    I have one of these fitted to my EV motorbike. It doesn't matter if you put the current transformer on the positive or the negative wire as the current flowing is the same in each. What does matter is the direction the current flows through the coil....one way it will read positive, turn it around and it will read negative. These things are a lot cleverer than simply measuring current and voltage.....they measure coulombs which is a measure of current and time. One coulomb is one amp flowing for one second and this meter counts the number of amps over time flowing through the coil to determine the state of charge of the battery. I programmed mine using the manual method where I fully charged the battery, then entered the maximum voltage and the capacity of the battery, which in my case was 79.5v and 30 Ah.

    You can put the hall sensor on either the positive or negative wire. You just have to pay attention to the direction you mount it.

    You can also just reverse the current sensor on the positive lead, it would work as well :).
    Do you know if it is it possible to disable the flashing backlight when charging?

    If your load decreases to less draw than your solar panel delivers does it show how much current is charging the battery?

    If you have two 2:24 12v batteries in parallel, do you need one of these for each battery?

    Why do you put the negativ wire trough the hole?
    In the picture I see the positve wire trough the hole

    I do apologize but I am new to this... How many amps do I have in a battery bank that is set up of 6 batteries and each of 12V - 60amps, what are the total amps? 360 amps?

    • @Ricardofromage
      @Ricardofromage 4 місяці тому +2

      Depends on your set up, but if you have 6 x 12v batteries I'm going to assume that they're wired in parallel and its a 12v system, not a 72v system wired in series. ( parallel = pos -> pos & neg -> neg). This means you have a 12v system, and the amps are added together, so yes 6 x 60 amps = 360 amps total.
      If the system was wired in series, you would be wired pos -> neg on each battery, this would be 6 x 12v, 72v, but the amps would stay the same. So you either have 12v system and 360a/h, or a 72v system at 60a/h. Hope that helps!!

    I read some of the directions you where showing. Twice I seen" Discharge battery till empty" That doesn't seem right, or at least good for the battery...
