Roglic can win the TdF because the other favorites are not immune to the mishaps that have kept him from winning it. Obviously Jonas is the biggest contender but eventually he will have a bad day at the tour - same way we have seen it happen to Pog, Roglic, and Remco. Roglic is a survivor

@@larshansen4557 no one said that Vingegaard is not the strongest when it comes to mountains... in last 2 years.... My point is only that 1. ) Pogačar keeps training and racing one day races and is loosing a lot because of this in high mountains performances. But clearly he does nit care since he already won 2 TDFs and prefers winning other races. On the other hand Roglič never neither battled with Vingegaard in high mountains last 2 years, but he showed in 2023 of being stronger than Pogačar in high mountains for sure. No one is denying that Vingegaard is the strongest in high mountains in last 2 years, what I am saying is that never write off the most motivated and mentally the strongest man in the group.

Let's revisit some other facts you omit and are to do with psychology of teams and team racing. With very successful 2023 Visma has no place to go but down with regards of team spirit after financial issues and after team was left with key success factors of last decade like Roglič and his trainer. On the other hand Roglič in Bora will be super motivated and ready after the season with no crashes and outright nearly 100% success in stage race attendance in 2023. DEnk of Bora and other team mates will be there 100% behind Primož which they were clearly not. It is funny how people underestimate the most determined cyclist of modern era. He is a gladiator and I would not be surprised if his best year is yet to come.

I disagree with the comments about Bora. I think it'll be a great fit for him that isn't a last minute effort. He is a pro cyclist and likely has contacts with whoever knows how many other pros there are, probably dozens at this point so I see it more as of best team based on conversations with other pro cyclists and just who offered rather than a last minute decision, just look at the Ineos and Remco talks that have been put out would you have called that out as a last minute decision?
If his domestiques at BORA are not at Kuss level I think he'll survive the Tour and able to take spots because like you said, he is good on boni seconds.
The world's seen how great of a TT Remco is and if there is even a sliver of gains for Roglic by going to his setup of the specialized TT bike in which both BORA and QS have then that makes it another good justification to jump over to Bora.
As for the Tour, I'd say his biggest threat here is high mountains GC contenders that have not posted results. Tadej came up into the ranks very fast to take his TDF victories and Jonas just delivers a beatdown on the high mountains. So if there is another rising star that is able to repeat what those two do then I don't think Roglic has a chance.
And the other thing is that I'm not 100% convinced he is going to the Tour. His contract is likely huge for BORA but I still think he can taste success at one of the other two GTs and partake in other races around the Tour.

    • @MDP1702
      @MDP1702 11 місяців тому

*that isn't a last minute effort*
*so I see it more as of best team based on conversations*
Bora literally contacted him after the Vuelta to offer him to come over if a deal with Jumbo could be reached.
The Remco-Ineos talks have just been rumours with no substance.
I don't know if Specialised is better than what Jumbo has, Remco isn't exactly the best to look at, considering he is a true TT prodigee, dominating at the juniors and even already becoming EC champion at 19. We'll have to wait, though I don't really expect many differences due to equipment/setup.
He's definitely going to the tour. That is what Bora got him for and that is also why he moved. If he still wanted anothe Giro, he could get that at Jumbo too and he already has 3 Vuelta victories.

The commentary on this video was very good. And it makes total sense. However, I thought back to the year That Nibali won the Tour. I don't think his chance was any better than the video gave to Pimos. Yes. He did ride as the best rider. After. The top guys feel for one reason or another. Not taking a thing from Nibali. I was happy as hell that he won. But. If everyone else stayed in the race. I don't think anyone could tell how he would have made out. We can all remember Primos losing to Pgicar on stage 20. And we were all speechless, I suspect. It is one of the great things we see year in and year out. The "Thrill of Victory" is throughout the season as we see human interaction. And the incredible days that someone overcomes. And shines above their competitors. This is why we love this sport so much. He has a great chance. He has often shown that he is tenacious and takes the win just a few strokes or less just before the stripe. Only time will tell. And what a great couple more years of suspense he will bring each race he signs into. I, for one, would love to see him get one. As you clearly have said correctly. The youngsters still have more time. Primoz probably does not. Remember when Cris Horner won the Giro? However, most of us wish he would come clean and publicly confess he was on the juice. But maybe he was clean. And maybe Primoz can still make it happen, too. Can't wait to see what happens. Jumbo might split the leadership between Videgard and Cuss. That could blow up, eliminating both leaders at Jumbo. Culling a few of the top picks out early. And Wout adds a second chance for the team to fracture as well. If another GC crashes out. Or falter on a TT. And there ya go. Can't wait for next season to start. I don't think the second tier of kids will come good next year. So we can only wait.

He's great but you're delusional. Primoz would have only one Vuelta and ZERO TdF podiums without Kuss.

One vuelta? The delusional one here is you.
For example Kuss crashed out of 2022 vuelta and primoz was doing an excellent vuelta with low preparation up to stage 17.
Perhaps his vuelta win from 2021 can be attributed thanks to Kuss, but definitely not 2019 and 2021. He crashed badly at the giro and still won by gaining some form during the last week, aren't you understimating him as if all his success is thanks to Kuss?@@veganpotterthevegan

@@Queen-be6md How was he doing good at the 2022 Vuelta if he was 2:40 behind and dropped 2 times (put under pressure all the the MTF's) by Remco untill Remco got a crash injury and 2 lesser days because of that?

    • @Queen-be6md

It is irrelevant that Remco crashed, it is part of the race, on the other hand you can't deny his form went from very bad to a better one at the 3rd week. Furthermore his performance can't totally be attributed to his injury, see his low performance at some random day at la vuelta, this just shows how vulnerable remco can be.
What I want to say is that his bad perforance can't totally be attributed to his crash given the recent evidence of his bad days. @@MDP1702
