
Thanks for this cazzy. I live in Lincoln so get to see them practicing their routines virtually every week, never with two cool Queen tracks playing though lol
right seriously im sat in my room at newcastle, theyve just whent past my window! with all the colourful trails and everything lmao i was like omg. i wish id went to the great north run now! ive got some of the pilots autographs :). it amazes me how they can understand where to fly in three dimensions and twist their whole formation in the sky whilst being so danderously close!
I was there too, "this guy, we call him the horse, but we woundt tell you why, because there is too many kids here" :P the speaker was awsome the red arrows even better!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Red Arrows rule! Some of the best pilots in the world. What I really like about the BA's are they are still a combat unit. Within 24 hrs they can be outfitted and sent anywhere. Also the BA's pilots and ground crew are just normal everyday sailors pulled from the fleet for a 3-4 yr tour then back to the fleet. Not sure about the RA's if they are same but damn they are fun to watch!
Brian54M; Blue Angels actually have 10 single seat, and two twin seat aircraft. You are correct though, they only use 6 for airshows, 1 for narrator/vip flights. I would imagine they might use all 12 for extremely high level ceremonies or just good photo ops.
agreed,,,, watching blue angels/thunderbirds etc,, is like going to a metalicca concert, while teams like the red arrows are like a beautiful orchestra,,,,, both are good at what they do, just depends on what you like,,,, i am able to appreciate both
they've just performed a few days ago here,Malaysia!! yeahhh... they're great... more, they're gonna perform again in Malaysia this too,at the langkawi island... by december,perhaps...
Cazzyjane is correct, only 6 are used in aerobatic maneouvers by both the Thunderbirds and Blue Angels. Also note that the Hawk is smaller than either the Falcon or the Hornet (used by the Thunderbirds and Blue Angles respectively) meaning that the Red Arrows fly even closer together to get the same effect.
I saw both the Reds and the american Thunderbirds last year, and the Reds were by far the better out of the 2 display teams. Keep Trying America. You will get is right some time.!!
The Turkish Stars display team are a new team having been formed on November 7th 1992. They fly with eight red and white Northdrop NF-5 supersonic aircraft. They are one of only a few International Display Teams that fly with supersonic aircraft and the only one with eight supersonic jet aircraft.
Found this video after at least 12 years without it. This used to be my childhood watching this video over and over again.

WOW! Seen them a million times and they still make me feel like a little kid.
I always come back to this, excellent composition, it's got feeling to it, thank you so much for taking the time to put it together, it is a true treasure. Be well my friend and go with God.

i saw them when i was kid, im cypriot, they were doing so stunts near archbishop's building :) so many good childhood memories
Red arrows + Queen = Pure British Pride :)
fantastic. i was on holiday in england and was lucky enough to see these guys practicing. only been to a few air fair's when they have been performing, but honestly have to say they are the best display team i have ever seen. cant wait to see them at farnborough this year. i like that they are about pilot skill, shownamship and grace rather than military prowess. wonderful.
Amazing.
A tribute to the latest red arrows pilot who died today.
May he rest in peace.
I watched this exact video over and over again when I was like 4 years old 10 years ago
Wow the cockpit view is amazing. What a rush it must be to have the skill and pilot a plane that close to another. Absolutely spectacular post.
While I've seen our Thunderbirds and Blue Angels a number of times I hope to see the Red Arrows someday. The larger group really adds something. You have to be a damn good pilot to hold that kind of precision with that many planes so close. Thanks for the video.

Have seen them many times and am always in awe of their combined talent!! Fantastic...well done!!
Fantastische video...

i went to the Dawlish Air Show, and took my breath away/

When I use to live down south about 14 years ago, I always use to remember them flying over my house about noon every few days. You’d hear them coming from miles away as you’d rush out side and watch as they roar over your head.

Cazzyjane is correct, only 6 are used in aerobatic maneouvers by both the Thunderbirds and Blue Angels.

The Turkish Stars display team are a new team having been formed on November 7th 1992. They fly with eight red and white Northdrop NF-5 supersonic aircraft. They are one of only a few International Display Teams that fly with supersonic aircraft and the only one with eight supersonic jet aircraft.
SPECTACULAR ... congratulations
Amazing video, To me they all are just as good as the others.
