Mirjan Fort Unsolved Mysteries | Near Kumta | Gokarna | Murudeshwar - Karnataka
Mirjan fort is located in the Mirjan village of Kumta Taluk in Uttara Kannada district. It is about 490 km from Bangalore.
The fort stands on the banks of the Aghanashini River.
Mirjan Fort is about 23 km from Gokarna, is around 11 km Kumta, about 0.5 kilometers from the national highway.
We started our journey from Kundapur on NH 66 via Maravanthe beach, Bhatkal , Murudeshwar and Kumta.
Fort is built by using Portuguese and Islamic style. Mirjan Fort is octagonal in shape spread over an area of 11.5 acres
It has remarkable architecture of the bygone era, such as canals, moats, secret passageways and various other considerations to fortify its grounds.
The splendid fort truly gives the impression of a fairytale castle all covered with grass and overgrowth
Nearest tourist places are Murudeshwar, Karwar, Yana Caves and Gokarna.
Timings 8.00 am to 5.30 pm
