Well done sir, I panicked when I found I had only Chinese instructions with this kit, that I wanted to build with my children. You're presentation was clear, concise and made building the radio a pleasure instead of a nightmare, thank you so much, you are a legend :-)
Mister : with your video you help me very much because i made this kit !!! i'm starting this morning and i have only a shematics in chinese !!! Thanks a lot and god bless you and your family !!! Sorry for my English .... Eric from France
Collected such a receiver. The setting is carried out by moving apart the turns of the coil L2 - 8 turns. And it is soldered from the side of copper conductors for convenience. We push the coils more - more range, we narrow - less range. Difficulties arose during the assembly of the case. In the upper left corner, the case strongly clamps the variable capacitor and the wheel starts to spin very hard, and the movement is bitten. It also happens that the frequency of nearby radio stations jumps. In general, a decent receiver for the money, catches all stations, like more advanced receiver models.
This was very interesting! I used to play with soldering as a teen, but haven’t, in so long, as I was more fixated by computers. That said, both skills are needed nowadays, and watching this video really helped. Thanks and I’ll try this at home.
Great video but you installed the disc capacitors 103 and 202 incorrectly. You put a lead from each in a hole for the other. They should be at right angles to the edge of the circuit board.
Thanks a lot for this video! Is it possible you inserted the trimmer capacitor backwards? There are wide and narrow alignment spades. Fits correctly when oriented right.
you are welcome. I just watched the video and typed the timing for chapters so you can select the chapters from UA-cam player on computer. The at 18:33 it shows capacitor has 5 pins.
tip download the app to check the colour code before installing it i mistaked the 2.2k wit the 22k idk if its gonna work now but ama keep going to gain more experiance with it and thats it might buy another in the future to try again to who ever is reading this have a wonderful day and good luck
The potential disappearance of car AM radios may strike a nostalgic chord with some, especially those who enjoy the diverse array of foreign language music stations. In an era dominated by digital streaming services, technological advancements inevitably lead to the phasing out of older technologies. However, this transition also presents an opportunity to explore newer platforms that offer a broader range of content, including foreign language music, thereby enriching cultural exchange and appreciation.
I have assembled this kit, it was fun, thank you for the help in your video. I am thinking to include an input micro usb in it and maybe a charging module for a battery. Any recommendation? I am lost between all modules on Ebay.
I had to spread the 8T coil to find my FM stations, also there are two trimmers on the back of the main vari cap. Does anyone know how to trim them and what exactly they do?.
you are welcome. I don't have the radio with me. But whatever fits will work. AA is 1.5V and AAA is also 1.5V. it is just matter of size. AA is larger and will last longer. Thanks for the video. On mine AM works fine but FM is completely silent, only a very weak hiss but no stations. PCB quality is very bad so maybe a broken track somewhere.
Evidently, the tiny coil next to tuning cap needs to elongated to calibrate the FM band. My radio could not be aligned on FM - only bottom end of FM band could be heard near 100 MHz on the dial. The FM Radio is very poor and is subject to pulling when you place your hand near the radio case. The AM radio is a direct conversion design which means very poor selectivity. This kit is really an educational kit and probably will remain on a shelf once it has been built. Too bad as the cosmetics are really well done.
Yes, if it does not than the polarity/position may be backwards. You can try unsoldering it and putting it the other way. When looking at the led the longer leg is the positive.
How would you receive T.V, when it became digital in North America close to 13 years ago? Also, the radio would be great if there was a carrying strap on it. The brand name seems so similar to Panasonic. Great video.
There are still some low power analog tv stations on the air. In Chicago,Channel 6 is broadcast as a low power station and doubles as Me-FM as 87.5 FM. I do not know about other markets but I suspect there are others.
Lamento escuchar eso, pero debe haber conectado un componente incorrectamente o un cable/componente no está soldado correctamente. Compruébelos uno por uno. Buena suerte
I built one. The most disappointing Chinese kit I ever built. In general, I do like Chinese radio kits, and the six and 7 transistor AM ones I built worked well. The actual circuit design is quite reasonable, remembering its simplicity. One IC for FM, one for AM (the traditional MK484 / ZN414 type clone) and an audio amplifier. Mine worked to a level I felt was satisfactory for something so simple. But the kit was let down by poor quality of components, a PCB that was difficult to solder (and the copper came off when it got hot) and the dreadful, ill-fitting case and mechanicals. :-(

Aliexpress should pay you for making this video because otherwise, it would be more challenging to assemble this radio.
Thanks for the build I just picked one up and had no directions was a little confused about the knobs to adjust the station
Glad I could help

yes definitely it is the PCB. When I was working, I worried that even during soldering the path would be ripped off.

Very nice 💯
A genuine Paeansonic radio!
😂
you put the capacitor 202 wrong, you put one terminal on the 202 hole and the other terminal in the hole of the 103 capacitor. Check it again.
I don't have it on hand to see, but I might have made mistake. thank you for letting me know. However I have not see any issue with it.
