I'm 6 foot 3, 230. Sold my kx250f and got a ktm 250sx. Best change I've ever done. Took me back to the 85cc days, smell of the exhaust. More power that could get me around the track. No valves to check, just a top end every 20 hours and go.
Caddillacmoto Nothing can replace the youth on an 85 That feeling.I am 5 10 ,I bought a 112 2 and a half years now from over your way . I gather your in America. I am In Australia I have not got it home yet .Its taken a while now.Waiting for a gentleman to do his youtubes with it I Bought a 2023 RM 85 new, they are a cheap bike .To ride at a farm with 12 to 15 buddies on 85s ,either their boys bikes or they bought also they have big bikes also ,it was brilliant fun. Something went wrong it blew up ,either fuel ? It broke the piston , I sold it , Need some cheering up 112 may do so I would miss out on a girl and go rinding when I was 14 to,16 years old or put her on back to track to watch .The good times,
That track looks like shit. There is only one little section with some small tables on it. Looks like a track built for quads. Is there nothing else to ride in Socal?
I have a dumb question but i never heard anyone address this before. Is there a proper way to shift gears in race mod. Gas off, clutch in, shift gear, clutch out and gas it? or do you power shift it, leave the gas on, clutch it and shift gear? Do you use a clutch to shift into the next gear? Finally, would you shift a 2 stroker differently than a 4-stroker or would it be the same way in race mod? I never rode a 4-stroke race bike before., only 2 strokes back when i rode in the 70s and early 80s. Sorry for asking a dumb question but i often wondered if i was shifting the wrong way compared to how the pros shifted their bikes. Thanks
Since I couldn't afford a new bike every year, I'd speedshift. (Wide-open throttle, quick pull clutch a fraction of a second before upshifting.). I've never damaged a transmission in my life. Guys with means, on the other hand, don't mind banging gears under full power with no clutch! This is particularly true at the start; from gate drop to first turn. The dogs on the gears will get slightly deformed by doing that over time, which leads to issues like popping out of gear into false neutrals. That's no good when doubles and triples abound, or any sort of do-or-die obstacle. It's safe to downshift without clutch under braking.
@@marvelaturraz5405 I was always afraid of not using the clutch to shift gears because i thought not doing so may damage the transmission, so i would clutch it and shift the gear as fast as i could. my thoughts where they put a clutch on the bike for a reason so i better use it when shifting. Thanks for your reply

I love the sound of the 2 stroke. Its what I grew up on. The sound, the smells…
They are a blast. I have the 300 SX and it has great roll on and low end torque! Very fun bike!
@@philklemen Fun is the correct adjective.
Freaking teased us looking at it. I'm glad you rode it!

This sounds so crisp! No mods other than a pipe and silencer?
@@disanti44 That’s it
At the 3:08 mark…”ahhh I suck on this thing” is what you said right? Missed that rut because the front tire didn’t bite down to carve-in off throttle?
Come on , admit it .....they are fun ! 😊😅
Good on ya 'fer-fer for having a hoon. Please do not be too hard on ones self- that is our job. Hugs.

Dip the throttle no clutch up and down
No clutch for shifting
