Man what a freaking giant! I can’t get enough of it… This is my TV when I come home from work…😂 I love this channel and you’ve taught me so much… I’m not a bad fisherman but I’ve definitely learned a lot more from watching you…
Awesome cats, I catch the blues in the 30’s in a lake I fish, personal best is 41. I gotta get up to Chattanooga and get my hook wet there. Maybe catch you out one day. Again very nice cats. See ya on the next video. Thanks for the great content.
I have to say I love your channel! I watch your videos all the time. I fished the Mississippi River a while with a friend that moved away and we wore them out 30-60 pounds constantly on Asian carp. Do you have access to them? If you do that's the best bait we've found over bluegill in the Mississippi River. The way we do then because most are rather large is fillet the fish from gill to tail or vice versa and leave the scales on then cut it into preferred bait sized pieces. The skin is very tough and usually catches multiple fish per bait. Very tough and effective, very strong scent if you cut into one you'll see. Lol, hopefully you'll try it out, keep catching them big cats!
Hey, Bryan! I've never seen an Asian carp. If not mistaken, I think Asian carp are considered an invasive species in the state of Tennessee. I guess these carp bring great concern posing a threat in our rivers.
Yes sir they're invasive. They've took over all shallow bodies of water connected to the Mississippi River, but they do make excellent bait. Dangerous fish for boaters, a lot of people have been knocked out of boats from them jumping. I've taken a few to the face myself haha
Great videos buddy. I really enjoy your shows. Man you make it seem so easy. I know you put a lot of work and time to be successful. I fish all the time but never catch monster's like you do. I do ok, I enjoy the hunt. Maby someday I'll get my monster. I've learned a lot watching your videos, Thanks for everything. Keep a fish on!!! Big fan Mark ,,,,By the way what team do you coach, I'd like to check it out.
I live in town also. I actually fished there before and caught smaller ones. Love the videos . What kind of rod and reels do you prefer for big cats like that.
what is your biggest fish u ever caught. i just ordered me a BnM silver cat magnum 7.5 1 piece rod. cant wait to get a pole bender. saw u and ty using them so i know they r beasts
hey man I have a question I live in Nevada and I'm gonna go fishing at lake Mead and I was gonna see if I could have some advice on what kinda bait to use when fishing fresh water
Not really. This spot is pretty consistent when there is higher flow. Deepest part is maybe 35 feet. I just focus more on current seams when the flow is roaring. It varies each day though. Some times they are there and some times not. Tight lines!
Chatt Cats Fishing I built a custom detachable rod rack for my boat for catfishing tje river and will be hitting the Kansas and Missouri soon for winter blue cats!
I do not. Contact Ty Konkle with FV-Catfish.com. He's a licensed charter and captain. He will give you 10% off the trip for mentioning my name. Tight lines and FISH ON!
I see you eastern guys in cold weather gear fishing wintering holes .... here in Iowa, seems if you mess around with them in winter they move out and away . And we have some unethical folks work over a wintering hole with snag hooks and take out literally pickup loads of flat heads . I call the game warden when I see it as just across the river is a walleye spot I fish until freeze up and then after freeze up and before water rises ! We have little to no blues in the Des Moines river basin we have to go to the Missouri if we wanna catch blues of any size. State record is 109# flat head is 82# and channel is like 23#. Do you do anything other then release your fish ? Or is there more you do for structure or breeding areas u care for ? Of course we don't have skipjack we have shad couple different species. And huge blue gill population crappie walleyes a few northern musky plenty of rough fish but just seems we don't have the numbers of cats you all do !
Hey Steve! I typically catch and release. I am blessed to have an amazing fishery on the TN River. Does Iowa have size limits for catfish? I know in Tennessee only one catfish over 34" can be harvested per day.
No we have no limits on size just a limit of 8 ... we grow big fish my PB is 56 pound flathead my grand father told me stories of 100 pound plus flat heads below the low head dams in Des Moines . Most are gone now so are the spoonbills and sturgeon I caught when a kid ! Too much herbicide and too many dams put in the last 30 years .
I am not a fishing guide. Contact Ty Konkle at FV-Catfish.com. Yo u contact him on Facebook or through his website. He knows the river very well. He will give you a 10% discount off the trip for mentioning my name. Thanks for watching.

Nice fish and an excellent video. Question: Was your #1 rod getting a bite at around the 1:30 mark or was that current moving the rod tip?

chatt cats have you tried to catch any sized catfish with jello hot dogs as bait. if you haven't then you should try it, I did and that cat was a pig
I have not tried. That would be fun to try and catch some nice channel catfish with it.
I live in town also. I actually fished there before and caught smaller ones. Love the videos . What kind of rod and reels do you prefer for big cats like that.
Check the video description!
TANK
Its got shoulders on it
They were big!

O.H. nice cat
hey man I have a question I live in Nevada and I'm gonna go fishing at lake Mead and I was gonna see if I could have some advice on what kinda bait to use when fishing fresh water
Hey Daniela! It depends on what fish you are fishing for. If you are going for catfish then I recommend cut bait (i.e. bluegill, shad)
Chatt Cats Fishing I'm fishing for channel fish, spriped bass, laregmouth bass and blue gill
I would use night crawlers. You can catch any fish with that. Tight lines!
Chatt Cats Fishing thanks man
So are you basically just hitting deep winter holes along the river channels looking for active blues?
LET THEM LIVE
All released to fight another day!
wow that's Awesome Big Cats
Omg that thing is a toad
For sure!
what types of Rod and Reels do you use and line and hooks.
Everything is in video description :-)
I've tried some fishing tips from your videos, but it doesn't works so well in my country.. Maybe in my country is a dogfish.. Not catfish..
Once again, do you have your charter/captain license yet? I been trying a year now to go fishing with you! I can even split the cost!!!
I do not. Contact Ty Konkle with FV-Catfish.com. He's a licensed charter and captain. He will give you 10% off the trip for mentioning my name. Tight lines and FISH ON!
Very nice fish! What boat are you using, and setup? video? 👍👍
Thanks. I fish out of a g3 DLX 1756 gator jon boat.
What's the specs on that silver cat rod you were using?
www.bnmpoles.com/products/mag
Are there blu car fish in Indiana
I would imagine so
what kind of hook and what size hook were you using?
Team Catfish 8/0 double action circle hook
Thanks!
Is cut bait better than live. And why if u dnt mind?
I do better on cut bait. Live bait works great too, especially with the flathead catfish. But it varies. It all depends on what the catfish want.
Nice catches! Happy for you man! Question here.. How many pounds of drag do you believe you have with the reel engaged?
Thanks. I think I have 11-12 lbs of drag engaged. Not too sure though.
