No doubt these Russians had heard shamanic Siberian and Nordic and polyphonic Central Asian sounds, so none of that was unusual to them. Russians are the masters of all emotive music in my opinion. But to put all their skills in service of disadvantaged children...don't ever say there was no positive legacy from Russian Orthodoxy or Communism. These kinds of events are how we hear what is universally human. And it will always come from people who were thrown in the garbage.

One of the most beautiful singers and people in the world. I always feel something every time Diana sings. She has had such a tough childhood and yet she is such a positive person.
You have just met Diana 15 years old here born May 31st 2003 , she is a rare true Contralto , I know you know what that is , that is her voice , She is Russian and also sings English , French , Spanish and Arabic . There are a lot of videos on her Utube channel ,avoid HTB as you might get blocked .
She grew up yodeling, and I think that led her to experiment with what her voice was capable of doing. I've heard other reactors say that many artists shy away from some of the things she does because they don't have her control.
It think it sounded like the same kind of sub harmonic effect that some male singers use to be able to sing an octave lower than their normal range, just higher. If you listen for it you can hear how the overtones move around when her mouth shape changes.
Her tone is going to always dominate your first listen. But the more you hear this...the more the emotional expression dominates. It's astonishing. All the sounds serve the emotional story here. The high voice is hopeful, desirous, young... But when she drops the "a" in "what wicked game..." she's an aged babushka who is abandoned and destitute by someone who never loved her. It's decades of pain and lost opportunity evoked ..by a FIFTEEN YEAR OLD. How? HOW? I am in awe of her. That final whisper exceeded Lara Fabian for emotional power. That wasn't confusion you felt at the end. It hit you. Really hard. This track changes what music is, for those who get it.

i saw a home video of her in a recording studio singing derniere danse. After nailing it in one take she lets out a yell of relief and joy. I have never heard a yell like it, it was almost other worldly and very powerful and loud.

The 1st time I heard this I was absolutely flabbergasted(one of my favorite words)! i described it as disconnected. I saw her mouth moving but it felt like the sound was coming from somewhere else. A true story ... when Diana was 5 years old, she swallowed a MircoMoog (damn you Bob for making them so small). Since then when she opens her soul, all audible frequencies come out ... all she has to do is apply the appropriate ladder filters (thank you Bob). I thing that that specific Moog has two oscillators and and a white noise generator in there too. End of true story. :-)

i saw a home video of her in a recording studio singing derniere danse. After nailing it in one take she lets out a yell of relief and joy. I have never heard a yell like it, it was almost other worldly and very powerful and loud.

I will add something that always wow me: "By Your Voice". I listen it weekly and each time is like firt time. The texture of her voice is something like a cyborg, a human cannot produce such sounds.
The 1st time I heard this I was absolutely flabbergasted(one of my favorite words)! i described it as disconnected. I saw her mouth moving but it felt like the sound was coming from somewhere else. Like there was a disconnect between what my ear was hearing and what my brain was thinking I should hear. Beautifully otherworldly. Great reaction from you as always!!

She might be the next step of human evolution or was born with a physiological deformity that happened to work in a positive manner. That aside , when Diana vocalizes her internal energy there is this metaphysical energy that accompanies her vocal that my soul connects and feeds off from it , making me just feel physically , emotionally, and spirituality refreshed by the end of it. Diana has something primal, mystical, but also sensitive and sensual in her voice and she lives her songs. Diana is a dramatic contralto, the rarest contralto type. Dimash is the universe, but Diana is the earth, our home... and when you hear her voice you feel like she has wrapped you in a warm velvet blanket and served you a mug of hot, dark chocolate. Diana was born in May 2003 in Arseniev in the Far East of Russia. She didn't have a happy start in life. The woman who gave birth to her had 12 pregnancies, only Diana survived ... and she did not love her child, abused her cruelly and tried to I drowned. Relatives found the child with a broken collarbone on the street and shortly afterwards took the 3-year-old girl to an orphanage. Finally there she found love ... from Irina Ponik. Taking a little child into the family was not easy for Irina. Her son was already 20 years old, the daughter 17 years old ... Start all over now? Yes!!! Diana came to a poor but loving family when she was 5 years old.
Diana spoke badly, cried a lot and was still very scared but she all sing songs from cartoons. And so, the singing teacher Elena Kazantseva discovered Diana's talent. And all started ...
During 2008 to 2012 Diana sang around 40 songs, including at competitions.
Diana's mother became her daughter's manager. Everything that has to do with Diana's singing training, performances, competitions, looking for sponsors is organized and coordinated by her mother Irina Ponik. She took extra sewing courses too. Since then, she's been sewing all of Diana's stage costumes, because all of these things consume the family budget. She accompanies her daughter on trips and captures her life in photos and videos with the persistence of a visionary.
After winning a competition in Moscow, Diana's mother was offered to leave the girl in a boarding school for gifted children. She refused and in 2012 her family moved to her hometown of Toglyatti, much closer to Moscow. Diana lost her fear that the woman who gave birth to her would kidnap her.
Diana's voice, her perfect pitch and her sense of rhythm were extraordinary even as a little girl and so she impressed with her talent in over 50 national and international competitions. Her confidence grew, her voice continued to develop ... until one day she was asked to compete in more distant competitions so that other children could have a chance to win.
In 2017 she went to Moscow, at the Russian 'The Voice Kids'. Diana sang 'Yodel-Time' ua-cam.com/video/vKdvaWsd91Q/v-deo.html but none of the judges turned around but the whole audience gave 'standing ovation'. What happened? Next day, a huge scandal broke out in social medias. People demanded for Diana's participation in the competition.
A door had closed but a new door opened:
In 2018/19, Moscow hosted the 3rd season of a unique international competition instead of "You are Super", especially for adopted and orphaned children. The winner of the season (Diana) will be determined by a 6-day public vote and the final took place in the Kremlin Palace and her videos were uploaded to UA-cam and soon she had millions of fans.
Diana won also a scholarship to the College of Music. Igor Krutoy gifted her a small apartment in Moscow. So, she could start her vocal training with the best teachers such as Professor Olga Donskoy (She died of Covid-19 in October 2020).
The break of voice made Diana’s voice even darker and deeper. She has mastered this time very professionally and has worked hard to bring back the lost high notes and has expanded her vocal range, currently from C3 to D6. Her genres are folk-rock, folk-pop, jazz, soul, blues, soldier songs and Diana-stile… tradition meets modernity.
She loves to sing in French, but also sings in English, German, Arabic and Spanish... but only phonetically.
But she is not only a great singer and storyteller, but also a humble, intelligent and hardworking young woman. She also gives charity concerts. She loves her family and her fans. They are 'friends' to her and they are very supportive of her. Diana is grateful that they helped improve her home studio and also supported her future plans. Her Russian Friends have chosen Diana as "National Treasure" (no official title).
2020 Diana graduated from high school a year earlier, as an external student and now, she is a student at the Russian Institute of Theater Arts (similar to Juilliard). She is already composing songs and we will definitely hear her own song soon.
She will only take part in major competitions if invited. Such competitions require a lot of time, effort and strength. As a result, participants often have large educational gaps and problems later on. Diana is a smart young woman. She focuses on her studies, her voice and expanding her repertoire.

A true story ... when Diana was 5 years old, she swallowed a MircoMoog (damn you Bob for making them so small). Since then when she opens her soul, all audible frequencies come out ... all she has to do is apply the appropriate ladder filters (thank you Bob). I thing that that specific Moog has two oscillators and and a white noise generator in there too. End of true story. :-)
