I MISS RACING NBL AND ABA!!!!! I loved how different it felt going from one organization to the other and the different people I'd race. (and being able to ride for different teams)
Two of my kids started bmx racing. I got the itch again, bought an old Haro cruiser pro XL Group 1. It’s got raised handle bars, tilted them slightly forward. I am 6’6” (48 years old). Have strong legs, MTb regular (also single speed MTb) Which gear ratio do you recommend?
AWESOME! I usually run 45/16 but I've been playing around with different ratios. 45/16 is still my favorite. If you have to run your bars a lil forward maybe try a longer stem or frame. Racing with the bars forward always felt squirley to me but some great riders actually do ride that way though.
I told my son I was going to take him to a race to check it out this week...and I'm going to be honest, I watched a few videos and I want to race again.
On that that yellow bike you should drop the rear gear to 15. You should have a person video tape you so you could see on how you start and how you finish cause you can start off good and end badly and that’s when you play with your gears. So if slow at first lower the sprocket in the back and if you want speed lower your sprocket on your crank.
I'm 37 Year's old I use to race bmx when I was a teenager ...then quit because I got in trouble.now I want to race again I'm 6'1 228 pound's what's the best bike I can get to start practicing at my local track.

Those Intense micro-knobbies were a good tyre
Yeah they were. I'm glad I still had one laying around for this build.
I'm sooooo jelly !!!!!! I'm trying to sell some stuff , to get me a 24"
Ok cool!
Curious what bars are you running on your 24 cruisers? Looks like more than a 7” rise. Not a fan of the little/stock cruiser bars
I use 8.5in rise bars. I love em!

Get a Pro XXL or XXXL size bike/frame. Mongoose, DK, Chase, Radio all make 20in complete BMX race bikes for taller riders.
How is the elbow feeling?
It's way better!
@@crazyalcayne good to hear. My left elbow is 100%, right one is better but not ready to ride, can't wait to come back, hopefully see you soon.
